  1. I think you’ve kind of answered why they don’t put robes in the regular rooms, it’s something that many guests steal so they’ve just decided it’s too much for housekeeping to monitor and therefore easier not to bother with them. The ones in the suites are nothing special, they are the same as the spa, just standard waffle texture.

  3. On Valiant Lady last week bar soap was provided and it’s not black, think they got rid of that last year or longer ago. On the first screen of the app there is a share and add your mates option, use that to link up and book dining for each other. I’ve read reviews from others that got the balcony divider opened when they knew the person next door. Be aware the aircon needs the balcony door to be closed and locked to turn on, so you can’t leave the door unlocked to go between each others rooms and get it cooled. i was on Valiant Lady last week so in Mediterranean not Caribbean and was occasionally a little cold at dinner as I wore shorts to restaurants. On deck it was cool but was fine to dance at Scarlet night with other people around. It’s usually warmer in Caribbean though so should be fine.
  4. Almost all coffee chains use some form of powdered chocolate mixed with milk, that doesn’t mean it isn’t “real” chocolate. I’ve not ordered hot chocolate onboard VV but for a mocha they were using Monin chocolate syrup which looked similar to Starbucks.
  5. Me too, but when I wanted shade I just used the hammock on the balcony. There’s not a lot of shade next to the pool on deck 15 either really so I didn’t bother trying when I wanted shade and just went out when I wanted sun.
  6. The area on deck 15 near the pool is always busy, but there is almost always space on deck 16, either on loungers above the pool or at the athletic club at the aft. I’ve been onboard with 1300ish and they didn’t even bother getting all the loungers out on deck 16 as they weren’t needed.
  7. Pretty similar on Valiant last week too, apparently 2200 onboard but the only time it felt crowded was afternoons on sea days when basically every lounger was taken. It was still possible to find seats outside, just not loungers. There was no issues getting food and the one very busy breakfast we were offered seating in Gunbae but chose to sit outside.

    Sales

No, if items are reduced it’s just on the Virgin Voyages branded stuff really and it’s seasonal not per journey.
  9. From memory when we were onboard in June Another Rose was Monday, Wednesday, Saturday but Wednesday is Scarlet night. I think it was 7pm to 9pm except the Wednesday might have done two 6-8Pm and 830-1030. The food is good, it’s an Indian inspired menu.
  10. I’m the opposite, I found the coffee in the flasks via room service to be a little too strong, but in the Galley it was perfect.
  11. Any drinks ordered on room service will come from bar tab and there is still no delivery fee added. The Deep Blue Extras $10 a day is only applicable at the two Grounds Club locations, it won’t work with Ship Eats room service. We ordered room service breakfast on Valiant Lady last week, ordered two free drip coffee and one paid-for American and $4 was charged against bar tab. We didn’t actually have anything to pay at all at the end of that trip, the $800 of free bar tab covered all our drinks for the week.
  12. I find the brewed drip coffee great, it’s naturally quite sweet, not burnt tasting like Starbucks. Drip coffee is self-service 24/7 or from waited service restaurants. Espresso based drinks are available from the Grounds Club locations from something like 7am to 8pm or can be ordered from room service. There is no delivery fee on room service if you order one of those paid-for coffees.
  13. Although in general in Europe it’s pretty easy to self guide as the public transport is available. We did Marina di Carrera to Pisa by train easily. Whereas somewhere like Costa Maya you need a tour to get to the Mayan ruins, either booking with the ship or external.
  14. An outline schedule will appear in the app at 45 days, with the major shows, but they will switch round in the week or two before boarding. In general there will be an 7pm OR 8pm and a 10pm show in the Red Room most nights. Another Rose dinner show will be on about three times around 7pm (there is a charge but it includes a lot of alcoholic drinks). Then Lola’s Library will be in the Manor a couple of times, when I was onboard that was 9pm to midnight (with dancing after), but it used to be later. The dance parties are generally around 11pm.
  15. Yes. So the main use is security to get on and off the ship but it’s also seen when checking into restaurants and to locate you for shake for champagne.
  16. Probably best to message Squid Ink directly on Instagram.
  17. Did you book lock it in GTY rate? If so you can’t bid until you get your first cabin assigned.
  18. That additional loot is the agent giving you part of their commission, effectively cashback from them, not all agents do it, it’s their decision to try and attract more business. If VV said book direct and we will give you $100 then TAs wouldn’t be happy as it makes it look better value to book direct.
  19. We just did Irresistible Med last week, yes 10% VAT added to all food and drinks. Shops open in international waters but add 20% tax which can be claimed back by doing forms on the ship and collecting it at the airport.
  20. Yeah this was 7pm so I don’t think there was enough crew available!
  21. The only reason to reduce the number of showings on some things is because it is better for the cast morale to have almost a full house instead of lots of performances with one a handful of guests. We did have one caberet show cancelled as only four of us turned up to see the singer.
  22. There was nothing wrong with our meal last Tuesday on Valiant Lady, felt like mains were a little slow but it wasn’t actually bad. Server was good and food was all as expected. I just don’t think it’s very exciting.
  23. It only really happens if there is less than 900 or so onboard, which is rare nowadays.
  24. Last week on Valiant most places were quick to get starters out but mains took longer and it felt like the Wake had the longest wait for main courses.
