  1. We should make every attempt at driving them into bankruptcy... however I cannot condone nor participate in alcohol abuse... can't pour drinks overboard, will just have to consume them! 🙂
  2. Awe but then we must hope your offshore account gets debited when someone drinks far more than their $109's in drinks. You should immediately review your contract and make sure the evil powers @ NCL don't have you at a point where you can owe money and consequently get debited more than ever credited. 😉
  3. @Sthrngary If you get a chance, and happen back through the casino, could you check the craps table(s) and see what the pass line odds are and what is the minimum bet? Glad to hear you have found some great new experiences, and thanks for all the answers you have provided.
  4. Can you let me know what the craps table odds and minimum bets are? Thanks!!
  5. there's always a chance if you keep it up this thread gets locked as well.
  6. You know, when I 1st read this, it made sense. Now that I've thought about it I can't reconcile that at the non haven bars it's priced at $16 and so that would mean the Haven was up charging and additional $7. @Juncti said in an earlier post in this thread they didn't think the Haven would discount the drink prices and in fact would possibly up-charge over other ship bars. Again, I think I'll have to disagree, respectfully. After all the Haven delivers a higher cruise experience, albeit at a steep up-charge. So selling Crown at $8.00 rather than $16 gives those who want it the price withing the premium package. For those without a package it makes it very affordable. All this said I have been unable to re-locate the menu to which I referenced. I have seen a couple which do so Crown in the premium package in the Haven. They claim to be 2022 menus, but mistakes can be made. So, like sthngary, I plan to make this a quest on my next cruise in February. It won't be the same as individual shots at several bars is not the same as getting a bar menu and ordering Crown Royal to see the price, but what the heck.... start slow.
  7. I think it's even money. A number of posters are claiming the ban is in effect at least on certain ships. Yet we have a poster who contacted corporate and says there is no such ban. Hence, i can't call this any other way but even money. Further I think the bet should only apply to the Premium beverage package and not the premium plus. Yes more shot cocktails might be available with the plus package, but still all should be available with the base package as you would just pay the additional charge. Interesting as I saw a drink menu that priced Bailey's at $16 hence taking it a dollar out of the premium package. They did list another Bailey's generic available under the $15 price. In that same post with menus I also noted the Crown Royal was priced above $15 dollars at the main ship bars but was priced at $8 in the Haven Bar. Not to side track this ambitious thread, but have you ever noticed drink prices to be different between the Haven Bar and all the other ship bars? Thanks and I look foward to your report, thanks for being the man! I for one have no doubt you will play it straight and try to ferret out all the nuances of all the possible factors Cruise well one shot at time.
  8. Those posts are within this thread.... Gary said this is the only thread that is reporting this, not that your post is the only post reporting this. To me he's simply trying to say give it a week and he'll have yet another real time update. Plus, I would suspect if there is a ban, he'll be able to likely give us more specifics.
  9. Are we taking wagers on the outcome? 😉
  10. I should have included upgrading once on board. Absolutely you could check and then go upgrade. I was concentrating on having assurances prior to boarding and consequently didn't expand my solutions to once on board.
  11. We are able to connect to our Lorex camera app with zero issues. I do think where you connect on the ship can have influences on your latency and connectivity, but you should be able to check from time to time with not too much issue.
  12. In today's world I would say no, there is no absolute certain way to know. IF your expectations are that specific I think you could be risking a huge disappointment if they aren't met. Not sure the the alternative of paying the difference between $15 and whatever Macallan costs isn't a fair alternative.
  13. I hear you! I'm just not at the point where I think NCL is intentionally stocking low or going without on purpose. Given all the supply chain issues I'm experiencing I can't point fingers at others when possibly the same thing is happening to them.
  14. Do you mean I should re-read your post regarding the thread switching to remarks about the premium package and not the premium plus package. And the math differs quite a bit rationalizing between the two packages? If so I got it, and my response fits right in, addressing the premium plus package and the math or lack thereof that I use to justify it. In addition my response goes way back to the original poster... who was looking for ways to take advantage of the premium plus package, which my response again address my method. it's late in England, get some rest.
  15. No I didn't. I just didn't answer specifically to you point. I answered with my opinion which does take math out my reasoning. It appears you really do need a vacation.
  16. I trust you are referring to the specialty dining package included in the free at sea promotion?
  17. So I'll take math completely out of it. Being on vacation I want to order what I want whenever I want without having to justify to myself if the 'extra price' is worth it. With the plus package I won't have to do the math, ponder if it's worth it, wonder what my bar bill will be at the end of the cruise. I can just sit back, indulge and enjoy. I'm not even worried about what is in stock, they will have plenty that I will enjoy and some I don't even know about but will come to enjoy. For me vacation isn't about math and milking every dollar for the maximum return, it's about enjoying all the time I am on vacation with out the everyday concerns and considerations.
  18. Can you confirm or put to rest whether you can order a 'mixed' shot at the bar. Some examples would be minnie beers or candy corn, B-52's, stone cold stinger, a snowshoe, kamikaze, pirates treasure, three wise men. Thanks and hope your cruise is fantastic!
  19. Which sadly proves anyone can write something to rile up others and create essentially a post about nothing, which gets several contributions and keeps getting bumped up the list to stay relevant.
  20. As far as I'm concerned this is the best advice of all time. Years ago, we booked on the Norwegian Sea. I booked a room as close to the sun deck as possible. It had a porthole that was partially obstructed by a lifeboat. What I didn't realize is because the ship only had one suite, the room we booked was also served by the concierge. She was fantastic! The best concierge we have ever had, not to say some haven't come awfully close. During her introduction she made a point to emphasize she can't do something we want unless we ask! So we did ask, and she made our trip one I'll never forget and always appreciate. As SthrnGary has written several times, ask for what you want. If the crew can't do or find exactly what you want trust that they will work to find a comparable solution or as in many cases a solution you actually prefer but didn't know existed. Exploring new things, making new friends and expanding your circle of experiences; sounds like a good time to me!
  21. Maybe, just maybe because it isn't a bourbon at all. 😉
  22. I concur with Juncti; if it was an expense issue, and NCL thought they could charge more for mixed shots than they would include it in some drink packages as an incentive to have guests pay an increased revenue to offset the expense. In business why would you cut something off people want? In most business scenarios you would offer it ala carte and package it at a higher cost gaining margin on revenue over expenses. I'm thinking (i.e. no specific knowledge, simply an opinion) the policy change has much more to do with management feeling people get drunk on these shots and by eliminating them it will slow down how quickly people get intoxicated. Many people can drink these sweeter shots but won't do straight shots of base alcohol. Rarely do we hear of over indulgent stories, but they must happen and I don't think it's a stretch to think someone in senior management looked to this policy as an answer. It's kinda a standard approach, eliminate the item, and don't bother addressing the cause.
  23. Concur, diner only on day one; and chalk it up to another experiencing.
  24. There's so much to do on a cruise, you can't possibly get it all done. Every time I've disembarked at the end of the cruise I still have things I wish I would have had time to try. So, if you are open to trying new things, or if you just want to relax... you're covered in port or on a sea day.
  25. Sounds like a NCL business practice decision. Suspecting several factors affect the rule, many of which unless you are familiar with the business we might not even think to consider. Why should we have an opinion? To what end does it serve?
