  1. The Red Room isn’t a massive issue for noise at night, shows finish at 11pm generally, although some people have reported it’s rehearsals in the afternoon stopping them napping that is a bigger issue. I’ve also heard being above it is worse than below. Have you checked how much to upgrade to a terrace balcony room?
  2. He won’t need a coat. Wear whatever you like on Virgin so dress up if you feel it, but most will be in shirt, polo or t-shirt.
  3. The karaoke in the social club is hosted by random Happenings cast on many nights, but on Scarlet night it will be the diva. No need to book just turn up and tell the host you want to sing. It’s not really a pop up as it’s listed in the events. there are also karaoke rooms you can book near the forward lifts.
  4. That is incorrect. You can book shows etc as soon as you are checked in and on the ship WiFi.
  5. I think VVs reasoning is that it’s promotional bar credit designed to be spent onboard at bars, not for take home stuff. Whereas loot is intended to be spent on anything at all.
  6. The offer did change since launch, but that’s because the original offer was stupid. It used to be that you charged to the deposit to your room account and got an onboard credit for the current cruise, which cancelled out the deposit. Therefore the discount on the future cruise was “free”. That got nerfed early 2022 I think.
  7. Oh I can see why that is frustrating then. On one hand a longer cruise for the same price (especially in a suite) might be nice, and could just stay on the ship at the repeat stops, but two long cruises after each other will be a lot.
  8. Aren’t half the stops the same as the normal Virgin Med itinerary? Or is the the new Greek stops that make it repetitive?
  9. Can you move onto the 10 or 11 night cruises that are directly replacing the 3x seven night ones that are being cancelled? My guess is at the moment they have found there is demand for longer itineraries so are switching up later in the season to offer some longer trips.
  10. I was also hoping they have raised the quality of the burgers!
  11. Resilient Lady doesn’t have any air hockey tables. As much as I missed playing it, as you say it makes a much better atmosphere without them. Also then the space where the air hockey is on the other ships was used for the hosted karaoke on Resilient.
  12. The other downside is it can’t be used with the lock it in guarantee rate. For our cruises this year the lock it in rate was a significant saving compared to using a MNVV voucher. Also with the current promo giving $600 bar tab anyway we didn’t need the extra loot credit. Of course that cheap lock it in rate isn’t always available and is more restrictive so has its own downsides too!
  13. You could do The Wake for brunch if you want to try it. Or they offer steak at lunch too.
  14. The Wake has the worst service of all the onboard restaurants, personally I think there are better and more interesting restaurants onboard. My favourite is Pink Agave, then menu A (first course mushroom) at Test Kitchen. Then Gunbae, Extra Virgin and Razzle Dazzle with the Wake the lowest priority for me. Dont forget Razzle Dazzle does breakfast/brunch and the Wake brunch/lunch so you can dine at those places in the morning.
  15. Don’t think cancellation for August 24 is not linked to Brilliant not being ready, I think they are just hoping that cruises from Portsmouth sell better than Athens. my guess on what they do for 2025 depends on what sells for 2024, they are still trying to work out what the popular itineraries are.
  16. Yep this annoyed me too as the text in the app said to arrive 15 minutes before, but they have actually changed the timing in the app so that 15 minutes is now included in the time shown. Last year it showed a start time of 5.45 (which is when the singer takes the stage, with the host out at 6pm) so you arrive at 5.30. Now shows a start time of 5.30 but the app still encourages arriving 15 minutes before that so the casino has a queue filling it! I agree that the food quality has improved, the new roast vegetable salad and tomato mozzarella were booth good. Chicken still needs a side with it I think. i thought I saw better acts a year ago than a month ago, but they change all the time. Also the amount of audience participation seemed the same to me, but the quality of the interaction depends a lot on the host and the one last month was great.
  17. Scarlet has MAC, I think Valiant has Chanel makeup.
  18. You could consider also excursions from other companies or self guiding if the VV one sells out.
  19. When you do the check in steps on the app there is an option for the second sailor to state you are paying for everything, then everything gets charged to your loot/tab and then credit card when that’s gone. or you can go to Sailor Services once onboard the ship and get them to combine your two accounts so everything gets charged to one person.
  20. On each counter that is offering a special, there will be an example plated up with a small sign describing it. Typically the salad bar and diner will have specials, plus the bread counter rotates through a lot of options.
  21. Order the really expensive Dom Perignon champagne by the bottle.
  22. Generally shows end at 11pm. If Scarlet Night has bad weather the pool party moves to the Red Room but that will be done by 12.30am. From what I’ve read the worst issue is rehearsals in the afternoons if you want to nap in your room.
  23. It’s rotating guest acts, usually a comedian or magician.
  24. I think so, but from what I’ve read they might open it at the bar.
  25. No, bar tab can only be used at bars and restaurants, not shops.
