  1. I am on a 28 day Amazon River cruise presently and it was $25/bag.
  2. I usually do guarantee insides and have frequently received upsell offers. Usually, as a solo, they are not worth it as I have to pay x 2 but once I did take it for an OV for $198 total.
  3. Good morning from the Atlantic Ocean. We have made it out of the Amazon River. 😢 3 good days to celebrate, good quote, pass on the meal and drinks and have been to Hilo on my Hawaii cruise last November. What wonderful days in history. Slept in this morning as I was up late -went to the 9 pm show which was the RK group. I saw them on my last cruise and I think they are very good. This morning a beautiful rainbow appeared. We still have several days at sea before the next port and we can now make water. We were asked to conserve as we couldn’t get as much water in Manaus as they wanted. I think we will be able to get laundry done today and towels are back in the restrooms. 😁 Bugs have remarkably diminished unfortunately and I will miss them. 😢 Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers for those celebrating! Have a great day!
  4. Funny I can still get on and I am in the middle of the Amazon 🤷🏻‍♀️
  5. Good morning from a buggy, hot and humid Zaandam in the middle of the Amazon River. I will certainly recognize Dissociative Identity Awareness day as it is a cruel disorder. The other 2 I will pass on. I will have to think about the quote and will save the food and drinks until some time later. Never been to the port. Interesting days in history. I can’t imagine how someone who is scared of bugs coming on this cruise. There are so many and I am enjoying seeing all the different kinds. I have been taking pictures of the different ones and uploading them to iNaturalist to identify them. So I have uploaded close to 80. I love bugs!! And some of them are so big! I am happy to hear @rafinmd oncology report was good and that @ottahand7 surgery went well but I hope the pain is under control. Thoughts going out to @marshhawkDH. And I know I missed someone so for that I apologize. Cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  6. No. No HAL ships have a self laundry. Their laundry service is superb. You can send it off by the bag and tons of clothes fit in it. ~$20 to $30 bag depending on the ship.
  7. I agree though I personally love the tiles. I think if they gave us coupons to go pick them up at a designated place and designated times it might save the stewards some work. For me,if people I meet on a cruise don’t want theirs many times they have given them to me. I have a total of 6 from this cruise (1 of mine and 5 from others). Makes me a happy camper.
  8. Good morning from Alter Do Chaõ Brazil. Close to Santarem but a little ways away. 😁 Brain injury awareness is very important and I didn’t know anything about Pulaski. Thanks for the explanation! Not sure what courageous followers are. Not sure I agree with the quote. Pass on the meal and never been to the port. Very interesting days in history. We were in Parintins yesterday. Quaint little town. I didn’t have anything planned so tendered around on local tenders and walked to “market “ , picked up some magnets, and found a local hole in a wall and had some local beer. $1 each!! There was a soccer team have a wonderful time toasting and they were cooking some type of meat. No one spoke English so I spoke my funky Spanish (just key words) and found out it was ox (boi). They gave us samples and it was tasty. More people from the ship found the place and we all enjoyed the atmosphere. And last night in the Lido they cooked a very large fish - Arapaima. Delicious!! I didn’t post yesterday but read the fantastic news about little Miss Murphy!! Thoughts for all and cheers for those celebrating! Have a great day everyone!
  9. Good morning from a wet and rainy Manaus Brazil. My Martina is a rescue so I will gladly celebrate her day! I am not fond of banana cream pie and since I rarely buy new things - cheers to old stuff!! I will pass on the food and drinks, I have never been to the port and the quote made me smile! What an exhausting day yesterday. I took an excursion for 8 hours with many CCers to see the meeting of the waters, the giant lily pads, an indigenous village and a swim with the pink dolphins! A delicious lunch was provided. I had the best time. I was supposed to go on a HAL excursion today that would go to the indigenous village that I went to yesterday plus the rubber museum so I skipped it. I am hoping to get to the theatre today but with the rain 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thoughts for all and cheers to everyone!! Have a great day!!
  10. I have gotten the emails for free insides and not all of them were sailings in the next couple of months. 2 included sailings over a year away. I have taken advantage of a couple of the offers. Some I was interested in were already booked for the free insides. So it is controlled on how many are available. And, no, they were casino offers.
  11. White Rabbit white rabbit! Good morning from near Manaus Brazil. Love peanut butter, endometriosis is horrible (from personal experience) and I have no babies but I hope those that do the little ones sleep well. As someone who believes in facts deeply I hold my glass up to Huxley!! Pass on the food and drink. I have been to Florence but not Pisa. wow what days in history! Been to Yellowstone many times. The trip to Boca da Valéria was interesting. A new school and dock building and most “residents” had cell phones. Quaint church. I wish I would have brought school supplies but I did donate to the school and church. It was a little disconcerting the way children were used to receive money from the passengers - at least to me - but they were not aggressive and accepted a polite “no thank you”. It was hot and humid!! Today in a couple of hours we will be in Manaus for an overnight stay. I am on a private excursion, thanks to our roll call. It should be fun. Thoughts for all especially those having trying times. Cheers for those celebrating. Have a fantastic day everyone!!
