  1. It will be interesting to hear how your cruise goes.
  2. All my past sailings they have done so. The only thing I don't believe is comp'd to Haven guests that day in the diner are the milkshakes.
  3. as TexasGal wrote, the concierge will explain it to you. For us it meant meeting in the Haven lobby/bar area and being escorted down to the tenders via a back elevator. We could get priority disembarkation at any port whether tender or pier.
  4. Ironically at our liquor store it is more expensive than Capt Morgan. Only by about a $1.50 but certainly not a "discount" spiced rum.
  5. Priority getting off the ship and priority getting back on. That's it. Oh, and able to reserve cabana's at the island earlier.
  6. Thank you, this is an excellent post and I love you showed all the wonderful people trying to make your vacation an trip to remember. I think one of the things some people who haven't sailed miss prior to going is how hard the staff works to make it a good trip. If you take a minute and think, they truly try to make everyone feel valued and special. We have had one cruise where the concierge was less than stellar. It's unfortunate because they can play such a significant role. However, just like you, adapt and overcome and it can't ruin the vacation. Thanks again!
  7. Since you asked. No one on here with any sense of reason would ever think you are trying to be an "influencer." You posts are well thought out and full of information and you provide a common thread of to each their own, make their own cruise what they want of it. So, like the people who post false information to watch the online fire drill, like those who vandalize others property or create computer virus' and those who enjoy 'messing' with people, the author of that e-mail is clearly looking to ruin your day, night and cause or inflict whatever pain they can get. What I would wish you to focus on is all the thank you's, appreciation it's, and other quips of thanks you have received over the course of several posts. I doubt there are any of us who have read your posts over the years that haven't learned something or perhaps altered our thoughts regarding our own vacation. As you said in your comments earlier you chose the high road, don't be surprised when those who take the low road attempt to drag you down with them. I guess my point is simplified to say there are likely thousands of people who have benefited from your posts, and apparently at least one that is irritated or took notice enough to try and mess with you. Don't let the bast**d get you down. Enjoy the view from the high road.
  8. Gary, thanks for your response. It doesn't take long reading these boards to know those who voice their opinions without attack and who simply try to inform others of their experiences. You certainly fall into that helpful category. I've never appreciated those who post to create arguments that don't exist, it's like vandalism, but in more of an intellectual sense. Still pointless. Thank you for all your comments and helpful advice. Best of cruses to you.
  9. The concierge on the Getaway, at least at the time of our sailing.
  10. Do you have David's direct e-mail, he gave it to me on the last cruise and when my Iphone synced with my pc, Outlook deleted it from my phone and I've lost it.
  11. I agree with the thought of to each their own regarding being in the Haven or out of the Haven complex. Back to the original posters question. When considering between the two rooms another point to consider is the living room versus a single room. My wife loves the fact when the butler brings in coffee in the morning, she's not laying in bed in front of him. While I doubt a butler cares and they are very efficient and quick in set up; she feels obligated to jump up and dash to the bathroom prior to him being let in. With a living room and and a separate bedroom, privacy is assured and the morning starts all the more relaxed. For our cruise she has prioritized having a living room and separate bedroom as the 1st and most important issue. As others have said, the extra bedroom area, the extra bathroom are all bonuses. Given the choice between tight or too large, I'd always error to the side of too large.
  12. I think there is a good chance PaulBrowning never sailed. Just joined, 4 posts all about Haven priority embarkation being non existent. The new terminal @ miami has a dedicated Haven boarding area. There's zero chance NCL is phasing out the Haven priority embarkation. These kind of posts are all about getting people fired up about non-existent issues.
  13. Typically they will ask how many glasses when you order the bottle. Once ordered, it's your bottle, share as you like.
  14. I don't think I asked a security worker, I believe it was a porter. Bottom line is 'ask' someone. Find someone and ask. In Harvest Caye we had to tender, the line going back was very long. We asked a crew member walking by and they took us up a separate path to the head of the line. In my opinion NCL tries very hard to make the Haven experience special, without hassle and without long lines. Most ports were designed prior to the Haven experience, so they have tried to adapt, but still leave a bit to desire regarding signage, hence why you have to ask someone. Start with the porter and if that doesn't work, look for special services. I've never been in any port where I couldn't find someone to ask for directions.
  15. Did you ask if there was a separate security line? We sailed out of NOLA and when we got there I and there was only one line I stopped a port attendant and asked. He answered, "Oh yeah just go up there" and pointed so where some security personnel were standing. When we got up there they were helping a family with a person in a wheelchair, but once they finished they asked us what help we needed, I told them we were in the Haven and they brought us right in and took us through a side security line. We then were escorted to the front of check in and then to the Haven lounge, and then on board. A couple traveling with us took 1 1/2 hours to get on board after us.
  16. You can buy the streaming using a discount from already having the free at sea. I've done it twice.
  17. Yes but with the caveat that wifi service is somewhat spotty on the ship and therefore your service will vary depending on your location and I suppose the number of others using the same hotspot.
  18. Do they sell the Vibe passes online, I thought there wasn't any choice but to buy them once onboard.
  19. Maria doesn't have a direct call back #. Hence if you want to contact her directly you either have to e-mail her or leave a message to have her call you back.
  20. Yes she can request you as a guest, when we sailed it was $50 per guest, but recently I believe the cost has risen. I made the request through the concierge, but she might also be able to make the request through the maitre 'd at the restaurant.
  21. In my experience you can ask, usually all the person can do is say they will give them a note to call you back. Maria is absolutely the best onshore concierge; consequently she's very busy, but she has always returned my request for a call back.
  22. I hesitate to enter this conversation as I am about to prove myself 'not totally correct' on my original beliefs. I too believed in the joint partnership which I still believe exists and might interfere with NCL being able to extend ship privileges to guest on the island. However, I do have to say based on NCL financial disclosures and actions it appears they (NCL) does own the island outright. Again, I think the operations on the island are joint in nature but as far as the deed goes, it appears NCL owns the island. As reference to support my position, please read the following link -- https://edition.channel5belize.com/archives/202447 In short it references NCL's use of Harvest Caye as collateral when floating bonds for their 2 billion dollar loan to help kick start back up after the COVID shutdown. A direct quote from the Prime Minister of Belize (quoted in the article), "Norwegian having bought the caye free and clear certainly and legal was entitled as they have done to put it up as part of the collateral for the loan or the bond that they were floating." I still believe NCL had to come to an operating agreement with the Belize Government as Belize has ruled all the islands as national treasures. So even though NCL could buy it from the previous owner NCL likely had to make some agreements with Belize to be able to do what they have done to the island and be able to hire staffing. Just thoughts, nothing to support it with actual proof.
  23. Wonder, as well, if poor granny packed all her clothes in her luggage, set it out that night and woke up the next morning only to realize she did not leave clothes out to wear to get off the ship!
  24. And you get to keep the slippers. The robes they will charge you if you take them, but the slippers are yours to take home and remember a time when you have nothing to concern you!
  25. I realize the forum name is West Coast Departures... however I can't find a West Coast Arrivals forum; so you have my question here. What type of services should I expect to find upon disembarkation day of my cruise. Will there be ample Uber or `car services drivers close by? Is there a Porter service which will take my bags to the airport and check them for my flight? My ship is the only cruise ship on the calendar that particular day. What recommendations or items should I know ahead of time?? Thanks in advance for your helpful comments!
