  1. As we will be flying in from KC, MO (normally cold/bad weather) in February, that is a good suggestion to check on the weather forecast before we arrive at the TX/Hobby airport.
  2. OK, I went back again to check out Galveston Express, and Island Breeze, and this time for "some???" reason, things seemed to look a little better. So I thought I would go ahead and check them out "ahead" of time. I just emailed them and I'll see what kind of response I received. Thank you for your input on this.
  3. Once again, thanks for the last postings I received. I WAS getting excited, as I thought to myself, YES this sounds like it will work out fine. I then checked into Island Breeze, and the way it read, the area it was in TX did not renew their contract. Then I checked on Galveston Express, and when I read 6 or more reviews from "this year," they were all BAD. Now I am really concerned as either one of these would have worked out in price, compared to Princess Transportation.
  4. Thank you EVERYONE for your responses to my questions, and especially Skynight, which was very helpful.
  5. Crusinsince75, thank you for your response with the prices. My main problem as I have never used an Umber/Lift, I have no idea with these 5 that you have listed, how many people they carry? There will be 7 or 8 of us, and that is why I ask.
  6. I went to the Regal Princess deck plans and was able to get an "idea" of what decks/locations a few places are. Can you tell me first what deck/s the Princess Theater is located on? Here are a couple names and if you have been there, can you tell me what they are about? Gelato The Enclave Bellinis The Shops - are Princess shops on two decks? Princess Live Cafe Princess Live Plunge Pool compared to the Fountain pool? Horizon Bristol - difference between this and the Horizon Court and Terrace Sports deck - I did not see any miniature golf shown?
  7. Thank you ALL for your responses. I was surprised that the "buffet" was UP above our deck. Actually with all the cruises I have been on, I think the highest deck I have been on is 8 or 9, so this will really be different, and the Promenade was generally on deck 5. Actually I NEED to look at the deck plans, and just see where everything is located before we leave. Brovol, you mentioned of using an Umber from the airport to the ship. Do you remember what the cost was per person? Just curious?
  8. If you have been on the Regal Princess deck 14, was there anything good, or not so good that you found when having that deck for your room? In other words, were you able to get to another floor or activity better or not? I did get information from my PVP of the transportation cost pp, to/from the Hobby Airport. I'm just curious (if you remember) how much you paid for an Umber or Lift driver to the ship from Hobby Airport, and see which might be the best way for cost of transportation for us.
  9. Thank you for your reply to my question.
  10. YES formal night, or fun night for ME, I agree. Thanks for the info in regard to it normally being on a port day, and generally on the one with the earliest departure time.
  11. Thank you ALL for your replies. Our itinerary is starting on Sunday, and ending the following Sunday. Our sea days will be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, with Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as port days.
  12. If you are on the Regal Princess now, or have been on it recently going to the Caribbean or Mexico, can you tell me what two days or nights are formal nights on a 7 day cruise? Also, are those two days the two main days that they take most of the pictures?
  13. That sounds good. Now "IF" I can get my family to want to do this, I will be a HAPPY Camper. 🙂
  14. Thank you ALL for your pointers, as I have made notes on this issue with the Hobby Airport, and time wise with traffic too.
  15. OK Mike, as you can guess, I have NEVER been there, so that is why I was asking these questions, as the other people DEPEND upon me to sort of organize what/where we will be going, etc. In regard to the other person that answered, at this point I have just been checking out SWA, and they will be flying to Hobby Airport.
  16. Thanks for letting me know about Galveston Express, and I'll see what I can find out this way. If I remember right, the cruise ship is a little over $50 each way.
  17. Thank you for your responses. As you can TELL, I did not "realize" that we were NOT landing in Galveston, and therein I SEE why Mike07 tried to find some humor in my question! I now understand that give/take it would probably be an hour or less from the airport to the ship.
  18. Thank you "both" for your replies, as I have written this information down, and just "checked" to make sure if/when that time comes, I was able to contact either of them. I know there will be 7 or 8 of us, but at least it won't be like 15 which I wouldn't want to be involved in. Up till just about 3 years ago, I have always just done my many cruises with one person, but now I have been inviting my 3 son/wives and a friend, as my husband is a homebody, if you get my drift?
  19. I know I am waaaay ahead of time, but I am trying to find out "time wise" how long does it take to get "normally" from the Galveston, TX airport to the Regal Princess ship? Not always, but normally the ships arrive around 7:00AM, but "getting off" the ship might be another issue to get to a Taxi, etc. to take us to the airport. I want to have enough time in between, so we won't miss the plane.
  20. I'm in the "thinking" mode of doing Punta Sur in Cozumel because of the lighthouse, and even the surrounding area that I just seen. There will be 7 or 8 of us doing this in February next year, and I'm going to see if I can get my group to do this. It was mentioned of snorkeling, and most that are with me like to do this too. I see where Black Hat Tours was recommended. My first question (that is "IF" they did), did they pick you up at the ship port, or some place else? Also if I look under Black Hat Tours, will they be in several locations, or just in Cozumel? Also, just a "ball park figure," what was the cost per person if you remember at that time, as I know most cost have gone up.
  21. Thank you for sharing the review of Punta Sur in Cozumel and the lighthouse that I was asking about, and especially the surrounding area as well. I just "might???" get the rest of my group to want to see/visit this as well. 🙂
