  1. Radio, once again as several have said, thank you for taking us along on your trip. I have a question about the golf range, or whatever you want to call it. You may have checked it out or you may have not. My son said it was a put, put range, and I said it was miniature golf. If you checked it out, was it like a "normal" miniature golf range, or just the put put?
  2. I am so enjoying all of your review, and especially ALL the pictures and videos. I know you are on your last day, returning to Galveston. I never thought much about Galveston before, until the 8 of us decided to take the Regal the 25th of February, and it was leaving Galveston, TX. It then dawned on me John Denver's song, Galveston, oh Galveston....., and I guess that was the area he was singing about. 🙂
  3. The Cat Bus was so cute. 🙂 So many of buildings in these ports are in pastel colors, which I love, compared to the drab (ME talking) browns, blues, blacks a lot of our buildings in the USA are.
  4. I like some others have said, are looking forward to reading/seeing your review on the Princess Regal, as this will be the first time for 7 or 8 (still debating if one other person will be going with us) of us doing the Regal in February. Getting AWAY from MISSOURI weather is what we HAVE to do at that time. You re doing a different itinerary than what we will be doing, but at least we will get an IDEA of what the Regal is all about.
  5. Matt266507, my thoughts as well when possibly doing the Uber (going in the day before) from the airport to the hotel (we don't know this as yet either). Also, once we know our flight schedule, we might do Princess, that is if we need to be at the airport in a short period of time. Other than that, we probably could do the Uber too. I'm curious also of the cost and how long it took?
  6. CruiseQueenKC, well then we are almost neighbors. Our 2nd born son lived in Shawnee for quite some time, but now our twin sons live on each side of us, as we live in a village where every one has one acre or more. I will say it is pretty convenient for us when going to the airport, as it is close. Also for when our family/friends fly in for us to pick up. 🙂
  7. P-Pete, that sounds good as I have never eaten it, but have heard of it, and hopefully I can get some on our February 25th cruise. 🙂
  8. Yes I do know that there is no hotel that is obligated to be a shuttle for us. We are just waiting until it gets closer to the time, and then we will be calling/checking into the hotels and see what they offer.
  9. Good question, as we will be needing/looking for one in February.
  10. OK, I may be completely wrong, but if we get a hotel that is within a few blocks of the cruise pier, (maybe I am wrong, but I thought I read that there were hotels close to the cruise pier) are you saying the hotel still might not have a shuttle to take us to the cruise pier? I know we will have to get transportation to the hotel if it is in Galveston from the airport, and also transportation from the cruise ship back to the airport.
  11. c-Leg5, yes it may look like I am "over thinking" everything, but I feel with ALL these suggestions, everything will fall into place. When we fly into Hobby, we just want to go to the hotel and not check anything out in Galveston, stay over night, and then "make sure" the hotel has a shuttle to take us to the cruise ship. As for getting to the hotel from the airport, and returning back to the airport from the ship, when it gets closer for our cruise time, it will be taken care of too.
  12. Paula MacFan, where do you live in Kansas? My son had suggested of driving there as well which may be possible in "Missouri" weather, and it is a chance a person would have to take. The other two sons/wives work, so they would not be able to do the driving ahead of time, and would have to fly in the day before as planned.
  13. Rocketman275, I have a feeling you are right. The reason I say this, we were out eating tonight and my grandson was with us, and we were talking about hotels and transportation. He then spoke up and said that the company he works for gives a discount at a hotel or two in Galveston, and showed me the price, which didn't sound too bad. So I'm thinking my/our problem is someone taking us to the hotel in Galveston from the airport, (I/we will check first at the hotel and make sure they do not pick up their guest at the airport first, before booking someone that would do that for us)and someone picking us up from the pier and taking us back to the airport.
  14. Galveston cruiser, although I have contacted Galveston Lemo Service, and they have got back with me with their "summer" special price, but not what the price will be in the winter months. Whynot77, thanks for letting me know it was just the two of you, as someone said, that sort of sounded a little expensive. I know for the 7 or 8 of us, we will check and see what the hotel has to offer around the end of December or the first of January, and then go from there, hopefully finding someone that has a good price if needed, if the hotel does not take care of us. My d-i-l said the last time they cruised, although this was in FL, the hotel picked them up at the airport, took them too the ship, and picked them up from the ship, and took them to the airport, as well as staying over night at the hotel, and the price seemed to be pretty good. The only bad part is they may not have an affiliate hotel that is connected with them in the Galveston area that will do that, but it doesn't hurt to check into this first.
  15. Whynottry77, just curious. How many people rode in the vehicle for the ride and luggage, with the price you quoted? I'm still in the "thinking" mode of how much Princess charges, if you get my drift?
  16. cmich068, if you think of it, would you mind posting your experience with them if you think of it?
  17. Crewsweaper, yes you are right, I have been to Belize before, but it was NOT yesterday, and trying to "remember" the many ports I have been to through the years can be difficult at times. Also, things DO change down through the years.
  18. Greytgrey, I don't know what "date" you are doing the Regal in February, but we are doing the Regal the 25th of February. 🙂
  19. Brovol and Exploring the Globe, I agree completely with Brovol as at MY age I never dreamed I would have one of THOSE phones, but I do. I never figured I would learn how to use it, but my d-i-l taught me and as a lady older than I said, it HAS a wealth of information. I find the difference between my generation and the generation of today, I do NOT carry/keep it on my body! I tell people if they need me and I don't answer, just leave a message and I will get back with them. As for what Exploring the Globe said, I agree completely about the "title", as that caught my attention, and I think the big word AVOID the Regal really made it sound like it was a bad ship. Actually I am LOOKING forward to cruising on it for the first time in February.
  20. Someone had recommended to check out Galveston Limousine for transportation from the ship to the airport. I have read some reviews, and some were good, others were not, so that is why I am ASKING here. My question, if you have used their SHUTTLE, would you give me your pros/cons of using it? Were they on time for pick up, once the ship had arrived back from the cruise? Was there plenty area to put the luggage on or under the shuttle? The price seemed very good, but I still hesitated and wanted to get other's opinions on the Galveston Shuttle especially.
  21. Bob20019, AMEN to that. Ever since this bombing, etc. started last week I have been praying for ALL of God's people over there, especially for their protection.
  22. Bob20019, I agree. Anyone can "complain," but TRY to find the positives in life. That is why when I get ready to cruise, I try to think on the "positive" side, and if something goes wrong, I just "deal" with it. 🙂
  23. For those that are on, or were on the Regal this year, I'm glad to read your good responses. We are to be on the Regal this coming February, and I'm looking forward to the trip, and I/we will DEAL with the internet situation.
  24. Tablerocker, just curious, where in MO do you live? Since you use the name "Table"rocker, our home away from home is on Point Seven in Kimberling City, and we can walk to Table Rock Lake.
