  1. Delta just changed my flight out of Boston from 11 am to 10 am and I knew that wouldn't work. So I went on their website and changed us to 12 noon. Jake @Crazy For Cats what car service did you use to get to the airport? We don't have uber service where I live so I don't even have the app. I need help with either the car service or someplace near the terminal where we can find taxis. Our last port before arriving for Boston disembarkation so I hope that helps with clearing us back into the US. We are also getting off on a Wednesday so probably lots of traffic.
  2. But it's sunny and not raining! Hope everyone brought their layers! At least it should get to about 53 later. I see rain possible the next three days. I think Roy is right about his prediction on docking port side to the pier.
  3. weather looks pretty good there today, doesn't it? Lucky day for cruisers.
  4. Oh no, that sounds so uncomfortable! I hope things improve soon for you. If I didn't wear my glasses I couldn't read here. Prayers for you! Also prayers for Vanessa @JazzyV's knees and Ann @Vict0riann's headache as well. Excellent news to hear! So happy for you.
  5. Good morning friends! The weather today is 64F and we will experience a high of 84 with mixed clouds and sun. I really must have been tired because I didn't wake up early today as I usually do. I heard my back up, an alarm on my phone in the kitchen so as not to wake up DH. I dashed to turn it off and get busy. And here we are. Thank you Rich @richwmn for the Daily and Fleet Report this morning. Our days to commemorate today are National Clean Up Your Room Day, National Small Business Day, and National School Nurse Day. I like all of them! Some of us will clean up today and others will reject that. I promise to clean something! A great idea to support our small businesses. And to the school nurses, a salute! The quote is brief today. What do you have to renunciate? Perhaps someone knows the answer to that. Our meal suggestion today is Spinach Tortellini. I would eat that, but DH prefers 5 cheese tortellini and since he's now our chef, what he likes we usually eat. I'm sure Debbie @dfish has some recipes that will show us how difficult it is to make tortellini. 😆 I honor anyone who goes to that much work! The drink is called Autumn Tini and it sounds pretty but how does it taste? 🍹 Thanks Dixie @summer slope for giving us directions on making it. And the Chardonnay is I'm sure a lovely one but I don't like chardonnay too often. I hope it isn't as expensive as yesterday's French champagne! 🥂 Thank you Ann @cat shepard for the description today. Our day in history sounds exciting and memorable. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like that much time spent underwater! Thanks Rich for letting us know about that bit of history though. Prayers will be said shortly for all on our Care list. Though it is long we are seeing some improvements in some of you. I hope the prayers are helping! 🙏 And to those on the Celebration list, congrats to you! Enjoy your cruises/vacations, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations or whatever you can find to bring you happiness. 🥂 The port today is Malaga, Spain. What a lovely place to visit! We have had that port twice now already on July 19, 2021 and Oct. 13, 2022. My photos will be copied and pasted and yours can be too if you go to one of these links and find them. Good luck! Here are the links and my photos! 've been to fabulous Malaga three times and have a "few" photos of that scenic locality. Our visits to Malaga took place in 2017 on Westerdam and in 2018 and 2019 on our beloved Prinsendam. The first time I took a tour of the fortress with views of the city and the bullring. You can see the bullring and the Westerdam in this photo from 2017. The next two visits were self-led walking tours and there is plenty to see, believe me! One of the most vivid hued buildings is the Episcopal Palace. This spot is called the Plaza del Obispo. If you look to your right when standing in that same spot you see this, the Malaga Cathedral's side entrance. Inside the Malaga Cathedral. They mark everything quite well due to the amount of tourists they get here. Since the 2017 visit was in August it was pretty hot, so we were relieved to see they covered the pedestrian street with sheer cloth-like overhangs. A truly enjoyable city to visit. This morning we plan on walking together outdoors so will want to wait a little while, maybe an hour from now, so the sun will be closer to rising. Weather is good and it's fun for a change instead of consecutive treadmill workouts, hers and his. Hope we see some deer or other interesting wildlife out there. Meanwhile, wishing you a wonderful day this Wednesday! Be safe and have fun! But don't forget to clean your room!

