  1. When was the last NCL sale? I don't ever remember one.
  2. That's funny. It's binary. You either follow the rules or you don't. Anything else is a very slippery slope.
  3. You have a building code for your house? How would an inside cabin fail to comply? Well, you might show a bit more respect for those who aren't "you." Then again, likely not. Some can't afford more than an inside. Some choose not to waste money on things that they don't need. Some want to spend on that favorite human being in the mirror who is more important than everybody else. "Enjoy" that.
  4. Never. They fully understand the OBC thing. Unless you're dealing with the new guy.
  5. Finally, after 16 pages, somebody points out the obvious.
  6. The call that the Captain made is to "follow our process." There was not on-the-fly decision making.
  7. That makes sense. I was describing a scenario where a person was intending to go on an excursion. They get the same $50 laundering per excursion benefit by cancelling/rebooking on board. Each time I've done this, I've been purchasing CNs on the ship, so essentially the laundered shareholder OBC goes toward payment of the CNs.
  8. Don't you wind up in the same place with more expensive excursions?
  9. I've only done it at the Shorex desk. I barely trust NCL's app for viewing the dailies. You would need to go there anyways to turn in your vouchers for the original reservation you are cancelling. Can you even do that on the app?
  10. Let's clarify. Luggage drop is generally in two locations. While a previous sailing is disembarking, early embarkation arrivals are directed to the South end of the port building where there is an "early drop off" station. This is in the same area @valleyvillageis referring to where embarking passengers enter the port building to check in. Later on, when the previous sailing has largely disembarked, arriving passengers will check their baggage towards the North end of the port building, right off the street.
  11. I've booked/paid in advance and then cancelled/rebooked on the ship. People claim that there is a risk of losing your slot to somebody on an alleged "wait list" but most/all haven't had this problem. Certainly, if the Shorex is not sold out when you do this, there is zero risk.
  12. Yeah. That looks "safe." What could go wrong? (with pregnant, elderly, disabled....)
  13. The Captain has a job to do. It is a responsibility to his employer and its shareholders. He hasn't the luxury of overriding that with some internet poster's sense of what's morally right. You should be ashamed of yourself for spewing such nonsense.
  14. That takes me back!!! Shouldn't that be "we're in the Itchy lot?"🤣
  15. I would tend to agree to a point. That said, I think the entitled me-me-me types are more prevalent on cruise ships than many other places. I grew up in the rural midwest. Have lived in a medium sized city half way across the country for decades since. I had to spend some time back there last year and, WOW, everybody seemed so nice! This wasn't Minnesota, but the phrase "Minnesota nice" is real man.
  16. Ironically, I never forget to do that. Hmmm.... I have a Bloody Mary on the ship prior to disembarking and I drive to the Airport with only Caffeine and OJ. Could there be some kind of connection here?
  17. No hate. It's a reasonable question, for many types of physical limitations. Some of us are just old, out of shape, overweight and/or no longer have the level of stamina, coordination, agility we used to. I've actually gone to only considering NCL level 1 excursions for DW and me. Even some of those are more than I want to deal with, especially outside of the US and Canada where ADA is largely unknown. Those open air "busses" used in the Carribean aren't much fun for us. They are loud, cramped and hard to enter/exit. And that was last in St. Thomas for us, which is first world. I can't imagine signing up for such adventures in second or third world countries.
  18. Right there with you brother (or sister). Although, I will hit the treadmill and drink some $10 Prosecco with dinner. I fully embrace the carefree steerage lifestyle. Both at land and at sea.😎
  19. I'm here to help (well, usually). I was actually wearing black moccasin slippers with black Dickies athletic socks. Those compliment my black jersey knit sweats well from ten feet away. The "good" people think I'm wearing nice slacks with penny loafers. They think I'm dressed to the nines, when they are actually a decimal point - or more - off. I may again need @IAcruising's help with the math. What they don't know won't hurt them (until they read my threads on this forum). Fortunately that "hurt" can go away with a few aspirins. Unless it's a deeper hurt. I can't help them with that.
  20. I've read a good pro-tip is to take a photo of that sign as you exit. One of these cruises, I will actually remember to do that.
