  1. Sounds like an interesting fellow. I think I may know him!🤣🐀
  2. Yep. Thanks. I would add "but would I rather just NOT spend that money and invest it for my family's future wellbeing or other good causes?"
  3. My income and expenses are totally irrelevant to my choice of cabin. So yes, I was able to actually answer the OPs question. That places me clearly in a very small minority. I don't live by the equation: "Income - expenses = money to throw away on things I don't need" That said, it sounds like you and many others might.😎
  4. I wear slippers, sweats and untucked chino shirts. 100% comfortable (priority one) and compliant (priority 53).
  5. I don't believe that either of those have a dress code.
  6. I have some advice my friend. Consider each email from NCL about the safety video as a brief reminder that you'll soon be on a cruise!! The five minute (or less) walk to the muster station? It means YES, I am on the ship!!! Woo Hoo!!!🤩
  7. Well, if you really want to spend over four times as much to upgrade to a balcony....🤣 You are now my hero.😎 Note to our fans: this will NEVER happen if you don't start by booking an inside.
  8. Actually, it sounds like you know me pretty well. 🤣 To clarify, $25 is the point where I would NOT upgrade.😎 I did once upgrade from an inside to an OceanView for a buck fifty-eight.
  9. The promos are not cruise specific. During the promo, any cruise you book will allow the double/triple promo in effect. Otherwise, you just book a cruise with one CN and then add more during the next promo. This doesn't work if the cruise you book is past the regular final payment date.
  10. I find it ironic that some have invested more time in posting in this thread than they ever have for an NCL check-in.
  11. Twenty-five bucks per day. I've upgraded from inside to balcony twice for less than that. Otherwise, I sleep and shower just fine in an inside. If I need more light, I flip on another switch.
  12. Sure, if they "want" to have to join the stampede early in the morning because they otherwise won't have enough time to enjoy the port.
  13. Sounds like a good reason to just avoid crappy itineraries. Anything that makes me have to fight the mob to get off early ain't worth it. That doesn't sound like a fun holiday.
  14. Well, I guess going around some velvet theater ropes might be "sneaking." I wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't be shocked if many/most of the nervous types would.
  15. I book a Shorex before the cruise in case it sells out. I get on the ship, go to the Shorex desk, and have them cancel/rebook to consume my shareholder non-refundable OBC and return my original funds to apply to DSCs. That's what most are talking about here. Some of us don't believe that NCL's craptastic IT tools are capable of ninja giving my spot to some fictitious "waiting list." disclaimer: I've never asked to be placed on a Shorex waiting list (but I've never seen reports of people doing this either). Does such a thing really exist?
  16. There will also be hundreds (or thousands) that want to enjoy a relaxed breakfast while the nervous types run down to the exit point(s). I can understand an early excursion (which I generally avoid), but otherwise don't understand the rush.
  17. I've done this several times and never had an issue. Have you ever seen a report here that somebody lost their place in line doing this? I can't believe that it ever happened until we see an actual report. It never refunds to the original form of payment if cancelled on the ship. Unlike the OP, I generally do NOT have prepaid gratuities so any refunds are eaten up by the DSCs.
  18. All Americans? Every one? You mean that there is at least one thing where all Americans think the same? Wow!!
  19. Has anybody recently used an NCL ship's supposed "cell tower?" How much were you charged by your provider? With cheap/free internet and wi-fi calling, I'm not sure why I would ever need to use a ship's cellular. I've just seen the blurb in the daily about making phone calls from your room for $4.99 per minute. That's great if you have an emergency and the wi-fi is down (again). Otherwise, not so much.
  20. Southwest will. I've taken advantage of that many times.😎
  21. I just sailed the Spirit. Jacked a few unopened bottles of water from the Skagway train when it returned and easily carried them right back on the ship in plain sight. I even waved them in front of the dude and he said just carry it through the metal detector. Nobody cared.
