  1. Happy Hump Day to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I am a tad late to the party as I decided I would sleep in this morning - all the way to 0730!!! LOL!! I love the music scores in movies (except the Tubular Bells in the Exorcist - which to this day - creeps me out!!), haven't seen a fan dance but would love to, and, oh, I love rainbows. Here are a couple I have seen on BHBs and one from Lanzhou, China: Yogi was something else 😂, the meal sounds delicious but only with the wine - no way, on the drink (caramel 🤢), never been to the port, and OMG, I graduated from HS in '73 and now that year is one of the Days in "History"?!?!?!?! I am out of my funk and I want to thank everyone for the encouraging words and suggestions (I won't individually name you because I know I will forget someone!!). Part of the reason I am out of my funk is I just decided to not let this development get me down. But the biggest reason is: AND I have over 100 sea days!!! I am so excited and I just don't know why this was so important but I don't care!! In a way, it means I have spent a lot of money the last 2 years but I have enjoyed cruising so much and it has opened up a whole new way of exploring the world that I never thought I ever, ever wanted to do. AND I have met some of the neatest people on the planet - either in real life or virtually!! I am on cloud nine!! Can you tell??? LOL!! I am thinking of all who are going through trials and tribulations. Cheers to those celebrating and everyone have the best day you can today!
  2. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet reports. Not a fan of PB&J, do like ferrets and I don't want to "love" a produce manager! My father used to tell us kids - Always do the best you can. It might not be as good as yesterday or tomorrow, but always do your best. I don't think I would like the meal at all, the drink sounds (and looks) delicious, yes to the wine, and I have never been to Townsville. What an explorer Ponce de Leon was! Thanks @Sharon in AZ for the heads up about the SpaceX launch yesterday. Unfortunately, I went to bed early as I started coughing and feeling crappy. A friend in Yuma posted some pics they could see from there. Amazing. We still have cool weather today and yesterday it rained off and on. Sometimes heavy. We may get up to high 60s and it should become clear skies but presently it is 45F under cloudy skies with 97% humidity! This is cooler than normal for us. I am in a funk today. I had some x-rays of the knees yesterday (trying to get into a clinical trial) and was surprised to see how bad the R knee has become. It is now Stage 4 OA and definitely will not qualify; it is too bad. Maybe the L will (?); we will see. This is not good news. I don't want knee replacement so I am looking at other alternatives. I don't mind "fixing" my bones but I don't want "stuff" in my body. Go figure. I just envision a future of immobility and that just depresses me to no end. Very sad to read of the passing of the friends and relatives of some dailyites. Thoughts for you and others on the care list. Cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day everyone.
  3. Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit! Happy Monday morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. No Tom foolery today. A sad quote by MM, I love charcuterie boards and do them often, pass on the drink and wine, and I have been to Tokyo on a 4 day visit but not on a BHB. I am an Apple girl so thanks to the 2 Steves. It rained most of the day yesterday, was still raining when I got up at 0500 but we have a small break now. It will rain off and on all day; presently it is 47F and will only get up to mid-50s later. It is a hunker down day. Yesterday I did make a nice dinner but had to space out the prep. Still was able to get it all done at once. Much smaller than I usually do but I enjoyed it. Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  4. Happy Easter to those who celebrate and Happy Sunday morning for the rest of us! I will gladly celebrate Cesar Chavez, haven't use a bunsen burner in ages, and I am a fan of the Medieval era so maybe I will hug myself. Thought provoking quote, pass on the meal and wine, the drink sounds intriguing, and never been to the port. Interesting days in history. Rain is expected today but right now it is 58F under partly cloudy skies. It won't get much warmer - maybe to 60ish - with the temps going down to low 50s when the rain hits. I was going to go out last night to see if I could see the SpaceX rocket but it was pushed back several times until around 2240 so, nope, not doing it. Laundry was done and groceries picked up yesterday, so I did accomplish something. My cold is doing better so I think I am on the downhill side. I did pick up a sliced ham and plan on it with some broccoli with cheese sauce and maybe some fondant potatoes for dinner. Plus maybe some homemade yeast rolls. Lets see how the day goes. Oh, and some deviled eggs. 🙂 Thoughts for all needing support and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  5. The diagnosis is L2-L3 spinal canal stenosis with the procedure of L2-L3 decompression. The technical term is Laminectomy with decompression of nerve roots including partial facetectomy. foraminotomy and excision of herniated intervertebral lumbar disc. 🥴
