  1. Vanessa @JazzyVgood idea to have your phone with you when going to the basement. None of us want to be the next one on the fall down list! By the way, if you have any questions about the Care and Celebration list posting, just email me at my screen name @ yahoo dot com. Roy, wonderful to hear you got more sleep last night. Are you cooking for yourself? Oh good heavens, another tumble. Walking around people pulling luggage is so dangerous. I imagine people fall every day at the airports. I've almost fallen over DH's carry on myself once or twice. Thank goodness you are only stiff and not injured from your fall. As for the Disney cruise, I had the best pork roast dinner ever on our first Disney cruise. I'll never forget the Animator's Palate dining experience! Amazing! Good luck with your surgery Thursday.
  2. That's exaclty what we did in 2019. The trains are very nice inside and out.
  3. Looking at the forecast for Fort Lauderdale this Friday and Saturday, I see a 40% chance of rain Saturday. That's a bummer! After seeing the rainy sailaway for some of the ships yesterday I was praying for a nice sunny day for our Saturday sailaway. However, I'm sure the weather forecast will change 329 times between now and then so I guess I'll just wait and see.🌦️ DD informs me the next holiday she will create on her Celebration tree will be St. Patrick's Day. I was thinking it would be Valentine's Day but she's been very busy since her foot surgery, her teaching job with some pretty raucous students, and her second job creating beautiful crafts to sell. People see the items on Facebook and orders come in like crazy. So in honor of Valentine's Day I will post a photo of February 2022's Celebration tree for your viewing pleasure. You're welcome!! 😇
  4. I'm so sorry to hear about your back going out! When my lower back hurts it really affects my life, but it's nothing like you've experienced! Then having to cancel a cruise because of it. But at least you were home when your son had to be hospitalized. Prayers for him to heal and you to improve. Please take good care of yourself.
  5. Joy, I'm sorry to hear about the sharp pain in your left side and hope nothing is broken there. Please let us know what you find out at the clinic. Prayers for healing!🙏 Nice to hear about your fun evening though. Bruce, I saw the full moon this morning shining in my window. Your photo in yesterday's Daily was beautiful. I hope the weather decides to clear up and fool the weatherman. 🌞 Your photo is beautiful, too! What a sky! Is this taken in South Carolina? It reminds me of the dunes in Corolla, North Carolina. It's going to take quite a bit of work and luck to get those carpets dry! Tomorrow the weather should start to warm up since you are due west of the Falklands today. It always warmed up on the way to Argentinian ports. Sorry about the lost blouse. I hope it turns up soon. After all, an orange sequined blouse should stand out! I have to agree about the menu at Pinnacle Grill, especially for folks on extended cruises. A new entree or two for you would help quite a bit. Have a great day! Debbie, the recipes and photos look great! Thanks for providing them. Wishing your brother and his surgeons a good day, and hope he heals quickly. Maybe you could take a nap later to make up for your lost hours. I'm always awake several hours before get out of bed time, so that's why the Daily is posted early. Or at least I try to when the computer cooperates. It's working fine right now, of course.🤔 It's possible Kathi would contact Pete and Judy, and if she does I hope they are allowed to share her report. Unfortunately, Cruise Critic may be the last thing on her mind right now. Praying it's not as bad as we fear.
  6. Good morning friends! Once again I am struggling with my computer as everything I do seems to just sit and spin instead of working properly. Everything says Timed Out so I'm behind schedule! I will continue on here until Rich's link comes up. It's 42F, the sky is clear with a beautiful full moon. High today will be 64 with sunshine all day. Thanks go to Rich for creating the content ahead of time for our Daily, and now he can enjoy his World Cruise knowing we are enjoying it every day. That is if our computers are working. Today's celebration days are International Frozen Yogurt Day which I would be happy about but I don't have any. I have nothing to say about Lame Duck Day. National Chopsticks Day is great, if you are nimble enough to use them. The Harper Lee quote is interesting. Beef taco soup sounds like a tasty dish so will see how Debbie would prepare it. No thanks to the drink and wine. Prayers for those on the Care list and anyone else who needs them. We have had way too many deaths of loved ones the past few days. There are also a huge amount of falls being reported. Everyone needs to take special care and not climb up on ladders or chairs. And watch those stairs! Cheers to the celebrants today, For those on ships I hope the seas calm down because that seems to be a problem lately too. Our port of the day is Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium. Rich posted this port first on February 26, 2022. Here is the link to it (finally!). We were in Bruge in 2015 and 2019. On our second visit to Brugge we were on Prinsendam too (our last cruise on her May 2019). We took the shuttle to Blankenberge as well, bought our tickets for the train to Brugge and then back again. On May 8, 2015 our ship Royal Princess stopped in Zeebrugge, Belgium. We took a tour from Princess and were driven to the town of Brugge. We had heard a lot about it but it really was stunning. I've described it as a fairy tale medieval town with beauty around every corner. Our tour guide walked us from the parking lot to the edge of the old city. Right away we saw sights like this. Part of our tour was this boat ride along the canals. Yep, that's his favorite spot! Aren't the flowerpots on the wall a cute idea? Time to stop for DH's beer before the tour ends. The following photos were taken May 17, 2019 when we took the train to Brugge. So many good things to sample there if you're hungry or thirsty. waffles! Brugge buildings on these curtains. Love that! Ready to board our train back to Zeebrugge. Have a great day everyone!

  9. Absolutely true. Always check your HAL confirmation for the penalty date.
  10. Annie you are a very thoughtful friend. I'm sorry to hear Fern is in a coma after falling and that her sister can't get any information about her. Prayers for her. Another fall we've heard about. That is a serious problem!
