  1. The free drinks package?? That's amazing?? Surely someone who really likes you has purchased it as a gift?? And for some reason their names were missed off the card you received? So you can't even say "thank you" It's a strange one for sure. I don't believe P and O would give that as a gift. Instead they would give more OBC credit surely? If they felt they wanted to reward you?
  2. Well a day that started with a wine tram tour in Franschoek at 11.30am finished with me singing "Daydream Believer" by The Monkees at 11pm in a Cape Town Karaoke Bar - 80kms away That's what a wine tram tour can do to you I guess!! Lol
  3. So we are in Franschoek (near Cape Town) waiting to board our wine tram. There are upto 9 vineyards on our tour we could choose to stop at for tastings!!! I think 3 or 4 max in reality for us All sorts of tastings to have alongside the wines Cheese, meats and chocolate!! We will be trying all of them!! Lol It's going to be a fun day
  4. I had pre booked a transfer with our Airbnb provider and we paid cash as it's cheap But the same taxi company does take payment by card as I've just pre-paid them for a longer trip we are doing tomorrow To enjoy a wine tram experience which looks to much fun By the way entry into Cape Town for us was the quickest immigration queue I've ever seen anywhere and the cases were already on the machine as well. There are some amazing places to choose for a meal/and or cocktails at the waterfront You will be spoilt for choice Tonight after the rugby I just bought 4 sharing platters of food for 6 people and three rounds of drinks for 6 people Came to 79 pounds approx
  5. Over 4 hrs delay means big money claims In the meantime enjoy the extra time on the ship (assuming you weren't waiting in the airport?)
  6. The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront Complex is incredible. 100 eateries to choose from. Some real high quality options at a fraction of the price of UK food and drink We didn't know where to start or stop!!! Lol I can see why so many people say Cape Town is their favourite holiday destination I think I want to live here!!
  7. We have arrived in Cape Town What a place!! We have tickets for sale sharks playing the cape town team at rugby tonight. The 5 star Radisson Blu hotel has a brunch with premium drinks and cocktails included 1pm to 4pm every Saturday. Take a look at the link. It only costs 38 pounds each per person!!! Lol with premium drinks and cocktails included https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGe6etEVv/
  8. You could aim to get there as early as 6pm if you wanted I think arriving any time between 6pm and 8pm would work Seem to think the taxi took about 45 minutes to get there 2.5 hrs to 3 hrs once there is as much as you need I think to see It all and enjoy some food and drinks and the market stalls Obviously you don't have to eat there but it's very much part of the experience I would say Loads of lobster being cooked plus lots lots more
  9. We did this on the Friday night before we flew home on Saturday day That's a good time to do it for those on Saturday flights
  10. Not a cheap decision then. I imagine passes might still be available when you board (but don't quote me on that) If so maybe if you ask to be shown around it will help you decide whether it's worth the investment
  11. Certainly it would only be the sea days when you would really see any significant benefit On those days although I say 7am would be early enough to secure beds near the swim up bar you are of course very close to other sunbed compared to the retreat once they fill up Are you school holidays or not? The drinks will be o.k maybe Was interested in whether they include cocktails? At the swim up bar we enjoy iced cocktails (we have to pay of course but not overly expensive for them) There's no wrong ro right answers on what you should do IMO
  12. Bad news for us Going to have to treat ourselves in other ways I guess "Thanks for making a bid for an upgrade on your upcoming flight. We're sorry, your offer has not been accepted this time around."
  13. We did it on the first cruise we did on P and O whilst the kids would be in kids club Can't remember the booking rules then. I do remember it was a lot cheaper back then Seem to think daily passes were subject to how busy it was back then The downsides are the food they will serve in there is no better than what you will find in the buffet and very limited choice. So we would leave for food albeit we had a bit of the fruit on offer You still have a battle to get the best sun loungers in there. Depending on whether you want sun or shade etc. Ie the best ones are taken early like everywhere else. Also when the sun and shade changes your are stuck with what you already have as by then all loungers will be taken pretty much. Unless you leave the retreat. What it really gives you is more space around you and some comfier sun lounger options. And obviously it's quieter there What are the free drinks you are thinking of? Re bunfight at 6am. On a seaday on Arvia 7am ish will secure great spots near the swim up bar on the normal decks and the Retreat didn't have a swim up bar last time I checked Are you holidaying in school holidays. If so maybe it's worth it. If not I'm not so sure Not worth it for us as we are early risers and able to secure great sunbed spots without paying near the swim up bar
  14. Thats great fillet steak cooked rare available every night should I want it Can't wait to take advantage!! Not every night. But it beats the standard sirloin steaks they normally serve in there for sure
  15. Just asking for a friend? Lol Do they ask for any proof of any disability? Or can anyone try this?
  16. Thanks Is this something that people do a lot in the ports with overnight stays?
  17. Hi Guys First time azamara cruiser here. We are booked on the Pursuit Cruise that starts on 15th January from Cape Town We have an overnight stay in Port Elizabeth which leaves the next day at 1pm Are cruisers allowed to stay off ship overnight at a Game Lodge for example If so what time would we need to be back on the ship for a 1pm departure And do we need to inform the ship we won't be back on the evening?
  18. I would say with the waiting on the coach and the journey (we also stopped for 5 mins on the journey) it was between 60 mins and 75 mins (With an extra 20 to 30 minutes sat on the plane waiting to be able to get off) I think they hold coaches back to ensure it doesnt get overcrowded at the Port but was strange as when we got to the Port there was barely any queues and they moved fast. So I guess it worked in that respect. But sitting on coaches in the sun not moving at the airport for 30 mins plus was annoying
  19. With TUI you will get off the flight and have a tiny walk to a coach which will take you direct to the ship and your cases will be delivered to your room It's normal to have to wait a while before steps come to the plane at Barbados to get off and again on your coach before it departs the airport from our experience and what I read from others We waited 30 mins for both last time which was annoying Once at the ship though it took us less than 15 mins to get through the admin and on the ship And then about another 2 mins to buy a cocktail! Lol Smooth and easy but annoying waits as above What's made you think it will before different this time?
  20. Going to try keel and cow as well. Keep hearing good reports about their steaks In amongst MDR dining
