Have booked (and paid) for SD on 2 evenings via the app. Sail Sept 24 (Sky) Deposit only paid Minisuite (not Reserved class) neither Elite nor Platinum.

So when you get on your 2025 cruise @memoak and find that the $60/day Plus package you purchased in 2023 no longer provides you with 15 alcoholic beverages a day (up to $15) but you must now either upgrade to the new Plus++ package (upgrade for only cost $30/pp/pd) or you are limited to a maximum of 8 alcoholic drinks................are you going to roll over and upgrade?

If you are a "Standard" fare, you will pay $5 each time you order RS by telephone..that is on top of the one-off $14.99 activation fee

Fair point....but if I am Plus/Premier I can phone for RS for no charge...why charge Standard only?

Yeah, I know this.........I don't have to pay per order if I leave the phone alone. My question is.....why will Princess charge me for using the phone for each order..but happy for me to use an app/tv to order RS? What is it that Princess is trying to achieve by dissuading me from talking to a Room Service Human ?

I know I will be charged $15 to activate "Ocean Now"...but as a standard fare I will still be charged $5 for In-Room phone service..........that is my question ....why charge for phone but not charge for app/tv.

Can someone please explain why Princess charges $5 for RS if you use the phone but not if you use the app/tv? Is it just about saving the costs of employing people to take the orders over the phone?

Do you know if the basic wage for a certain position (for instance a waiter in a bar) is the same across all regions?

Yup ... it is my criteria...and if I book Princess again, I have already decided how I shall book.

not entirely sure I understand what you mean by "billed" . CA is clearly detailed as a separate tine on my travel summary.....so why wont Princess allow reduction removal....it could be in the form of refundable OBC.

If Princess had announced that wef Aug 01 that all new bookings would incur these additional fees, then I believe there would have been far fewer "comments". But they didn't ... they are charging a group of passengers for services that, at the time of booking, were included....which frankly stinks. As it stands (at the moment....) our next cruise with Princess is unaffected (unless we have 3 or more Alfredo pizzas)....we like Princess but it appears they cannot be trusted and that will definitely be a major factor when we book our next cruise.

I did not realise until a few days ago that gratuities were not able to be removed/reduced if you have purchased a package. Does anyone how much of the package cost is apportioned as "crew appreciation" and supposedly passed over to the fleetwide tipping pool.

and if that Room steward cannot be arsed to hoover properly for 14 days and ignores requests for an ice bucket...then so be it
