  1. I agree I find them fine. But I think we prefer a firmer bed anyway.
  2. If it’s in the Manor then probably yes. If it’s in the Red Room then you might be able to get short notice reservations or standby. Basically the Red Room seats a lot more than the Manor so it’s easier to get in.
  3. I’ve had it as a lunch special in the Galley. Others have seen it as a dinner special in the Galley too. Personally we prefer the new Razzle Dazzle menu. The butter chicken was the only stand out dish on the old one. There were no starters my partner liked on the old one, now there are several good ones. Same with the desserts, the old ones seemed to be focused more on looks than taste and the good stuff (churros and Razzle cake) are still available for brunch.
  4. No there is separate breakfast 5am to 11am and lunch/dinner menu for 11am to 5am. They were planning to use Bluetooth on the app to track you for delivery everywhere but I think it’s only used for shake for champagne now. There are no single use plastics anywhere on the ship, metal silverware and cloth napkins are standard. Only time you’ll get disposable stuff is ice cream cups and spoons and takeaway coffee cups.
  5. If you order speciality coffee like a latte, americano or cappuccino then it comes in a paper cup. Filter coffee is in small flasks with plastic cups. Soft drinks will be in their can and same for alcohol generally. The food is in nice plastic dishes with a lid, but you can remove stuff onto the lid to use it as a plate. Metal silverware and cloth napkins are provided and sugar etc will be in small metal containers.
  6. Don’t expect that on VV, the event is not about the stars, it is storytelling really. They don’t have an astronomical expert!
  7. We had very bad weather on the sea day between Malaga and Funchal a year ago too.
  8. It’s one of the happenings cast reading myths and legends for half an hour at the dock.
  9. They do hold back around half the reservations to be booked onboard only. But still better to try and get in early then can concentrate on booking everything else once onboard.
  10. You can but rockstar can book dining at 60 days out so you might wish to use that advantage to get the best 7pm sort of times more easily. shows, classes and activities can only be booked onboard anyway,
  11. You need to get the status by December but it applies to sailings through to the end of 2024
  12. Everyone gets the same rewards at present, you either qualify for them or you don’t. https://www.virginvoyages.com/sailing-club#deep-blue-extras
  13. When you drop off your bags at the terminal they will label them with the cabin number then.
  14. Have you tried the website? Log in and go to manage your booking.
  15. In Malaga you can walk to the castle (although it’s very up hill) and the Alhambra. There is also a Picasso museum and other places to see.
  16. Just consider if Splash of Romance offers a value for you if you already have expedited boarding with deep blue extras. thermal suite is normally $59 on a sea day and Moet is $95 a bottle, that’s the bulk of the SoR package, you also get the party with an hour of sparkling wine or sangria. Therefore if you don’t really want Moet (personally I prefer the $39 sparkling rose) I don’t see the value in the package.
  17. The original Virgin Records from the 1970s was sold to EMI in the early 90s and is now part of Universal. It has no connection to the Virgin Group. Any music played on the ships would be licenced from record labels the same as any other venue.
  18. Check in is available as soon as you are booked, don’t even need to pay in full. Earliest timeslot without rockstar status is usually 2pm, but first to book gets the best times. Restaurant reservations can be done 45 days out (60 for rockstar) and more slots open once onboard. Fitness classes and shows you book onboard.
  19. Bar tab and loot would be assigned to the lead booker and you can either set it in the app so everything gets charged to that person, or visit sailor services onboard and sort it out later.
  20. Just turn up for afternoon tea, it’s not often busy. Personally I don’t see the value in paying for more food. Hot tubs are open almost all the time, they just drain in the middle of the night, like 2am or similar.
  21. It’s a test email with placeholder information. It doesn’t mean anything about itinerary changes. Just that there will be 30% off for Black Friday.
  22. It’s the same food as the diner counter just a set plate with no substitutions to make service faster.
  23. I think that’s exactly how it should work, if you turn up significantly before your time slot you wait outside. There is no need for anyone without rockstar status to arrive before 1.30pm. When we got there at 2pm we had a short wait to drop luggage and then straight into the terminal, hand luggage scanned and then just one person in front of us in the DBE expedited boarding queue. Whole process took maybe 20 minutes.
  24. We checked in around 2pm in late September and could go straight inside. What time did you try?
  25. If you order at the counter for something that takes time to heat up you’ll get a pager and need to go back for it. I found it easier to get a server to place an order for those items and I just collected the cold stuff myself.
