  1. I don’t know much about Celebrity suites but was this your only choice for a table to eat breakfast? I would have hoped your suite had some sort of table with chairs.
  2. Sure every country has unique rules to follow for immigration, but a lot of the issues were completely Celebrity’s responsibility. Celebrity sending people to the wrong location for passport pick up, misplacing passports, not handing out landing cards to everyone, conflicting information from guest relations, not returning required documentation until a few hours before departure, etc are completely Celebrity’s responsibility. I think Celebrity completely misunderstood the scope of work required to process the guests and did not have sufficient staff to complete the work in a timely manner. But to be completely honest I’m not exactly sure what Celebrity did other than provide a customs card to be filled out prior to getting off the ship. At the end of the day the guests just provided a copy of the visa they obtained independently to the Indian authorities and we left the ship. @Norwaylady Thanks for the heads-up to print out the Sri Lankan ETA, you were ahead of Celebrity by a couple of days.
  3. That’s an interesting perspective. Up until now, Celebrity has shown absolutely no interest in helping anyone apply for visas
  4. @terrydtx Thanks for you pictures at meal time. I’m still on the fence if I should book the Oosterdam or I should wait until Celebrity announces their 2025 South American cruise schedule early in December. At this point, I think I like the Celebrity ships a lot better but your dinner pictures of the prime web may tip the scales to me booking a HAL cruise on the Oosterdam.
  5. Thanks. For the couple of HAL cruises I have taken in the last few months, one of the weak points seems to be accounting. It seemed like I was always at guest services trying to get something fixed and the cut the line ability was very helpful.
  6. @terrydtx I’m currently on the Edge and tonight is the final chic night with the lobster tail. I was planning on sending you a picture of the prime rib at tonights dinner for comparison but prime rib isn’t even offered. 😔
  7. I understand the benefits of CO for the Pinnacle class ships but I didn’t think the CO benefits were worth the costs on the other ships without a separate dining room. What CO benefits do you find useful on the Oosterdam?
  8. Maybe you should ask what kind of activities Mrs yvr49 has in mind for you on the sea days. 🤔
  9. Just to be clear what I wrote. I described the area by the balcony railings, not someone looking into your cabin. Your outdoor balcony is a public area and subject to camera surveillance. Maybe you should consider that before you decide to join the balcony club, smoke or flick your butts into the ocean.
  10. @terrydtx I saw that you have previously cruised the Oosterdam, now that you have cruised on a Pinnacle class ship, do you think you would be happy on the older smaller ships? We are thinking about booking the Ossterdam for a South American trip and I’m concerned that we might be disappointed.
  11. There are lots of cameras monitoring the balconies, it’s likely that security would see pictures of someone standing by the balcony railing smoking or flicking butts overboard.
  12. 😭. Anyone that reads these boards will quickly understand that the new orange X doesn’t stand for excellent. It’s more likely to represent EXcuses.
  13. Sounds like you’re describing the new Celebrity
  14. Sorry the smoke is disrupting your cruise, we experienced the same thing on the Rotterdam. I agree with you that HAL needs to step up and eliminate all indoor smoking.
  15. Don't forget bragging rights for the entire CC community and that is priceless.
  16. Congratulations, I think you were the first to report that you got the points. 😀🎉🎉🎉
  17. It sounds like you doubt me. 😅 Yes, vaping can set off optical or ionization sensors but not heat sensors.
  18. I'm not sure when your cruise will occur but keep checking back for more mobility limited excursions. Another possibility would be that you and your wife could sign up for an excursion but stay on the bus for the part of the trip that requires a lot of walking or step. Check with the shore excursions reps for ideas. I might not suggest purchasing an excursion under these circumstances but if you are using dedicated money that can't be used for anything else, this still might be a good use of your time to see areas of the port.
  19. Thank you for posting. I guess I was hoping that if you watched the webinar early enough for the October 14th window, then the points would have been posted in October. Looks like my hope wasn't justified. Now as far as records retention policy goes, I think most major corporations expect that all emails will be deleted after 90 days unless they are required for a business record or a legal hold. I try to follow that policy. Admittedly this email falls within the 90 day window, so thanks for keeping it the entire 90 days. Emails older than 90 days may well be outdated and can be confusing. Perhaps you can interpret Power Up points emails as a business record.
  20. I’m surprised anyone keeps the Power Up emails from Celebrity. Can you post a copy of the email?
