  1. There is also the Galeria Mall on Sunrise Boulevard a few miles north. They have Macy’s and maybe a Saks.
  2. A few weeks ago we returned from an 8 day ABC cruise with our adult children, early 30’s and late 20’s. We were in two adjacent sky suites. The previous year we sailed on the NCL Prima in a two bedroom Haven suite. At the end of the trips the “kids” remarked about how much more they liked the Celebrity experience than the NCL. The Haven is nice but the menu in the restaurant never changes. The service outside the Haven is less than stellar. The service in the Haven was good but not at the level of Luminea. They just seemed to be going through the motions. I will say that we did love the Haven only elevators. The 2 bedroom suite felt dark and crowded while the sky suites are light and airy. We did enjoy the go carts and all the other fun things on the Prima but that’s about 10 minutes. The gym on the Prima is small and crowded. The suite on the Prima came with WiFi and a beverage package but you do have to pay to upgrade them. The WiFi was spotty at best. I don’t know if they have upgraded in the last year. The specialty restaurants on the Prima were very good but none of them can compare to the experience of La Voyage and Eden. I hope my family’s experience helps make you decision.
  3. Welcome back to South Florida. My family was on the previous ABC island cruise on the Beyond and it was wonderful. Our only complaint was the Aruba “small group” tour that you are planning. You pay extra for a small group. You start off at the dock with 40 people (not small). They put 10 people in each jeep and travel as a group of 40. (Small groups are defined by Celebrity as 20 or less). One of the jeeps got a flat tire and the rest of the group had to wait. I spoke to the shore excursion folks when I got back and they gave me a partial refund. Basically the difference between and large group and a small group. The tour was fun but by no means a small group.
  4. Did you need a visa for the New Zealand stop and the Australia stop?
  5. We did the Haven 2bedroom family suite. There was a king size bed in the primary room and a second bedroom with a queen that did not separate. There was a pull out couch in the living room that according to my kids was more comfortable than the queen bed. There were two bathrooms. Moving around the primary was tough. Not a ton of space.
  6. You will not get the ship with in a ship feel that you get in the Haven. The biggest difference is that the dinner menu changes in Luminea every evening while it stays the same in the Haven. I once had a pasta dish that was served with shrimp switched out with chicken. Once when I mentioned to the chef that I really missed the meatball entree that Celebrity used to serve, he hunted down the menu and had it ready for my dinner two days later. You will get priority tender service if you have a tender port. As mentioned you get seating in the theater on elegant evenings but unlike the Haven where you go to the Haven lounge to be escorted, your butler will be in the theater. the Retreat has tea every afternoon which is a lovely touch. They serve lovely sandwiches, scones and small desserts. While they serve drinks in the retreat there is no physical bar like in the Haven. There is a bar on the sun deck. I hope this helps. I enjoyed both experiences. I have sailed in a suite in M, S and E class with a sailing on the Beyond. I recently sailed in a suite on the Prima. Both are different in different ways. Enjoy your cruise!
  7. I was on the first leg of your trip and I can’t agree with you more! This ship should either be in the Caribbean or the Mediterranean. The attention to detail is non existent. Which makes it very frustrating. They come so close to being really good only to fumble on the one yard line. There was a bug in my Caesar salad. Everyone apologized but I never got another salad. The service in Hudson’s was terribly slow. One lava cake had a melted center the other didn’t. I love the concept of Indulge but the execution is awful. There is a host stand in front. They should use it. The go carts are super fun but it’s cold up there. Syd Normans needs to be redesigned. I get the concept but it is a victim of its own success. The best bartenders on the ship. We had the best room attendant ever on a cruise but our butler was just so so. All in all it was not a terrible cruise but definitely not in my top 10. I would sail on the Prima again but on a warm weather itinerary
  8. We recently sailed on another line that had an overnight in our last port. Due to weather we could not dock until the last day. Several people missed flights because of this issue. Just a cautionary tale.
  9. We were there on the Prima Transatlantic cruise. We did Ala cart. It is good for cruise ship sushi. Very fresh and tasty. The sake that is sold by the glass is included in the beverage package and is served.
  10. We just got off the Prima cruise that ended in Iceland. We were supposed to overnight in Reykjavik and then disembark. Because of bad weather we only disembarked in Reykjavik and did not overnight. We arrived at 3am and disembarking started around 7. Some people had flights in the evening that we were supposed to overnight and missed them. I’m not sure about those who had flights the day we arrived. Disembarkation was a bit of a mess mostly caused by not enough people shoreside telling folks where to go. Bottlenecks of people just standing around waiting to be told where to go.
  11. I have sailed on both Edge and the Beyond on Celebrity. The Beyond is an amazing ship. The Retreat on both ships is lovely. I have sailed in the Haven on two of the “Away “ ships. Again the Haven areas are lovely. I love that the smoking areas on Celebrity are only outside in very limited areas. I have lung cancer and the smoke really bothers me. I am sailing on the Prima on Sunday in the Haven. I am looking forward to the smoking area in the casino is in its own room. while on the surface the Haven seems less expensive than the Retreat. The cost does not include everything on NCL like it does on Celebrity. We have spend an additional $3000 on add ons just to get to what Celebrity would include (unlimited premium drinks and unlimited premium internet) Food is a very subjective thing so I will leave that. Entertainment is much better on NCL. I enjoy the small club atmosphere venues. We are looking forward to our trip on the Prima and will see how it stacks up.
  12. I have a shellfish allergy and have sailed the Edge 3 times and the Beyond once. Luminea handled my concerns perfectly. On one evening they had a pasta with shrimp but they made it for me with chicken.
  13. It’s raining again. Not as bad as yesterday but it’s raining
  14. I just saw the noon news and the water is not receding as fast as they would like.
  15. I was on the Edge in January. There were no reservations for the Peletons and if there were there was no one there to enforce a reservation. Two of the bikes were out of commission for the first few days and were brought back about midway through a 11 day cruise. Mornings were crowded but afternoons were empty with no wait for the Peleton.
  16. You do need to know that even if you book a suite you don’t get the “extras”. This is fairly new. We booked in November for a January sailing in a suite and checked our reservation and no internet, classic beverage package, and no gratuities. I called back and they made a one time only adjustment. My DH husband is sapphire. I don’t know about the higher levels.
  17. I have to agree about in IV. I booked a last minute trip on the Edge. I went in with an open mind. At first I was lukewarm but by the end of the cruise I loved it.
  18. I can’t tell you about the Summit specifically but in general the Peletons on Celebrity have the cage pedal with the clip on the other side you can reserve your bike but there is no one there to monitor that
