  1. Quarantine meals are currently a lot better on the Equinox. You could order whatever you wanted from the dining room menu. Room service would call you ahead of time and ask for your order and when you wanted it delivered. They were usually on time and the temperature was fine. My wife enjoyed her lobster tails on the balcony.
  2. I go there for cooked-to-order eggs, pizza and cooked to order pasta. I know those are hot.
  3. That's my biggest complaint about the OVC.
  4. Be honest with them. Tell them that IVs are miserable and that’s why you booked a suite. Let them know that you probably won’t see much of them because the Beyond has a ship within a ship concept and the suites have several private areas. Suggest that you book another cruise where you are both in the same cabin category so you can cruise together. Don’t let a friend ruin your cruise. If they have cruised before, they should understand the problem
  5. Shhhhh. Maybe or Maybe not. I can tell you that if you are doing your own self-tests onboard, it’s probably not a good thing. If you don’t want to cruise, here’s another test you can use.
  6. I don't think you recognized that those were designer clothes.
  7. You'll never find my wife on a cheap Carnival. Nothing but the best for my DW.
  8. Me too. I even had the new Bivalent Omicron vaccine and I caught Covid on the Equinox last week. Getting sick wasn't fun but there has to be a better solution than staying at home in my bunker for another 2 1/2 years.
  9. You don't need a negative test result you only need a picture of a negative test result. You can test yourself today and save the picture of the negative test result or you can use a picture of my negative test result. Here you go. Enjoy your cruise.
  10. If I have a choice, I prefer looking at the women in very short skirts and not your hairy legs.
  11. How could you do this? Don't you have any respect for your fellow cruisers? How do you expect anyone to enjoy their meal while you're wearing shorts? Unbelievable. 😉
  12. Thanks for asking. Not terrible but not good. It's just like a normal cold that seems to keep hanging on and won't leave. Today is day 8 after I tested positive. My DW is a few days behind me and is still very fatigued.
  13. Most people seem to be focused on your question about the restaurants but you also seem to be asking about other public areas after 5. I have never seen any dress code suggestion from Celebrity for public areas after 5. I'm sorry if it offends you, but you will often see me roaming the ship in the evening in my shorts and a T-shirt. I change back to something more casual after dinner. Shorts and T-shirts are acceptable in the evenings. We can even wear swim suits for a late night hot tub dip.
  14. I tested positive last week on the Equinox on the first leg of a B2B. My positive test was 3 days before the end of the first cruise and I was not given the option of staying on for the B2B. The Equinox has a Quarantine Concierge and coordinates all of the quarantine care and benefits. In all honesty I was ready to get off the ship, it just wasn't fun at that point.
  15. I just returned from a 10-day Eastern Caribbean trip on the Equinox and I upgraded to the premium package for one device and had the basic package for the other. I have never experienced better internet service on a cruise ship. I was able to surf the internet and stream network tv from my home cable system with any buffering the entire trip. Even from my 8th floor balcony. My wife was able to text, email and download Kindle books without any problems with the basic plan. This was certainly different from my experience last August on the Equinox with a lot fewer people. I don’t know what changed but it was certainly great last week.
  16. The last voyage on the Equinox sailed with about 2600 passengers. The Equinox capacity is listed at 2850 and I assume that is with every bunk full. I have no idea about the number of crew onboard but thinks seemed to move very well without lines at select dining. The only place I saw a line was in the ocean view cafe waiting for ice cream at lunch on a sea day. My sense is that there are fewer cabin stewards so your room may get serviced later in the morning or evening. One additional observation is that many of the officers and directors seemed much younger than I remember. This maybe due to the expansion of the fleet or some of the older people deciding not to return after the pandemic. Overall service levels seemed to have returned to pre pandemic levels on the Equinox
  17. Maybe there was a CC email that awarded 10 PUP for grumpy posters
  18. You don’t need to test, all you need is a picture of a negative test result. Here’s a picture of my test. You’re all set.
  19. Currently on the Equinox and every crew member I see inside the ship is wearing a mask. Maybe that’s because they know I’m one of the Covid + cruisers on the ship.
  20. I’m okay with Ukraine using as much capacity as they can get. For my money they can even prioritize putting more satellites above Ukraine, they can use all the help they can get.
  21. Jim, I’m sure you discussed this somewhere in your last two long reviews, but could you summarize what the procedure was when you tested positive on your B2B? Did you need to cancel the following legs or did Celebrity do that for you? Did Celebrity issue you refunds or did you need to use insurance? Where you able to get medical records from the ship indicating that you tested positive. Thanks
