I've said it before & will say it again. If a seat is vacant for an hour, we'll move right in & remove the belongings & hand them to pool staff. No one is entitled to leave their stuff & take off for lunch or whatever else for an hour(or frequently more) and expect to plop right back down. Had VERY few issues. I just tell them you can't hog the seats & then tell them to get lost or I'll get security. Sounds nasty, but stand your ground or be trod upon. It's your choice. My spouse is the one on the right in our Icon. He handles it & I enjoy the show.

If you are Elite(not sure about Platinum) If it says Platinum USE IT!! There is NO real reason to the times.

I'm from New England so I'll take a shot. Newport: Take a tour of the gilded age mansions. Good eats near the port Boston: Do the Freedom trail/Museum of Fine Arts/Public Garden/Seaport district. Food: Mistral/Mooo/Grill 23/Union Oyster House(if you are just meat & potatoes, skip it) Bar Harbor: Acadia park(a must see) the town itself is rather trashy. Tons of bars & low end restaurants. Seafood should be good, but few of them can even make their own Clam/Fish/Seafood Chowder(always ask if it's made in house. You'll be surprised how few do. Better restaurants outside of town (check OPENTABLE or Reserve online) Halifax: Not been there, but I hear it's nice. Great seafood should be available near the shore.

Try going to a bank! Personally, I find passing out $2 bills as really cheesy. Same with dollar coins. Remember the fees they have to pay to convert currency. We don't tip on drinks(they are already there) We'll tip the Sommelier for his/her expertise(they don't have them on Princess)

I hope you have "proof" of Captains retirement fund. He/she are Salary NOT hourly & do NOT share in the tip pool. Same goes for the shoreside & other types of non ship employees. They are NOT included in the hourly crew tipping pool.

Normally, we don't do packages. I may drink about 2 bottles of wine(per 12-15 day cruise) My spouse doesn't drink, so it's not expensive for us. As to tipping, we leave on the daily gratuity. There is a special place in Hell for those who remove it & screw over the staff. Normally we tip extra as well. on the loger cruises we take, normally we leave about $100 for our cabin attendant About $75 for the asst.cabin attendant. Normally, we don't tip extra for wait staff, as we do the anytime dining & always have different staff each night. Most of our cruises are on Oceania with a scattering on Princess(depending on itinerary) We're surprised at the amount of Princess pax who now cruise Oceania. Food quality can't be compared between the 2 lines. Oceania has no art auctions/annoying photographers/annoying daily interruptions/All soft drinks are complimentary. Same with specialty restaurants, except one that does wine & food tastings. Next year we may try MSC's Yacht Club. The rest of their ships are pretty mainstream.

Not to mention those terrible little boys with shiny patent leather shoes standing around the girls all looking down at their shoes for some strange reason.😝

We tip & surprisingly the internet(on all lines) has actually been pretty good.I never held high expectations on internet when you're moving on a ship.

We've been on several Celebrity cruises until the food quality diminished too much. At that point we switched to O. Never saw women asked to remove hats on any cruiseline before.

The Ears were at an Easter party last year. As to "laundry" One pair of pants for a 10 day(or more cruise) is still pretty gross.. I doubt the person would wash them regularly. Yes, I've been near some pax who did not clean properly.No matter your opinion it's disgusting.

Well, perhaps if she dressed reasonably, it wouldn't have happened. I've seen plenty of Pax pics when finely dressed. Why not for the slobs? Perhaps she'll see this & have the courage to give her own opinion. As for us, my spouse would have had a good talk with the Maitre D. If he/she is unwilling to reasonably enforce the dress code, then you can bet a complaint will be made to the hotel Maitre D mgr.on board.

Sport coat is not required, though many bring one. Wearing the same khakis every night is pretty gross unless they are washed.One person's expensive flip flop is another's pool wear. A pair of flip flops with a Louis Vuitton label on them does not make them appropriate.You've read the dress code. It's simple enough. If you can't/wont comply then please choose another line.

We tried the HS a few times. The name was far better than the taste. Overall, we found it to be rather bland. The cruise line, I think make very nice ice creams

Problem is that some pax embrace the lowest denominator of style.(completely ignoring the published policy) I think they do this to get a rise out of others. Maitre D's frequently have no "balls" because they are afraid they may upset a paying customer(wow!)Well, what about the rest of us who make a reasonable effort to dress nicely to enhance the ambience? Our Cruise on Jan.31-Feb.11 had pax overall very well dressed, but we see reports from more recent cruises of some really slovenly dressed pax. Why was this, I wonder. Even in Terrace pax were really quite nicely dressed on our cruise.

They are also called "the Double Wide" at sea.

I hope the Regatta meets your expectations. We prefer the Riviera, as it's larger without being overwhelming.

Ok. One sport coat/3-5 nice shirts/2-3 nice pants/undies & some "casual beach wear" etc.I'm sure that does not equal a very heavy suitcase.Remember there are washers on board.

I've seen the pool act like that before on many lines. A person could get smacked on the side of the pool. It looks cool but you can really get hurt. I'm surprised it wasn't closed sooner.
