    Nobu

Jon Ashton was a very visible face in Crystal's covid shutdown period, doing the cooking at home stuff. What was his actual role with Crystal?
  2. Yeah but, Manfredi and Anderson didn't start off by dialing up ports and booking slots. They had to rebuild the company first.

    Nobu

Well, FWIW, as a picky teenager, despite having decent exposure to sushi living in LA in the 2000s, I never really tried it until I was like 20 years old, around 2010, on Serenity, which directly led to it becoming one of my favorite types of food. I likely would have never gone to onshore Nobus either were it not for the presense on Crystal.
  4. I am surprised about the bathtubs/heavy refresh of the bathrooms, but maybe it's easier since they they were already replacing so many staterooms as it was. But the rest of that wasn't breaking new ground or disagreeing with what you said; it was responding to someone saying "no Japanese restaurants." There have been rumors for about two months that casino is getting the axe. So hard to say what will happen there. Dunno what else it could be used for though.
  5. The space for Silk Road/Umi Uma (ie, Nobu) is unlabeled, as is the casino. Why is unclear. I think it's pretty likely that there will be a Sushi forward speciality restaurant on both ships, but it's very possible it gets in house branding and a new menu, a new partnership, or a renewed Nobu partnership. The casino is a bigger question mark. There's no galley there. It would be hard to turn it into a restaraunt, especially with the renewed nightclub on Symphony. But what else to put there if not a casino. Not sure another lounge would be useful. As for the Cove... it's highly unlikely either ship is currently in a photographable state right now; if they had the final furniture in place they'd be sailing next month not the end of summer. I'm sure they used representative old photos where relevant and new renders where enough changed. "New chairs" probably isn't enough to ditch the old photo when the space is likely to be substantively unchanged.
  6. Yeah the singles appear to just be the same ocean view rooms, just in a specific place. One would assume that they can just sell them interchangeably if one sells out.
  7. It's legitimately hilarious that you're upset about a website taking more than nine seconds to be fully live.
  8. It won't be that fast. 2021 was a restart that was planned and had some light refurbs and most of the same staff and crew and a continuation of pretty much all the pre-pandemic logistics. This is, while in some ways, a continuation of Crystal, a far far far more disruptive restart. They will need more than a 3 month announce to start time.
  9. Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but... My best friend (Jess) was going to book on Crystal for her honeymoon and was looking at itineraries with me since I knew Crystal fairly well and she had only been once. This was around October 2021, so before the bankruptcy. I remember she was looking at August 2023, for Iceland to somewhere in Northern Europe by way of the UK, and it was gonna be on Serenity which was to be bouncing back and forth to Iceland. I have decent memory of that specifically because there was a vague plan I had to be in Scotland with another friend (Brett) who I also had gotten on Crystal recently in mid-August around my birthday to be doing a whisky tour, and the itinerary would have had Jess and her wife in Edinburgh for an overnight at the same time Brett and I were planning to be in Scotland, so we were planning to meet up and hopefully if the policy was returned post-Covid, visit the ship to say hi to some crew and get a drink or two. That's a long way of saying, I really suspect this is the old reservations for that and they just haven’t been cleared from the Reykjavik calendar.
