  1. Good morning and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Three good days to celebrate. Too deep of a quote this early in the morning, pass on all the recipes and never been to Kochi. I remember the wall coming down. We will start to warm up today as I thought the weekend was a tad cool. Presently 54F heading up to high 80s with no rain in the forecast. Distressing to see the devastation in OK; I don't think I could live there as I am deathly afraid of tornados. Busy week ahead; I can't believe it is almost May. Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a good Monday.
  2. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. A nice way to start my day. It will be warmer today than yesterday. Presently 52F heading up to ~80F under - wait for it - sunny skies! LOL!! Birds are chirping away outside; I think they are complaining because their feeder is empty. 🥴 Three good days to celebrate, not sure I agree with the percentages on the quote, pass on all the food and drink, never been to Kobe, and I love red eye flights!! Was thinking about my plan on making a table top with my Delf tiles yesterday and came up with another idea. I have a hutch that needs to be refinished (which I plan on doing myself - maybe). It is very, very heavy so I don't move it frequently. The top is the part that needs refinishing the most and what if I used the tiles there? I think it would work. I will have to measure it and see if I can make it work. People have given me their tiles so I do have a good assortment. We will see. Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a good day everyone.
  3. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I appreciate the explanation about Devil Dogs as I went to look it up (the cake part) and saw they were a chocolate cake thingy sold by Drakes Cakes. No dog to pamper and yes, teach your children to save but not to the detriment of joy, IMHO. Good quote, the meal looks interesting, no to the drink (peach), maybe on the wine and never been to Greenland. Happy Kings Day! It sure got windy here yesterday and brought some cooler temps. To me it is cold at 57F right now and will only get up to low 70s. I may have to put on a sweater. Yesterday was a tough one physically but I got through it. Today might be a day of rest. I hope anyone who was in the path of the storms yesterday is safe and it sounds like there might be a repeat today. Stay safe! Thoughts for those on the care list. Cheers for those celebrating. Have a good day everyone.
  4. Happy Friday to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Another beautiful day in the neighborhood with the temps heading to the low 80s with some expected wind in the early evening. I think we are done with winter and heading into summer quickly as all next week we will be in the mid 90s for the entire week. Love it! Two good days to celebrate and 1 somber day to remember. I chuckled at Mel's quote. The drink sounds interesting as well as the wine, never been to Hobart. I think I will try a version of the meal as I will have salmon again tonight. I did cook my version of the one pan salmon with fennel and couscous last night. I did make it a little more spicy than most people would like as I made a homemade harissa paste and homemade sun-dried tomato pesto and a olive-almond salsa. I thought it turned out good but needed something green 🥴. I will be at the high school today for one of the math teachers. It is spirit week and the final pep assembly is today with the theme of "Beach Day". It is also the last assembly for the principal who has finally decided to retire. The HS is his life so this will be a bitter sweet day. Condolences @RMLincoln and Happy Birthday @dfish (safe travels). Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  5. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I went to the gym at 0530 and it was so nice outside at that time. Now it is 62F heading up to mid 70s under sunny skies, though wind is expected because a storm is passing north of us. Another beautiful day in the desert. I don't have a regular hairstylist as my hair is very short and I no longer color it. I didn't know about Elbe Day and I participate in "All of Us" national research program and I have some info from my DNA; it was very interesting. I disagree with the quote, meal sounds yummy, no on the drink and wine, and I have not been to Santorini. Cool about Waldseemüller. Yesterday's subbing gig was interesting. Got there and then there was lunch, then planning period and then 1 class. Easy but now I remember I didn't want to go back to that school. 😵‍💫 Subbing today for the art teacher at the HS for 4 hours and get paid for a full day. 👍 I am making a conscious effort to eat more fish so last night I made cod en papillote. Served it over couscous with slice tomato. I enjoyed it. Tonight I will try the salmon with pearl couscous recipe from a couple of days ago. Thoughts for those on the care list and good to hear good news on some who are having challenges. Cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day everyone.
  6. Oh, know that mall well as at one time I live close to it (and couldn't get out of the parking garage once!! LOL!! Long story). Ibn Battuta mall is more in the southern part of Dubai and has some great exhibitions about Ibn's explorations across the globe. 🙂
  7. @aliaschief Did you happen to go to Ibn Battuta Mall? It was my favorite one. And I see you were at the Marina. The architecture in Dubai is amazing IMO! Glad you had a good time there.
