  1. Why? The most successful US Airline (the one that didn't go bankrupt after 911) has never bought a plane bigger than a 737. Just because the other guys "go big," doesn't make it the smartest business decision. A common theme here is that many folks prefer the smaller NCL ships.
  2. This is bizzare. I've never seen anybody clean off their own table in the buffet. There are crew assigned to do this and they do a great and prompt job. Why do you think it is rude not to let them do their job? Might be insulting. Why are you comparing a cruise ship to McDonalds anyways?
  3. Isn't that intended for crew use? Are you sure they want you doing stuff there?
  4. Much higher cost? Are you including depreciation? Fuel? I drive a Toyota with a nice V6 and have zero interest in one of those new 4 cylinder, Turbo things. Probably cheaper than buying a whole new ship! Remember when the airlines figured out that widebodies were going to bankrupt them (again), and went back to smaller airplanes that could land anywhere and they could always fill up? Deja Vu baby. ("bondo" 🤣) disclaimer: bondo is a necessity and adds value when used and applied correctly
  5. We'll see. I sailed on both Sun and Sky last year, and they were in great shape. I've heard even better about Spirit, which I'll be on later this year. I believe that the smaller ships can also visit more ports, so that it may be more complicated than 1 + 1 = 2. Also, some itineraries may be more profitable at 2000 capacity than 4000 capacity, if they struggle to fill the 4000. I'm sure NCL has thought about all of this and have a strategy that they've put a lot of work into.
  6. Don't you think that they want to grow their business?
  7. You must just have an honest (pays his bills) looking face!
  8. I guess it's a good thing I don't live in one of those states. I would have to update my "out of state expired ID" before they would fix my broken leg. My 90 year old relative has only an expired DL, yet she has gotten medical and dental care recently without incident. Is she just one of the lucky ones?
  9. NCL issued luggage tags have no impact on how quickly the bag makes it to your room, even if it says "PRIORITY."
  10. I'm not. I'll just keep cruising.🐀
  11. Good for you!!!! I'm not surprised.🤣 Is it the same view I get from a cruise ship?😎
  12. I am delighted. Tendering (and the risk of missing it altogether) were the only two things I didn't like about GSC. Otherwise, it is fantastic to have ready access to a safe beach with free food and drink in abundance. I especially like that we should be able to go back and forth to the ship during the day. I would gladly skip Tortolla if the ship could overnight at GSC. Hmmm....
  13. Thanks for posting a link. This is cool. We're currently booked on the Aqua in early 2026 and it sounds like the GSC pier is expected to be ready by then.
  14. You may be doing it wrong! (that was a joke)
  15. Can you see the ocean and an occasional whale from your front porch? Does some nice dude serve you drinks? Do you get sea air and a nice relaxing rocking of your porch?
  16. IIRC, they have the overflow in LaCucina. At lunch they had the noodle bar and pizza. It's a great option, and tended to be quieter than the buffet proper.
  17. I've never been asked for my government issued ID at my dentist or doctor. Have you?
  18. It's because that is not how the buffet is designed. Do you also find a cleaning rag to clean off your table before some unsuspecting person occupies it and enjoys your "germs?" Yes, that's because it is their job. Where is this "cleaning station" that you're talking about?
  19. This should give us a good chance to see what happens when somebody tries to add a second CN to an existing reservation, with the added CN having been purchased after the program changes on Jan 11, 2024. Anybody?
  20. A "grueling cruise?" Now that's the very definition of an oxy-moron.
  21. I sail steerage and NCL mails me tags about 1 in 4 cruises. I always check in exactly 21 days out. There is no rhyme nor reason to it. We just need to figure out what is unique/special about Debbie.
  22. I like watching whales much more. Heck, I like watching waves much more. And clouds, and....
  23. It looks like you are correct. Lacking context, they looked like the side window areas to me.