  12. So cool! I have a private excursion tomorrow that states we will do the swimming with the pink dolphins. 🤞
  13. Thought I would share my pics of the pink dolphins from Santarem and Boca da Valéria. Not super good but ….
  14. @The-Inside-Cabin sorry to ask an unrelated question but when you guys have up your passport before heading down the Amazon when did you get it back? A couple of passengers on this cruise were curious and I thought “let me ask someone who has done it recently “! TIA🥴
  15. Happy Leap Day from Boca da Valéria - the little indigenous village on the banks of the Amazon River. I will gladly celebrate digital learning day and I do like toast. Bowie’s quote fits me to a T. I will pass on the food and drinks and never been to the port. I had a great day in Santarem though I did pay for it last night. I saw pink dolphins as I sat watching the river, went to the cathedral and rode the rickety bus to and from the dock after tendering. The place reminded me of places deep in Mexico or Saudi - the shops full of the same items. Not many English speakers but using my funky Spanish I was able to communicate. Bugs abound but very few mosquitoes; I thought there would be a lot more. Today with dollar bills in my pocket I will go ashore to see the village. 👍 Thoughts for all and cheers for those celebrating! Have a great day everyone!
  16. Good morning from Santarém Brazil. Very strange days, love the quote, pass on the meal and drink, yes to wine and never been to the port. They are preparing the tenders presently. We will have a free bus to Fishermen’s Square - about 4km from the dock. I have no excursions booked for this port but I want to see the fish market and I was worried about the walk. We will see how this turns out. Last night was dressy night and since they had escargot on the menu, I went. Pleasant table mates and the food was delicious. I am still stuffed. I did have the duck. Here was the menu. Oh the also had a masquerade party in the crows nest that I did not participate in. We also were given a gift of a shot glass. Towel animals nightly with chocolate on dressy night. Bugs were everywhere last night! I have been using iNaturalist to identify the different bugs around. A grasshopper hitched a ride with me to my cabin last night! IMG_5363.mov Thoughts for all and cheers for those celebrating! Have a great day everyone!!
  17. Good morning from a rainy Amazon River. I will gladly celebrate Anosmia Day. I have seen polar bears up close in Barrow AK and they are amazing. Don’t like Kahlua. I very much agree with the quote. The meal sounds lovely, will have to wait for the recipe for the drink, yes on the brut and never been to the port. Yesterday we crossed the equator and sat in the river for a couple of hours while all the inspections/pilots arrival and immigration stuff done. Boy was it humid - sunny and hot! This morning it is raining and the bugs are out!! 🤪. I have been using iNaturalist to identify them which I find fun as I like bugs. Had a lovely dinner at Pinnacle and tried a new drink - Classic Negroni - which I liked! today we are cruising the river and the weather prediction is for off and on showers. Dressy night tonight but not sure I will participate. If there is escargot in the MDR I will be there! Thoughts for all and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  18. This brochure was in my cabin this evening. It is the Legendary cruises for 2025-26. I don’t know if this information helps anyone but I thought I would post it.
  19. Good morning from the Amazon River delta on our way to Macapá for a service stop. Everyone’s life matters and it is so important to Seize the Day! Sometimes I think my life is a carnival! The meal sounds delicious but not the drink 🤢. I do like a good Syrah. A quote to ponder. And history days which are interesting. @summer slope I hope you have a successful surgery. Yesterday was the King Neptune ceremony! a fun and enjoyable time was had by all!! We won’t cross the equator until later on today; we are approximately 0 degrees 17 min 26 sec N presently. Thoughts for all and cheers to those celebrating! Have a great day everyone!
  20. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I love the days and will try to celebrate all of them but the clam chowder one may be difficult. Only the New England type will do! Deep quote. Pass on the food and drink and have never been to the port. We are off the coast of Brazil heading towards the mouth of the Amazon River. Today we will cross the Equator and have the King Neptune ceremony. My very first time! Yesterday at Devil’s Island - actually Ile Royale- was soooo interesting! I am glad I went ashore though today I am paying for it. But I don’t care!! Thoughts for all and condolences to those experiencing a loss ( I can’t remember who - I’m sorry I can’t direct my sentiments directly. Cheers to all celebrating. have a great day everyone!