  6. Good Saturday morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I will give kudos to most doctors but have work with a few who shouldn't be practicing, I probably will be folding laundry today, and since Earth Hour was the 23rd, I will celebrate National I am in Control Day! 😉 Not sure I like the quote, meal sounds good, I have had a Singchelada and do not like them, maybe on the wine, and I have not been to Rio. What a deal Alaska was! It was a beautiful day yesterday and today should be a repeat - presently 57F heading up to around 80F under partly cloudy skies. Tomorrow rain is predicted as a storm is coming over from CA. My cold is in full bloom and I am sure I caught it from the kids. I do need to go grocery shopping so may just order everything online and then pick it up. I called about my free cruise and found out it doesn't expire (Yeah!!) and I can use it for a different cruise. If I understood her correctly, I could use it for $900. I want to wait to see how close I am to 4* before I use it. I should know soon 🤞. I contacted the surgery scheduler and decided it will happen May 13th. That fits into my schedule so it should be fine. I am hoping the SpaceX launch from Vandenburg happens today but CA still has a storm so who knows. I see where FL is getting a launch also today. The pictures of Angkor Wat brought back memories - I was there in Feb 2016. Happy Birthday @Suslor and @cruzn single. Happy Anniversary @USN59-79, Welcome Home @Suslor and @lazey1, and Bon Voyage @ocean sounds and to those who are celebrating something. Thoughts for those who need a little extra support. Have a great day everyone!!
  7. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Three good days to celebrate and a funny - albeit true - quote. Pass on all the food and libations, never been to Greenland (someday) and, believe it or not, after living in China for 4.5 years, I never went to go see the Terracotta Warriors! Yesterday was so busy and I started feeling crappy; this morning I have symptoms of a cold. 🤧 Never fails when I have 4 days off!! And today is going to be a beautiful day - presently 55F heading up to the low 80s under sunny skies. So not much planned for today. I was given a shout out during the morning announcements at the Jr High yesterday thanking me for subbing for the last 2 weeks AND I received the little note and a duck. (they give those to the teachers when they get a shout out by other staff). That was very nice. I usually make a big meal (5 courses) for all holidays but I decided I won't do that this Easter. I enjoy cooking and enjoy making sure all is done at the same time. I know it would just tire me out and that isn't good. I just heard Lou Gossett Jr died. RIP Thoughts for all and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone.
  8. Happy Hump Day to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I used to have beautiful handwriting but now I do scribble a tad, I will celebrate the American Red Cross as the organization does fantastic work, and maybe tonight I will have a whiskey and caffeine free diet pepsi! Not a fan of hollandaise sauce so I will pass, and will pass on the drink and wine. Never been to Falmouth, England. I love, love, love the quote. 2 good days in history. It still be a tad cool today. Presently sitting at 43F and maybe reaching 70F this afternoon. I know now why I love being retired - sort of. I worked all of last week and only had the weekend off. What? How quickly the weekend goes and it is WAY too short. I have to remember NOT to schedule subbing this way again. Though I am having fun! The reading specialist came in to work with several of the kids during all of my classes. As she was leaving during one class, she told me what a great job I was doing with the kids. I told her I wasn't trained as a teacher - that I am a RN - and the look of astonishment on her face was apparent. She thought I was a retired teacher. She made my day! My PCC finally got back to me and I saved over $1000 on an upcoming cruise. I dummy booked it and it was significantly cheaper than when I booked it over a year ago. I have to make some decisions as final payment is not until August!! Thoughts for all on the care list and those around the world who need support. Cheers for those celebrating and everyone have a great day.
