  1. So, if I understand you correctly you waited until you were on board to elect to take the free at sea package, and then paid with on board credit?
  2. Very well put! Knowing the policy is critical. I think it should be the basis of expectations. However as in life many times the policy is able to be broken given certain circumstances. Knowing you are getting more than policy allows should feel great, but having to abide by the policy should not hinder your enjoyment of a vacation. After all, policies aside, it's always our choice to enjoy the day, or not.
  3. Meeting new people is some of the most fun of any vacation for us. After all, it's likely we would never run across them if it weren't on vacation. As an added bonus, 'most' people are in really good moods while they are on vacation!
  4. That's a great story! If I see the sign at the bar I'll move it off one chair and join you! 🙂
  5. It's a funny observation! Do you think guests will start to get up early and place a personal item at their favorite bar chair to reserve it all day? I agree with it's a great place to meet interesting people and share a story or two. Growing up in Montana, bars were social places to gather, so I'm always at home at the bar.
  6. Just bought spa passes for the Bliss, it's a 15 day cruise and the price average out to $25.26 per person per day. davencl's price averages at 25.54. Given that information I would be you will be very close to $280 per person.
  7. I would say there might be 1 exception... which is the three glasses listed under the "Coravin Experience" While the wines are served by the glass, the glasses are listed under an "experience" which is specifically excluded in the PPBP terms.
  8. Thanks for posting! Hope your cruise is going well. Do you find the bartenders are making you creative drinks or helping you explore 'other' liquors>
  9. We sailed in 2020 on the Getaway in an Aft Cabin, 14th deck, I think 14872. It was a total of 5 minutes to the Haven private area, a walk we never minded and since we were on deck 14 and the entrance was on 16 we always used the stairs. Having a living room and a separate bedroom was fantastic, and especially handy when the butler brought breakfast in the morning as he didn't have to disturb us, just set up and go. The rooms also have two bathrooms, which isn't super important to use, but does come in handy. As for the deck, ours was not one of the super sized, but it was more than enough for us. We hosted a party on the deck with 14 people in attendance, and there still was room for more. Being aft, we never had a bad wind, we didn't experience soot as some have, and watching the wake while underway was incredibly relaxing. Additionally we really enjoyed the 250--270 degree view while in port. Note -- the window washing trolley is stored alongside the aft on deck 14 on the Getaway, so the view forward along the ship is partially obstructed. In conclusion, for us, we love the aft cabin and have booked it for our upcoming Panama Canal Cruise. LIke any cabin on board, it has its pluses and minuses. For us the pluses far out way the couple minuses.
  10. If you can upgrade at a price that works for you... than the upgrade only increases your options on board, and personally, whether single or not, More options is always a good thing! Good Luck
  11. That would be the likely, yet there aren't any great read eyes.... and still I think a very good chance for delays that cost a timely arrival. There's time for them to reconsider and at the least request a day or two earlier arrival.
  12. Thank you to those who shared your experience with planes being delayed and NCL's response. I couldn't agree more on flying in a day early. Coming from Montana we lots to consider when flying during the winter. Deicing can be delayed and consequently cost us a late departure, weather might as a whole cost time for departure or cancellations, and we have to fly into hubs which often have their own weather issues, and now add with the pilot shortage flight cancellations can be more frequent. Hence I'm a firm believer to fly in no less than one day early and for this upcoming cruise we will fly in two days early. There's plenty to do in Miami for one day and I'll have far less stress while "on vacation" not worrying about making embarkation. That said I asked the original question because a couple traveling with us opted to use the NCL 2nd guest flies free. I originally thought they opted for a 2 day early deviation to fly in but learned last night they are coming in whenever NCL books them... up to the day of. Currently the earliest flight from Montana on the day of embarkation gets to Miami @ 3:39pm which is nine minutes past the latest boarding time for embarkation. Obviously the time to get luggage and travel to the port might make it as much as an hour or more past the deadline. So those of you who have had experience in the same scenario, again thank you for passing on how it was handled. I'm going to use your input to encourage them to at least request a 1 day early deviation so the risk will be less they miss embarkation.
  13. I'm wondering if anyone has ever used the NCL airfare program, had NCL book their flights and then flight delays caused you to miss the cruise? Coming from Montana its almost impossible to fly to Miami same day and get there in time for embarkation. There might be one flight that makes it. I'm curious if that is the case, and one of the flights is delayed, what does NCL do, if anything, to help you make the ship? Also, if they fly you in the day before due to no possible flights, do they help you with hotel or are you on your own?
  14. Has anyone ever missed their cruise departure due to NCL booking a day of departure flight schedule and then the airlines had delays, consequently delaying the flights till after initial cruise departure? If so, how was it handled?
  15. For me Craps is the best table game. I learned to play because it has the lowest house odds, combined with the social aspect of the game and the exhilaration of a hot table, for me it's easily the best game in the casino.
