My cruise on Zuiderdam is not until July, but I just got an email from HAL telling me how great the spa is - blah, blah, blah. They said I should book now! In the past, I have never received any ads about the spa until after I was onboard the ship. I won't be booking any spa appointments because of the fiasco. Jacqui - Thanks for letting us know what happened at the spa. It's good to be informed about it before boarding the ship. I appreciate it.

The "suits" in Seattle should realize that this is a very serious problem. They need to do something about it.

Jacqui - I'm very sorry to hear that. The woman in the spa should not be working there. Last summer on the Zuiderdam, I had a mani/pedi and I had to sign the bill before leaving. I wanted to buy one item, but there was no pressure to buy anything else. I had a good experience. I'm glad the lady went to Guest Services.

Jacqui - I hope your room temp remains ok. Thanks for all the updates and food pictures! For dinner, I would have had a Cosmo (or 2) followed by chicken, ham croquette. For the main I would have ordered the Artic char. I've had it on HAL and it was very good. For dessert, I would have ordered cherry crisp and tea. I like all of the crisps! Enjoy your PG lunch! I agree that it's good you can order a small portion. In the past, waiters would be worried if I didn't "clean my plate." They said they would bring me something else. I said that the food was very good, but the portion was too large. I told them I like to save room for dessert - I have a sweet tooth. LOL I order a small portion when needed.

happytotravel - I agree with you. People should pack what they enjoy wearing. Years ago, I packed too many things for dressy nights, but I only wore my favorite things. Other things stayed in the closet. I have some nice dressy black slacks that I wear with "sparkly" tops on dressy nights. As someone said on these boards, "no one cares if you wear something more than once."

Correcting errors on the ship is SO much faster than calling HAL on the phone or emailing HAL after you get off the ship!!!!

Jacqui - I'm glad you had a good birthday dinner for Deb - nice birthday cake from HAL! That's great you enjoyed your day in Boston. 😊 I lived around the corner from the Bull and Finch pub before the Cheers TV show made it famous. The character Norm was based on a real life person who always said "One more beer and then I have to go." It was a fun place. HAL needs to get some crackers for the cheese plates!!