  9. Hard to wake up to such tragic news. The video is chilling. Awareness of diabetes and epilepsy is important and may we all Live Long and Prosper. interesting quote, meal and drink sound interesting, ? on the wine - white or red? - and never been to the port. Thank goodness for Salk and his vaccine! Today is a repeat of yesterday with the gym and PT thrown in. The teacher didn't upload the assignment to the students "classroom" so we had to go old school. Luckily one of the aides was able to do it so all is well for today. Thoughts for all on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone.
  10. You have brought tears to my eyes!! Thank you soooooooo much for the offer. Let me see how things go and I will let you know I am so grateful for your offer. 🥰
  11. I don't remember if I posted or not, but on my last cruise - it ended just over a week ago - my "free mariner drink" coupon had the ship and sailing dates on it.
  12. Good morning and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Can't stay in bed today but all for peace in this world. Happy Holi (the Festival of Colors) for those who celebrate it and congrats to the Greeks! I totally agree with the quote, pass on the meal, drink and wine and never have been to the port. It was a cool day yesterday and that will continue today. Presently sitting at 44F only getting up to the low 60s with partly cloudy skies. Sweater weather, definitely. My Fitbit "broke" on my cruise and I was not happy. The users manual states it can go in water for a short time/shallow depth. Well, that is definitely not true. I barely got it wet and it "died". It would reboot over and over so I just left it alone. After I got back I put it on its charger and it does "work" - sort of. The button to wake it up didn't seem to work so I put the display on "always on" and started wearing it again. Well this morning the button works. Not sure how long this will last but I swear I won't buy another one!! I had been wearing a fancy watch I bought in Hong Kong but I want the activity monitor. Oh, well! Thoughts for the world and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  13. I was able to put cash into the slots on the Zaandam a week ago so I don't know if that is true fleetwide.
  14. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Three important days and a realistic quote. I have never liked shrimp or fish tacos so I will pass on the meal and drink. Maybe on the wine and I have never been to the port. Interesting that Canada was so far ahead of the US in giving blacks the right to vote. We had our predicted rain overnight with some winds. It is presently 47F and will only get a little warmer to mid 50s with occasional rain today. So for us it is cold. Yesterday I ended up not feeling well; I think I ate something bad. But I did accomplish some things so all was ok. The plan today is to finish up cleaning and getting ready for the week ahead. Four days of subbing in the same classroom as last week as Friday is a holiday for us. I was canceled for a sub job that was for a vacancy; they must of found someone to take the job permanently. I am ok with that because I think I over scheduled myself for April!! @RedneckBob Bon Voyage!! Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!!