  11. I'm watching too. At least it's working for me today. Yesterday was useless.
  12. I'm so sorry to hear your aunt has passed away today, Brenda. Prayers for you and all your aunt's loved ones.🙏
  13. I was going to say maybe Graham @grapau27didn't have good wifi today, but I see he's just added Father David's sermon. I still need to see/listen to it. I hope your knee and thigh are feeling better soon. I can empathize. 🙁 Thanks for the photos of the Waterford factory and museum. About 25 years or so ago we bought a Waterford crystal 10 inch bowl with gold rim. It's for decorative purposes not food usage. I wonder if they used the machine to cut the crystal on the sides? I would think so. Joy, I'm glad you're going to get yourself checked out. Can you take Ibuprofen or Tylenol for pain? I hope the brunch and dinner as well as the concert go okay. Let us know tomorrow what they say.❤️ You're making the decision that works for your family and that's the way it should be. Your DH has you to help him, but as others say please take some time for yourself once in a while. My DMIL was in hospice for quite a while but we agreed to it because she didn't have anyone to take care of her. We lived 600 miles away and DSIL didn't want anyone near her during Covid. DSIL did not visit her Mom for a year. So we felt better having hospice nurses visit her several days a week to have more eyes on her besides the nursing facility staff. Prayers that everything works out as planned.🙏 Looks great Graham! Thanks for posting Father David's sermon earlier. That's sounds so frightening! I hope Bandit will be okay and is not hurt badly. Those 3 large dogs had better not get loose again or the owner may find herself in big trouble next time.
  14. Thanks for checking in. What are you doing with all your time? Reading, TV, laps around the house? Sounds like a nap would be a good idea. Are your church members calling you to keep watch over you? I hope you have some food donations coming in too because you may not have the energy to cook anything. Keep us updated.
  15. Is your ship Diamond Princess? Sorry I didn't know about your cruise ahead of time. Have a great time and Bon Voyage! I hope HAL can find a new facility that makes repair parts because ships will always have broken water pipes. If they don't replace all that carpet it will take quite a while to dry out the rooms. Hope it doesn't get musty in there. At least you can open the doors to air it out when things get warmer. Good luck!
  16. Debbie, thanks for the interesting versions of roasted brussels sprouts. I'll mention it to DH - he usually steams ours. Good thoughts coming your DB's way as he goes in for knee replacement surgery tomorrow. Will they let him go home same day, or stay overnight?
  17. I concur. We bought Whittakers candy bars and handed them out to all the crew members who helped us on a daily basis. They love chocolate bars!
  18. I'm happy you had such a lovely dinner last night, but oh boy that is a terrible thing to wake up to. The water looks deep, an inch or more. What a mess! Thankfully they had that room to move to though. It will take them a while to get that all cleaned up especially with 12 cabins involved. Please tell us how the Ask the Captain goes later. It should be interesting to say the least!
  19. On June 13, 2017 we were on Prinsendam on a Celtic Explorer cruise. Prior to that we had done a Kiel Canal and Norway cruise so as you can imagine we saw many new and beautiful ports of call. Due to bad weather on the east coast of Ireland we had to skip the port of Galway and proceed on to Waterford where it was cloudy but dry. Prinsendam provided a shuttle bus to town. Here is what it looked like as we approached Waterford. We got off the shuttle and went to the Visitor's Center first, then to Reginald's Tower, a Viking building dating from 1003. From there we walked to the Waterford Crystal factory and museum, passing by this group of adorable children. We saw this unique feature showing the downtown area. Reginald's Tower is at the bottom and the Waterford buildings are on the top left. The Waterford building Nearby was the Christ Church Cathedral The interior Being silly, DH posed here and held out his Prinsendam umbrella, which held off the rain all day! Along the waterfront as we waited for the shuttle bus. That was our time spent in Waterford, Ireland. I'm glad we made it there and sorry we missed Galway.
  20. Good morning friends! It's a little warmer this morning, 35F with a high of 61 and some sun later in the day expected. Probably no precipitation which is a good thing. Thank you to Rich for setting up the Daily ahead of time. I did have to edit the Volendam destination and hope the rest of the ships are where they planned to be. According to Rich's research, today we celebrate National Shower With a Friend day, National Weatherman's day, and Dump Your Significant Jerk day. No plans to shower with anyone, and yes I do appreciate my weatherman because I hold no hard feelings against them even when they tell me the truth less than 100% of the time. But the one that makes me giggle is Dump Your Significant Jerk day! I can't wait to hear what you all have to say about that. The quote is funny as well, and the veggie menu suggestion will be popular with the vegetarians, vegans, or whatever else names describe a person who eats lots of vegetables. Debbie @dfish, show us the recipes! I'll say no to the drink again but will drink a Sauvignon Blanc most days. And finally our port today is Waterford, Ireland. This is a first time posting of Waterford here so no links needed. Instead we must search our photos to find some to post and that is more time consuming. I have been to Waterford one time so will have to begin digging for those photos. On our list today we have two relatives of Dailyites who passed recently so prayers for them and their families/friends. Always a sad time for those left behind. Also extra prayers for Roy, Jacqui, Joy, Tana, Sarah and Kathi whom we hope to hear from soon. Praying the people of Ukraine are making some progress as well. Three cheers for the Celebration list folks, and especially those who are cruising. Stay safe out there! Time to look at some photos now and I will post some in a bit. My Shutterfly account seems not to want to wake up this morning so this could take a while. In fact, my wifi seems to be having issues, and my IT specialist is still asleep. I hope this posts! Have a wonderful day everyone!

  23. Jack thank you so much for the update. Sounds like they made it through quarantine very well. You are lucky not to have caught the virus from Sue. Hope all is back to normal.
