  1. Nor me on Arvia and Iona Not good locations (part of the Atrium but not closed off in any way) Also never been tempted by Keel and Cow due to the location but keep reading great reviews about the steaks there so will have to try next time
  2. We tend to eat early ish Which must help
  3. Never had to wait more than 15 mins for any glasshouse on any P and O ship when we've just walked up But maybe we've just been lucky? I enjoyed the meals better there in the past. Lots of trios of stuff now. Rather than one great quality single item on the plate IMO
  4. In June you won't be in school holidays You will enjoy a quality cruise Nothing like Butlins The closest thing to Butlins on Arvia and Iona would be Brodies bar or the Clubhouse bar at busy times Both places are very easy to avoid if you don't like busy atmospheres (Can't remember if Britannia has those exact bars or has equivalents) we went on her on a staycation cruise for 3 days You have got absolutely nothing to worry about And you will always be able to find some good food to enjoy
  5. You can pre-book speciality restaurants and theatre and on your first day could organise MDR for the whole trip with a short conversation I'm sure Based on the times you are looking for
  6. The meal is excellent IMO - similar to celebration meals in MDR at least Seeing as the limelight club is sold out throughout normally there won't be prices for going there without a meal You could of course have buffet before you go in and not eat the meal if you don't fancy it
  7. Great reports Keep them coming. The more the better. It's like being on holiday with you!!!
  8. Sounds good. Everything settling down now. We are all jealous of you (apart from Mrs Goggins of course) who we are all also jealous of!
  9. There are also some 10.30pm theatre shows 6.30pm should be a time you can reserve every night at least for yourselves and possibly to share with 4 others if others have requested the same It's later times that you might have to use the app for. But it's easy to use anyway. If not there will be people on the ship who can help you make your reservations We are looking at the same cruise. It's fantastic value for money There will be very few families at all on that trip - mainly couples and singles so should be a very calm environment It's a lovely ship with lots of other dining options and entertainment options to try if you are inclined
  10. People really should not underestimate the extra costs gratuities can add to cruises Don't think P and O get enough credit for the way they operate in that respect
  11. Can't believe a UB40 tribute didn't sign "red red wine' Have a great cruise I'm sure you will!!!
  12. Plus the ships are plenty big enough to avoid people you don't believe worthy of sitting near you Same as in the real world
  13. The last one I know how you feel and get it totally But if you were to tell someone you want to be really positive about the cruise you are telling the truth as we know you do from what you've already said And someone who may be able to help you solve the noise issues by going the extra mile for you may really appreciate some positive feedback on here I would mention it myself as would just be being honest. And definitely couldn't do any harm. I totally understand though if it's not something you would want to do. I've done it before on land holidays in Turkey and ended up being upgraded to suites when the customer service staff realised I was live reporting on trip advisor. And that was when I wasn't trying to gain anything at all. They just started going over and above for me. Never mentioned it on a cruise ship yet but would do if I thought it could help a situation that wasn't being addressed well. It couldn't do me any harm. And it might make a difference for someone who wants to impress. Right now in your shoes I would want everything possible done to sort that creaking. Regardless. Like I said yesterday hopefully these are minor blips that are rectified soon enough You've put me well off CPS though. That would have infuriated me
  14. Not a good start at all Are you going to tell your steward initially about the creaking? They may be able to tell you what's causing it and if it's ongoing! I guess him not being able to help with the low bed isn't a good sign though (I sense a new better cabin for you at some stage) Once you speak to someone senior enough in amongst all this to understand - I would mention you are doing a live report and how much you were hoping everything you could tell everyone was positive As it is through no fault of your own this thread would put people off cruising not warm them to it Good luck getting everything sorted asap Selbourne
  15. It will just be a minor blip in the bigger picture I hope........
  16. American kids we have experienced on cruises have invariably been great kids. Polite and well behaved. Positive and enthusiastic about stuff they do and great friends for your kids to make.
  17. We've done RCL - the kids club will have far more US and overseas kids in it than P and O which is normally mainly UK kids. Our kids loved mixing with the overseas kids. They were great kids. RCL is at least as good as P and O in terms of food options and quality albeit more expensive. And we only have fond memories of our cruises with them Wouldn't hesitate to book again Carnival even more fun for families
  18. I predict you are going to have an amazing time Where else would you rather be for the next 65 days?
  19. No they are saying 7 night Caribbean fly cruise is 999 per person Cheapest return flights away from cruising just to get to Barbados airport with nothing else included are 745 per person
  20. And with limitations on which speciality restaurants you can book and when With the very best ones being severely limited