  7. Lorraine @cruising sister hope you're not having too much pain from that toe! I would be happy to have gone to Cueta, Spanish Morocco rather than Gibraltar again. Must have been there 8 times already! Anyway, for accuracy on the Daily, you are NOT going to Brest tomorrow, and are going to Le Havre May 12 correct? Do you know the docking time on the 12th? And are you going to have sea days tomorrow and Thursday? Thanks for any help with this fact finding mission!
  8. Perhaps I should have said it will be beautiful there now. 😊 More accurate! We would definitely love to see photos. Hope it's only snow flurries though.
  9. I'm loving seeing Ivan with his new appearance. It's hard to recognize him as the same dog. Hoping the lumps aren't serious and easily managed. Please tell Ivan how handsome he looks, from all of us. Love your memes today too! Sorry to hear Bertie (Woofster) has a health issue. Let's hope he heals quickly and gets back to his long walks. Too, too funny today Bruce! BTW, glad you located those lost shoes before school. You deserve a treat for that. Wow, that's pretty expensive champagne! Guess I won't be trying any of that! Love hearing about the twin fawns each year. I haven't seen any fawns behind our house yet. I'm hoping your knees start feeling better soon. It's affecting your sightseeing and we don't want that. My kneecap started hurting at the end of my 45 minutes on the treadmill today so I lowered my speed and went to zero incline the last 5 minutes. Then I went to the gym and did leg exercises but trying to keep the weights down. Thanks for checking in with us! Thanks for those lists today Eva! I haven't seen @jodiesme1 posting lately but I would think her Mother and her DH are recovered from Covid and probably home from Guatemala by now. If she sees this notification perhaps she will come back and let us know. She has had only 3 CC posts for a while now. Planting a flowering tree as a memorial is such a good idea. This one has beautiful flowers on it. Thanks for your kind words on my remarkable ability of not losing socks! 🤣 Sometimes they try to hide at the very front of the dryer, and I have thwarted them in the past by running my hand down there to prevent it. Who wants to stick theire head in a hot dryer? Not me!! And you must never throw the laundry at the washer when loading it because socks take that opportunity to jump behind the washer. Sneaky little devils!🧦 My DD once told me she'd never known me to leave clothes in the dryer at the end of the cycle the whole time she was growing up. Surprised me she would even think of that. However, every time I do laundry at my kids' homes I open the dryer to put a wet load of laundry in and there is ALWAYS dry, forgotten clothes in my way! I must have missed that lesson when I taught them Laundry 101!😂 See above lesson in retaining socks (Laundry 101)😉 Congratulations Graham and Pauline! Nice of them to reward your loyalty with this gift. Have a wonderful trip to Yellowstone! It should be nice there now. Take a few photos for us.
  10. I bet some of those fellow cruisers will be jealous of you with only two bags and the duffel on disembarkation day. That's amazing!!
  11. Nice to hear from @erewhon! Hope the results are very good from the CT scan. Maybe you know already and thus the flowers in celebration? Happy belated 83rd birthday to your DH!! That really was a gift with Ivy Dawn's birth. Dawn is a perfect middle name for an early morning baby. Congrats to all! Oh, I saw the last episode of Call the Midwife Sunday night. I even kept it on my DVR in case I want to watch again. Poor Trixie did have everything go wrong, didn't she? But in the end things worked out just fine. Felt terrible about the young mother with the unfortunate ending though. Great news about the legal situation. That will be a relief to have finished up.
