Indeed, I learned about the dirty banana on my last (and first) cruise earlier this year on Princess. I was surprised how much I liked it.

Just received Upgrade Offer.... help please

Turn it down. Maybe they'll send it to me next. 😆 -
Oh no... We're boarding the K in 7 days and I we were so looking forward to the Grand Dutch.
-
I am interested in the Grand Dutch. I see that they charge for drip coffee and tea. Is this drip coffee / tea in any way better than other parts of the ship where it'd free? I just want to know if I should bring a cup of coffee over from the Lido for my french fries 😆

First time on HAL.. what coffee/tea IS covered, and where? No beverage plan. Thank you!

Question about booking a restaurant reservation. I want to book Pinnacle for the first day. Right now the website wants to charge $184, however two of our guests (different booking #) have vouchers and two guests will have plenty of OBC to cover their portion. Is there any way to delay payment? I just want to place the reservation right now but pay for the restaurant later (you know, like every other restaurant in the world 😆). Or do I need to pay now, then go to guest services once on board with vouchers and OBC in hand and get it all fixed? Thanks -
Bonus: The rest of our traveling party is boarding at 11:30 AM. 😕
-
That's good to hear! I just got my boarding time (no room).. 2:30 PM. Looks like we have an extra meal to find 😕
-
14 days to departure and my room is still GUAR. I'm not worried about a bad room, just worried about no room. Come on ...room!
-
Well I don't know what I don't know. Yes I can see my reservation online just fine, not worried about not getting on the boat, but since HAL talks to the TAs rather than the passengers I don't know what offers/deals may be coming up.
-
I suppose this is the most obvious problem you could have if you booked through a TA. I did it to save some money, but now I have no access to a TA. I've asked cruise line what to do and they (HAL) said they don't know. My TA is gone. The whole office is unresponsive for about a month. I'm 28 days from my cruise. The upside is that I don't really need much from them. I can survive okay without any contact. At this point it's more the principle of the matter. What do you do when your TA has jumped ship?

I have booked 2 cruises in total, both this year. Princess was something around $200 deposit and the rest due within two weeks, months before the cruise. The other was the Baja California cruise on Hal and they wanted 100% up front.

Unfortunately cruises rarely target people who like beer. 😕 That said, Lagunitas seems to have made inroads with the cruise industry. I think little sumpin' sumpin is usually available.

They changed promotions. Current promotion doesn't show for my November cruise either. Current promotion ends on the 12th. The 13th should have a new one that may apply.

Navigator App Doesn't Like LG Smart Phones
epistax replied to Beejay4016's topic in Holland America Line
Only time I've seen that on an Android is when I've rooted it / replaced the image. Random applications decide your phone is incompatible after. -
I purchased my shares initially for the benefit. I've used the benefit twice. The shares are down a reasonable amount from where I purchased them, but I'd only sell now for tax reasons. I can't give investing advice but if I did not have the stock now and I had a cruise coming up soon, I would probably make the decision to buy them.

I think Btimmer is right. They are showing different packages to different people, possibly based on the cruise. Here's mine: No crew appreciation, (even if following to Terms and conditions)
-
I don't think this is correct. If it was, I'd grab it.

It took me less than 24 hours. My cruise is in November. I emailed "World_Cruise_Reservations@hollandamerica.com" and got a very quick response. -

And these pages show $0 for me right now. I wanted to verify I have $300 OBC before the cruise so I can correct it if there's a mistake. Looks like I'll have to call. -

I should have some on board credit from a couple of sources for a cruise in November. I've looked in the app in one place I'd expect to see this but the credit states $0. I haven't seen any place on the website to check. Is this viewable before the cruise starts somewhere? Thanks! -

Thanks for the responses. I suppose these kinds of options open up later or on-board only. Is there a free wifi for doing cruise related activities in conjunction with the Navigator app? For example on Princess we'd use the app to do things like: Place a reservation, order a drink to our table, locate passengers in our party, review the daily patter, sign up for activities, join in on some ship-wide games, etc. Is there free guest-to-guest messaging? Thanks. -

My first time cruising ever was on Princess, earlier this year. I had their everything-package. Now I'm going to be on the Koningsdam Nov-Dec and it looks like Holland America's "Have it all" is a less-than-everything-package we're likely to avoid. I have a question on wifi options. According to this page there are three tiers of wifi packages available. however clicking on any of them take me to the sign-in page even though I'm already signed in. If instead I go to the package purchase page there are two options: "Have it all" and Premium Internet (for the entire trip). We're just going to want to make a couple video calls throughout the voyage. I'm hoping we can get away with it costing less than $55/call (the price for the premium package is $110/trip). Are there going to be more options on-board? How bad is the wifi-lockout? Thanks for the information.