  8. Thanks for the daily and fleet report. Not a fan of SB, thanks for the explanation on St Mark's Eve, and hope all animals in labs are treated humanely. I halfway agree with the quote, meal sounds good, love Mimosas, wine is too pricey and never been to the port. Wow on the MIT achievement. This is so true for us. We will be a little cooler today reaching the high 80s. It has been so beautiful lately - sunny skies - but today will be partly cloudy. Had a good day at the high school yesterday. Finance math and AP Stats! Oh boy, I don't think I could do that now. I will sub a half day today at around noon for 7 & 8th grade science. They had asked if I could do it all day as the teacher needed to take the whole day off instead of just a half day. I politely said no. Thoughts for those on the care list and glad everyone with medical stuff done in the last couple of days are doing well. Cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day everyone.
  9. Good early morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Up early to hit the gym and then sub at the high school. It is spirit week and today is Twin Day but I don't think I will wear anything special. I will celebrate the English language and English muffins but I have no idea what or who Dr Who is/was. Disagree with the quote but I do think it does pertain to some people. Meal sounds good and I love either Campari or Aperol Spritz. The wine would be good but way out of my budget. Went to Kona last December. Interesting about the UK coins! Glad to read @JazzyV got home ok and hopefully is resting and take it one day at a time. Happy Birthdays to @marshhawk and @cunnorl! May you both have a fantastic day. Thoughts for @Haljo1935 and @RMLincoln DH medical procedures today. Today will be not quite as warm as yesterday - only to the low 90s. It is already 60F at 0500. Had a weird dream last night - the surgeon came to the house to say it was time to go. I went back to sleep (in my dream) and then woke up about an hour later thinking I probably should get someone to pick me up from the hospital. Then I realized it was too late and decided to go back to sleep. All of this was a dream. Weird. Well, off to start the day. Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone.
  10. Happy Earth Day to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. It will be a beautiful one here as the temps climb up to mid 90s under sunny skies. I will salute Girl Scouts as I was one and also my oldest daughter (and I occasionally buy the delicious cookies - Scot-Teas were the best but now it is Trefoils!!). Interesting quote by Dr. Seuss, love coleslaw, not real sure about the drink, yes to the wine and I haven't been to Mykonos. Barbara Walters was always a trail blazer. I am up late but I want to wish @JazzyV best wishes for a speedy recovery. Bon Voyage @summer slope and Happy Birthday @Rowsby. Happy Passover to those who celebrate. Sorry to hear you canceled your trip @Cruzin Terri . Starting to put away my winter bedding, changing it out to the summer ones. Plus setting up my fans in the living room and bedroom. I hate air conditioning so I rarely use it but rely on ceiling and floor fans with windows and door open. Lovely. Thoughts for those on the care list and those with sad memories. Cheers to those celebrating and have a great day everyone!
  11. Scarborough was a stop on my Amazon cruise I just completed. Funny thing as we were coming into port, another passenger and I could see a sign and was trying to figure out what it said - sounding it out multiple times OӘABOT❤️I ????? After minutes, we both laughed at the same time and almost in unison - "Tobago"!!!! It was the Tobago sign backwards. So I had to walk there but it was hot and humid!! And the dancers at the port entrance (hopefully it will upload): IMG_4781.MOV.zip
  12. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Three good days to celebrate. The only thing I remember about kinder was I went to speech "school" and had to practice saying "s" and "th" as I had/have a lisp. Funny quote, yes to the meal and, after reading the recipe for the drink - thanks, but no thanks. No wine for me (white) and I went to Scarbourgh just this last February; I do have a couple of pics as I did not do an excursion there. Never been a fan of Elvis but then again, I never really listened to "popular" music until I was in high school. Never knew who the Beatles or Simon and Garfunkel were when they first appeared on the horizon. We are already at 71F and it is only 0830. We will get to the low 90s under partly cloudy skies but low humidity (right now it is at 19%) makes it for a lovely day. When I came back to live in the States (much to my chagrin), since I really had nothing here I could choose to live anywhere I wanted. I came to AZ as I love the weather here. I even like 115F with low humidity. And the sunsets are to die for. Wow, lots to celebrate today. It is nice to see the celebration list longer than the care list. @kazu @VMax1700 Bon Voyage!! @bennybear Happy Anniversary! @sailingdutchy Happy Birthday!! I will be watching the sail away today (as long as I remember!!) so everyone have a fantastic day!