  15. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I probably shouldn't eat chips and dip, no kitten to cuddle and I respect everyone's beliefs even if they don't align with mine. Eleanor's quote is a thoughtful one, the meal does sound delicious, no to the drink and wine and never been to Madagascar. Interesting days in history. Friday was such a day filled with sadness. My thoughts for all on the NA as that was truly tragic. And Princess Catherine - what can I say. I hope the press leave her alone to deal with the shocking diagnosis. Today should be a lovely day with sunshine. Presently it is 56F heading up to near 80F. But tomorrow is another story as we are projected to get rain and cooler temps for a couple of days. Then back up to around 80F for a couple of days and then back down to the 60s. Awh, spring in the desert! Birds are chirping away so I guess I need to put out some bird feed; already put out some hummingbird nectar. As I was getting ready to sub yesterday, I suddenly remembered I forgot to go to PT Thursday!! I feel so stupid; I had placed a grocery pick up order to get as soon as I finished subbing and completely forgot about it. It would have been my last one but I still have one scheduled for Monday or Tuesday (I have to go look) so at least I can say "Bye" and "Thank you" to my therapist. Even if I need PT after surgery, which I doubt because I never did after my 2 previous back surgeries, my therapist won't be there as he is a traveler. Slowly getting back to the gym, though taking it super easy, doing some cleaning and then nothing planned. Just rest. Happy Birthday @seagarsmoker!! Thoughts for all who need hugs and cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  16. Happy Friday!! I don't feel young, daffodils are lovely and I can't goof off today until later. Good quote, pass on the "meal" and drink, maybe on the wine and, as @seagarsmoker said, I have been to Falmouth and did go to Dunn's Fall and the bobsled ride on a HAL excursion. If the port is on another cruise, I think I will just stay on the ship. Just a couple of pics: Finally at the end of a long week. I think I need the weekend to recoup and that is when I will really goof off. Today is Chapter 5 in the Baum The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Not fond of the book but have to keep the kids enthusiasm up about it. CT is scheduled for April 7th. Yes, on a Sunday! I was surprised. Keeping my fingers crossed nothing more is found. Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  17. The laser show is amazing!! I hope you enjoy it.
  18. Good very early morning from Tucson! Thanks for the daily and fleet report. I know several incredible kids. I worked for a couple of companies that cared and the big bang theory was the start of everything!! LOL!! True quote. The meal looks delicious, pass on the drink and wine and never been to the port. It should be a nice day today. Presently it is 49F hoping to climb to mid 70s. After a tiring day at the Jr High, my surgeon and I came up with a plan. I will schedule a CT but as long as it doesn't show anything worse, I will have spinal decompression surgery mid-May (the scheduler will let me know when but pre-op appt is made). I could have had it in April but I have subbing commitments that I don't want to cancel. It is a more conservative surgery than a huge deconstruction surgery he first talked about but after evaluating my response to PT and the steroid shots, along with my increasing difficulty and pain when walking, this, he feels, is the best route now. Tomorrow will be my last PT session and then continue with my exercise program with my trainer, which today is my first day back after my cruise!! I am keeping my fingers crossed this will help. Thoughts for those who are dealing with health issues also and cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!!
  19. Happy Wednesday to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I am a Libra and in the Chinese Zodiac I am a Wood Sheep. Interesting about Yellow Dogs (thanks for the explanation), and I will try and be happy today! Such a profound quote, I will pass on the meal and drinks and I have never been to the port. Nice to see interesting days in history. Yesterday was a long day and boy was I exhausted/hurting by the end of the day. I had a eval with the PT therapist and I have not progressed - in fact, worse. And he seems to think that my pain is more of a hip problem. So, armed with questions for the surgeon, I hope to maybe get a hip MRI and/or some plan going forward. 🤞 Though now my knees are really bothering me. If it isn't one thing, it is another. My skeleton needs to be replaced! Hmmmm. Thoughts for everyone and cheers for those celebrating! Have a great day everyone!
  20. Happy first day of spring! Thanks for the daily and fleet report. I have been a certified nurse in various sub-specialties throughout my career so, of course, I will definitely celebrate this day! I did have international clients when working overseas and today, I will be reading to the class part of Chapter 2 of the Wizard of Oz. Funny quote, the meal sounds delicious, yes on the drink (yum), no on the wine, and I have been to Colombo, Sri Lanka on my way to the southern part of the island but not on a cruise. Interesting days in history. It should be a nice day today as presently it is 45F and will get to low 70s. I love AZ during this time of the year. Busy day yesterday but my last period was a planning period so I was out of there by 1400. Headed out to get my mani/pedi since it has been almost 5 weeks since the last one. Still unpacking and doing wash; who knows when that will be done. This morning I am off to check in for a study I am in, then off to sub, then PT in the evening. Another day of rushing around! We could see the Space X launch last night. I didn't get a pic but the news here did: Thoughts for all on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
