  1. Thank you for showing me a picture of the metal strip that you place the medallion against. You may be one of those people that do not like the formal (suit/tux for a man) and that is fine, but my sons look very handsome when they are dressed that way, and they do it for ME, to bring a SMILE to my face, as I don't seem them dress like that very often. So my question to you is, are you saying the "dress to impress" is about the same thing to you as formal night? In other words, there USED TO BE what they called, formal nights. So maybe one of those nights would have been the Captain welcoming the people aboard the ship, and the other is what you call dress to impress, as what "I" call formal nights now?
  2. I just seen you did a review on the Regal too, as the 8 of us are to do it in February. My question. You said the first formal night was the first sea night. Was this the night they had the champagne tower, and the captain greeted the new guest on the ship?
  3. Thank you ALL for your input on my question. I was just informed that in August they had just updated the two different packages, and more than likely, would not do that after the first of the year, so we would probably be alright to purchase them before February, without any changes, hopefully.
  4. I am not talking about the ship that was ask about, but I understand (we are doing the Regal in February) that there are two formal nights for a 7 day cruise. I believe one of the formal (call it what you want) nights is where they have the champagne tower, and the captain greets the new guest on ship.
  5. If you know, at Mahogany Bay, what is the charge to ride the chair lift, and is the price for riding to/back? If you did it, was it worth the price to ride it?
  6. When you say you put the medallion against the "plate", is that a metal strip, or what, when approaching to get something, and for them to know what room to charge it to?
  7. This is a question for "whoever" might be able to answer it. Normally there are TWO formal nights. Is one of the formal nights considered the champagne tower/the Captain greeting everyone on board to his ship, and then one a regular formal night? Maybe the champagne tower/Captain greeting everyone is not quite as formal, but it can be?
  8. Caribill, thank you for your input too, in regard to the Champagne fountain. You mentioned it seemed to go along with the Captain's welcoming everyone aboard the ship, which gives me an idea to LOOK for when this is going to happen. Do you remember if it was early evening around 6:00PM or later? Just curious, as I don't want to miss it after doing it 23 years ago.
  9. Looking forward to seeing/reading your review as well. So far I have been able to read a couple that have just happened, or still in the process now. There are 8 of us doing the Regal on the 25th of February (wanting to get AWAY from Missouri weather 😞 ), and I'm trying to read everything pros/cons about this ship. 🙂
  10. There are 8 of us that plan to cruise in February. One of the questions was, WHEN is the best time to purchase one of these packages? I have been reading quite a few peoples comments, and several have been disappointed, after purchasing one of the packages, and one of the items that was on the package is NO longer. Do you think waiting until the end of December, or the first of January would be too late to order one of these packages, because of the changes that are going on?
  11. Thank you for your responses to our my questions. I'm glad we still should (for ME) be able to have a picture taken (even if my family does it) pouring the champagne or whatever, as I did that 23 years ago. We have not purchased the Plus or Premier package as yet, but if I understand right, if we do, we should get the medallion free before our cruise, hopefully.
  12. I just "discovered" you in regard to your postings on Regal, as the 8 of us plan to do it in February for the first time, and hopefully plan to follow in your postings.
  13. So does it have to be the Plus Package to get the medallion mailed to us free, or can it be the cheaper package deal ($60, $80), if you know?
  14. Well I am still NOT receiving your postings in my emails like I was before, so I'm glad I can go to CC and find them HERE. 🙂 Thank you for showing the picture of someone pouring the champagne (I did this 23 years ago on the higher tower) or whatever you call it, as I would like to do it again, for one of my family members to take a picture, once more. Someone mentioned that it didn't look like there were very many young people (they had been on Carnival) under the age of 60 or so, and I am much older than that (most people don't think I am by the way I look/act), and that may be true, but they must remember, this time of year, most young people are IN school.
  15. I don't know what happened, but I was receiving ALL of your postings by email, and then all of a sudden they STOPPED! I had to go to Cruise Critic, just to find you, and "catch up!" Question about the fountain. I was thinking it had already happened, but you had said it was crowded, so maybe you didn't see. I was wondering how a person ( if they wanted to) would be able to pour some champagne in the fountain, as I had seen a picture where a lady was doing that?
  16. I have a couple questions. Did I read some place that "IF" we wanted to make sure we received the medallion in time, we NEED to pay $10.00 for them to ship it to us? If so, did you find it worth it in the long run? I figured I put out enough for everything else on Princess, let alone "another" $10 to be putting out. I see where Regal Princess has the champagne tower. In the picture I seen, I seen a lady on a platform that helped her reach the tower to pour the champagne. If you have done it recently, or know of someone who has, do they charge for a person to do this (if so, how much), or if a person wants to do it, they will let you do it?
  17. I liked the way they had the robe hanging up, and the way they had the arms folded around it. 🙂
  18. CrusinSusan70, I'm GLAD to read NOW, that it was a joke.
  19. Dreamscaper, thank you for letting me know there ARE some other items that are for sale close to the end of the cruise. The reason I say this, someone had just posted and said it was champagne, and I had NO interest in wanting to buy that. 🙂
  20. That makes SENSE, that he (the friend that JUST got married) is NOT cruising with you.
  21. Saint Greg, you JUST heard from your friend who is going with you, and he JUST got married to someone he has known less than a month. Oh my, what kind of decision is that??? 😞 Mary Ann 2, thank you for your input to give me a little "idea" of what some of the speciality restaurants, and other food places serve.
  22. CruisinSusan, thank you for your input in regard to my question of "normally" the cruise ships sales of $10 - $15. If it is champagne, I definitely will not be attending that sale.
  23. The different ones that have posted about different places to get food really helps me. Now one of my questions is, do I have to Google, or whatever the "name" of the "specialty restaurants" to find out what kind of food they serve, or how do I go about to see their menu?
  24. Thank you Dides, and especially Duchessrn, that list is very helpful. 🙂
