I 100% agree with all you have written.....common sense for most businesses. However, I do wonder if the arrogance (and ignorance) that emanates from their marketing dept will overrule.

I doubt if Princess will inform passengers... My past experiences (book direct) with comms from Princess are very poor. Time will tell.

Why the $5 charge for room service if you use the phone? Is it a better service (eg quicker and hotter) than the app?

No doubt you do...sadly hogging seats at the bar precludes many others from ordering at the bar. 🙂

On Sky in June 23......early evening onwards there were plenty of waiters walking around taking orders at your seat/table....this was in Piazza / Vines / Bellinis / Good Spirits / Crown Grill / Princess LIve. Preferred to order from a person rather trust the app (previous poor experience)....yup, I could walk to the bar, but in general, in the evening the bar staff were flat out making drinks for the waiters. Always went to the pool bars during the day though

Sailed on Sky ex Southampton to Norway earlier this year. Had Roast beef three times in the buffet....very tasty and juicy, but only once was it presented as medium rare (in parts) the other times it was medium (but juicy) I am not sure whether it was the server's training, their knives not very sharp, or the angle they carved at....but having requested 4 times (yup had seconds on one occasion 🙂 ) for "thin slices", they were unable to deliver. On the first occasion I did ask the server to try again.." please can I have it a little thinner" and it was carved thicker than the first....heyho.. What I love about these large joints in the buffet is you can see the meat, have as little or as much as you want, and also ask for it to be carved from an area on the joint that suits your tastes. Preferred it to the MDR offering.

why does it matter if you are blue or green when sailing from Southampton?..there are NO blue/green lines/queues/entrances. UK passengers collect medallions at the port and if you have completed the necessary online documentation as required...then the time impact is 1 minute for the staff to walk and get your medallion and give it to you.

we are just two cabins forward from "midships".....so not an issue. No wait dining for the same menu is not worth the up cost (just checked £100 per day for the two of us)

just did a price comparison on our next cruise ....at a cost of £100/day for the two of us to not wait in line to be served the same food as other diners is not good value for us. If I was prepared to spend another £100 per day.....we could eat in specialty every evening and still have £40 per day for other spending.

Fair enough....curious, where do you perceive the benefits of Reserve class are?

the upcharge over a std Mini suite for Sept 2024 on Sky was £65+ pp.................. No way is it worth that amount.

Hi I imagine that the majority of MDR evening offerings are pre-plated and close to being finished with garnish as orders come in. In the specialty restaurants is this the same or are they cooked to order? for example in the Crown Grill the menu has "Grilled Jumbo Prawns in Whiskey, Chili and Garlic Marinade"...would I be able to order this and ask for the chili to be excluded when being prepped and cooked?

Still there on Sky but our room steward was a lazy sod...minimum effort input only. I asked him (very nicely 🙂 ) for ice each evening...he delivered day one, had to chase him day two, nothing day three. gave up on day four and brought a glass back from a bar instead.
