  1. Agreed ... did the Sunset Cruise in Aruba. It was very nice. Kukukanuku bus and beach tour is fun too! And the Saint Helena red wine is BAD. Drank a few sips, took it to cabin and it went down the drain. It was THAT bad.
  2. Actually on the Sunrise in December our waiter DID offer that option. She said we could buy as many as we wanted at half price but they could only be consumed in the MDR or Steakhouse. Idk how many would have been the end point but it was an option.
  3. Has your error corrected by now? I see 90 cruises with Short and 97 with Long offer.
  4. Carnival does all 3 on one sailing with 2 fun days at beginning and end each. Did this in May and it was great! Took the Kukukanuku excursion in Aruba during the day and sunset cruise later, Sea Cow in Bonaire plus an island bus tour and Mambo Beach in Curacao with a stop at the liqueur factory with 2 relaxing days on each end in the Havana area. It was One Amazing Cruise. Donkey is a great CD and the Sunny Girls Trio in the Atrium and teamed up with Playlist were great too. Did I say One Amazing Cruise??!
  5. We upgraded to Suite also. The Havana area was SO nice. It's smaller than I expected though so if you are just getting there midday the seats are hard to find. Late afternoon though was no problem. Great Bar Service! And the pools and hot tubs were hardly used ... people rotated in and out and were not tub hogging. Overall I would love to have that area again, but paying rack rate for GS is not worth it, but as a small upgrade, it can't be beat! The inside bar is LOUD at night though. We prefer 80s or 90s tunes so we didn't stick around inside but it was a popular area. Enjoy your suite!
  6. If you are in a Grand Suite on Vista class, you will get access to the Havana area as well.
  7. I put a call into Carnival a couple of days ago and told the rep the issue, after my original post, and sure enough, it was fixed by today! 5:30, 7:15 or 9 p.m. is all that shows now. I booked the date and time we wanted! Thanks for the replies.
  8. DH and I both keep getting emails for the various slots tournaments Carnival has coming up in 2023 and into 2024. Most say $25K grand prize, but there are two that are advertised as 1 Million Dollars in prizes, with a grand prize of $500K. Inquiring Minds want to know .... so I called and asked my naive questions but the Carnival Players Club rep actually said SHE didn't know the answers either, so I'm turning to the experts here! So, for the $500K grand prize, is that REALLY coming from only the play that is on that particular sailing? Not a culmination of prizes they've been giving out over the course of several cruises and months? As is, someone walks away with Half a Mil? Hmmmm ..... Okay, so even if that is or isn't true, where is the other $500K distributed? To the other players in elimination rounds? I also asked how does one get to be IN that tournament -- because I did a tournament a few years ago on Dream, and that was literally just a sign-up sheet and a small fee to play (maybe $25), I don't recall. But it wasn't anything special that had been pre-advertised like this seems to be. The rep did say that to be IN the tournament on that sailing, one had to book under the appropriate code from the VIFP codes that are for that tourney. So, no one else can play? And if so, how many players might there be? 100? 500? 1000? And is there an additional fee to enter once on the ship? Or does the booking promo code cover the entry? These are things I'd like to know but Carnival can't seem to tell me -- even the casino. The cruise isn't overpriced .... or at least not by much. An Extended Balcony on Jubilee would be roughly $1100 per person for 7 days in July, which is rack rate, from what I can see for that time of the year, length of cruise and size of ship. Yes, we can find balconies cheaper on a ship like Sunrise or Radiance, and we got a really good deal last year on Horizon, but we never get the "free cruises" that others seem to get, so it's not like we would be paying way over our typical price. I'd love to know how the algorithm works to receive those good promos, because the best we get in casino offers are free drinks on us, and maybe some OBC. Anyway, I digress. The tournament .... anyone in the know about how it all works?
  9. We loved the Sunrise last NYE. There was just something special about being out at sea at the deck party. It was like a hyped-up version of 80s Rock n Glow paired with Elegant Night. It was CROWDED though so be prepared. We liked it so much we're trying out the Celebration for this NYE.