  13. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I hate to report - well, no I don't!! LOL!! - it is bright and sunny and warm here. It is already 81F at 1014 in the morning and we might hit 90F. The weather app states we will have a "slightly cooler day". Temps will be in the mid-90s this coming week so I guess the description is accurate. I love the Chinese language and was able to make myself understood when using taxis when I lived there. And I could read some - but mainly medical stuff - but I don't remember much now. On my alien employment permit, my name was 贝尼 (pronounced Bèi ní). Interesting about the Cli-Fi Day, and no to cheddar on fries. Maybe as a dip for the fries but..... Meal sounds delicious, no - just no - to the drink (why waste a good beer), no to the wine and never been to Akita. Yah, Danica!! Today is a lazy day, I think, though I do need to get to the store. I didn't cook yesterday's meal so I want to try it today or maybe today's meal. Both sound good. I enjoy seeing the pics of everyone's blooms. I don't have much of that around me and I kill cactus so I am not a good plant mom! @JazzyV thinking of you as you prepare for surgery. It is coming soon. @kazu Jacqui, glad you made it to FLL. I will try to remember to watch the sailaway!! Thoughts for all on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!!
  14. Happy Friday to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I always start my day here and it is great to read all the contributions!! It will be a lovely day "in the neighborhood"!! I can't imagine a world without garlic; that is one thing I always have in my kitchen - fresh, frozen, salt and powder. No matter what the recipe calls for, I aways add some type of garlic. 😆 Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is very serious and usually found during a pregnancy ultrasound. Had never heard of John Parker so the info was appreciated. While I have never read King, it is a very true quote. I will pass on the drink and wine, never been to the port, but the meal - yum!! I may just have to try it tonight! What an explorer Cook was. I did take advantage of the $1 deposit so had a nice chat with my PCC. Found out I need to re-authorize my AARP OBC request in July so that is on my calendar for something to do. Off to get my mani/pedi. Nails will be coming off so I am sure I will start biting them again. 🥴 My nail biting has been a lifelong habit and one of the main reasons I get my nails done. And since I haven't worked in direct patient care for years, it is one of the few things I do for myself. Glad @kazu Jacqui gets to go on her cruise!! Thoughts for all who are having difficulties and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  15. @kazu Jacqui - I have cancelled the 17-DAY PANAMA CANAL & INCA DISCOVERY leaving FLL Nov 14th (still on the TA before that date) BUT added: 15-DAY CULTURAL CROSSING WITH ANDALUSIA & MOROCCO Nov 2-17, 2025 Oosterdam 😉 Thanks! Pennie
  16. Good morning and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Three good days to celebrate with either a Long Island Iced Tea OR a Long Beach Iced Tea OR both and a Spinach & Artichoke Dip Grilled Cheese!! 😉 I don't get the quote at all and pass on the wine. Never been to Sydney. Historic day for the Catholic Church. Today is also National Piñata Day - a fun party activity here in the Southwest!! Another beautiful day in the desert. We will probably hit 90F today. We have a contest here where you guess the day and exact time the "ice breaks" on the Santa Cruz River - actually when it will hit 100F. I think it will be early this year but we have been known to have a cold spell after good weather. Last year it was April 30th at 1:59pm! The grand prize is a Lennox AC unit valued at $11,500!! 6 month labs done yesterday. Not too bad - not much change - but need to eat more fish to bring that cholesterol down a tad as the triglycerides are good. My PCP hasn't reviewed them yet but I don't anticipate that he would recommend starting any meds. Yah!! Just got a phone call that my insurance "approved" my surgery!! That just irks me to no end! Why should the insurance companies have the ability to .......... ok, I will stop here before I go on a very long rant!! 🤬 @kazu Glad you are able to go!! Cheers to all of those celebrating and thoughts for those on the care list. Have a wonderful day everyone!
  17. Happy Tuesday to all!! Thanks for the daily and fleet report. Cheers to bean counters and for Emancipation Day. Foursquare seems like an app I would not use. Very important quote. All the food and libations sounds wonderful; never been to Whitehorse. Even though I am not a Yankee fan (Go Dodgers!!) I will celebrate their achievement. Cooler this morning - 47F - but another beautiful day. High predicted to be in the low 80s under - you guessed it - sunny skies!! Doors and windows open and the sounds of spring abound!! I have taken a break from subbing for the last 1.5 weeks but will do so tomorrow as I was asked by a friend to do so. Then not again until next week. After doing my taxes yesterday, I need to readjust my withholding! What a shocker that was. Spoke with the ladies I work out with this morning and they all had to pay - for 2 of them, the first time ever. I try to make my tax owed to be $0 or pay just a tad but not yesterday. 🥴 Today is a lazy day - I think. I may even go out to lunch/dinner. I enjoy staying home and it seems that even when I plan on going out, it never happens. I enjoy my own company!! @atexsix @puppycanducruise @Mr. Boston My sincere condolences for your losses. @StLouisCruisers I did have the ice machine for my shoulder and it made a huge difference. I couldn't sleep in my bed for almost 2 months!! And, yes, stay ahead of the pain is a fantastic plan. Thoughts for those on the care list. Cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