  10. I can give you some restaurant choices at Oahu if your first choice is all booked by now. Tommy Bahamas makes the best Mai Tais and the macadamia nut crust seafood is really good. Dukes is also a good option, similar menus and also great Mai Tais if that's your thing. Hula Grill is pretty good too. All of these have outdoor seating options too but TB is probably the least of these for good outdoor seating options. Sunsets are great at Waikiki. Hope these suggestions take some of the $#/@#@ edge off your shoulders. Last minute changes are frustrating! 🙂
  11. We are on the NYE Celebration cruise. I've been able to book Rudy's, but when I try to book Teppanyaki, the drop-down menu is incorrect. Instead of listing only the two seating times (I think 7 and 9 were the drop down options when we were on Horizon), the website lists the seating options in 30 minute increments which can't be right, as this is a seated table experience (not come and go as you please). So, I've tried reserving just for one of the blocks that I think would be correct, and it goes into my cart correctly, but at check-out I get the error that there was an error and the order can't be processed. I've tried several dates and time combinations. Just wondering if anyone else on Celebration has been able to reserve Teppanyaki yet? DH really loves Teppanyaki, and I wanted to be sure to get the reservation set. I called Carnival but neither the phone reps nor the Fun Shop can handle dining reservations. Just curious if it had something to do with my Cruise Manager, or if everyone else was also blocked (so maybe there will still be spots as soon as we get on board). Oh, and another question -- is ChiBang by reservation? I don't see an option to reserve it at all. Counting the Days Already! TIA

  13. Okay so this question dives into new territory. Sorry about that but your post made me curious as we are frequent Carnival cruisers but are trying out other lines in 2023 and have 2 booked with RC for the summer. So, now to the question! What app? Carnivals Hub app only works on the ship so it's not useful at all before the cruise. I made a Crown and Anchor account and it shows our sailings but that's it (except for beverage and wifi). Is that the app, because that seems more like an online account. I've been trying to find RC shore excursions but the website, compared to Carnival, is really bad IMO. Is there an app that works differently with better info?
  14. The taxis are always available and have a flat fee which is very reasonable.
  15. Which bar has this?!! I haven't seen it on a menu that I recall.
  16. We were SO close at Deal or No Deal last year. The couple who bought the ticket in line right before us was the matching number. They show the number one by one on the big screen, and we matched all the way across until the last number ....
  17. March and April are great times to cruise. We did a B2B on Sunrise last year, going on her next month and next March. She's a great ship -- smaller than many of Carnivals fleet, but the recent refurbish made all the difference. We also went to OR several years ago in March on Dream. It was perfect weather. Try Konoko Falls! It's smaller than Dunn's, but still a very fun excursion.
  18. Were you still able to climb the high temple at Lamanai? I read elsewhere on CC that it was no longer accessible but could not verify that as the Lamsnai official website still says the high temple can be climbed. How hot was it in June? Looking ahead to next summer .... Thanks!
  19. I hadn't seen a review that mentioned this change. We did the high temple a few years ago at Lamanai and are booked on a similar cruise with friends next summer who were very excited about our pics from the first trip? So it's always the mask temple? That might convince me to try the other options then. Thanks for the info! And how hot was "hot" in the summer there? We are usually spring and winter cruisers but our friends don't have very flexible schedules so July it is.
  20. What is the weather and mosquito situation like in July/August? We've been in March to Lamanai and it was pleasant with no insects, but have July planned this coming year.
  21. Did this cruise in May. For Aruba port day, you'll have time to do an excursion before the sunset cruise too. I highly recommend the Kukookanuku Beach Bus excursion. It was a blast! And the beach it went to was really nice, although I think the location varies by bus. We still had time to get back on the ship and have a little rest in the cabin before heading to the sunset cruise. We've sailed Horizon twice. Be prepared for a long queue at the comedy venue if it's a good comedian. Other than that, I've decided it's my favorite ship.
  22. Just curious how much you spend to get these offers. Usually my Early Saver offers are better than the ones I get for the casino even. Occasionally we get a DOU offer in the casino buy never anything like this one. Jealous!
  23. This is good to know! We have a booking for 2023 under my VIFP and it has DOU in the casino but just for me. DH has same offer but I didn't know he could add the DOU. How do we do that? If we wait til on board, that promo under his name will be expired. Thanks for the tip!
  24. Did you have to be actually playing to get the drinks? I have one of those promos and wondered if I could just go to the casino bar while DH is at the tables playing.
  25. What is the earliest time you'd recommend a flight from NOLA after leaving the Glory? Carnivals website suggests 1130 but could it reasonably be earlier? I've found they recommend far too much time for Miami so am wondering if 1030 or 1045 at MSY might be fine to plan.