  12. Good morning friends! It is 66F with a high of 86 (!) and a chance of rain. One of my weather apps is an alarmist and shows rain every hour while the other two say from 15% to 22% chances during the day. I'm going to have to start listening to the 2nd and 3rd one! Thank you Rich @richwmn for today's Daily and Fleet Report info. Your ship is chugging along across the Atlantic and in only 3 days will be arriving in Fort Lauderdale! I bet everyone is busy packing. Some of them talk about all the luggage they have to fill up. How many bags did you take with you on your world cruise? Well, today we have some interesting and unique days to celebrate! National Lost Sock Memorial Day sounds odd, but I hear people saying they lose socks all the time. I never lose socks in the laundry, or otherwise. I wonder why? I may have an odd one because one will get a hole in it so I toss it, but I usually have several other pairs of the same sock so eventually it finds a mate when another sock gets hole-y. 😅 🧦 Next is Hurray for Buttons Day. I can agree to that since they serve a good purpose. And finally National Moscato Day which will be popular with some. It's not a wine I choose to drink but I could if offered it. Moving on to the quote by Charles J. Sykes. Interesting, but the name of the book title behind his name is sad. Next up is the Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes which I have never had but it might be good. Debbie @dfish will know exactly how to prepare them. Thanks Deb! The cocktail is Stars and Stripes Spiced Ice.🍹 Another odd sounding drink! However, the Champagne sounds very good so I'll try that instead! 🥂 Thank you Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for your reports. Prayers for our Care list today! 🙏 I hope improvement is made by all of you. Hopefully soon we can add you to the Celebration list. As for those on that list today, hurray for you! I hope all the cruises are going well, the food is great, the weather perfect, and the service excellent. What more could you ask for?🚢 The Day in History is an interesting fact. A salute to British Intelligence in 1941!! Thanks Rich! Our port of the day is Probolinggo, Java Indonesia. I have only been to Benoa (Bali). This port sounds like a good one. We have seen it here twice before, on May 15, 2021 and April Fools Day, 2022. Here are the links to those dates for you in case you need them. Thanks in advance for any and all photos shown here today! Well, that's all from me today. Downstairs to the treadmill I go. I'm feeling tired before I even get off that machine so maybe I will take a nap this afternoon. 😴 I'm supposed to go to the gym afterward but who know? All this work on my photo books is wearing me out! But it will be worth it in the end. 📓 Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

  14. I hope you receive them quickly and are pleased with the finished results. I think I've made at least 3 books at the limit of 110 pages. Once I had to split up into two books - 4 cruises booked together in Australia-Tasmania-Papua New Guinea-New Zealand. Right now I have 51 cruise photo books, and then I'll have these 3 to add to them when I get finished making them. Those unlimited pages coupons/promos are really helpful for saving money when you have many pages in a book, aren't they?
  15. Yes, Truman Day is because today was Harry S Truman's birthday. Ironic that he had both his birthday and the surrender of the Germans to celebrate in 1945. And all happening less than 4 weeks as President.
  16. @0106 Tina, sorry I forgot to mention your photos of Martinique. That must have been fun to snorkel near that cave. Thanks for posting them. Ann @Vict0riann I'm glad to hear Pat is doing well now. And I really wish someone would search your cabin to find your Air Tag! How frustrating for you. I'll keep hoping they find it sooner rather than later.
  17. I hope the Mohs surgery goes well for Jim. And let's hope your dryer gets delivered safely this time. We're having our house power washed Thursday. I don't think we need any exterior paint yet, but the deck could use a cleaning and some new stain. I didn't realize last night was the final episode of this season of Call the Midwife, but we can always look forward to the Christmas episode in December. We need more episodes per season though! Good luck with the estate settlement problems, and your Covid boosters. You wouldn't think you'd see such a tall building on a Caribbean island. Thanks for posting it. I totally agree with your comments on Harry Truman. They had little to no confidence in him when he took the oath of office after Roosevelt's passing. But he was smarter than they thought he was. Cheers to our teachers this week! I had a long chat with DD yesterday and she was discussing the completion this week of the State testing. She says every year they have many more students with learning difficulties. Most of them are living with relatives other than their parents, and some have problems due to drug/alcohol use by the birth mother. The teachers do the best they can but you never know how much the students can absorb and that's reflected in their test scores and their behavior in the classroom. It's so sad how this problem has ballooned over the years. So bless those hard working teachers!❤️ I'm also anxiously awaiting photos of the grooming makeover on Ivan! Thanks for your good wishes for Ren and the Jaguars. I hope they do something special for you at work this week. It's a difficult job and you deserve the recognition! Well, it seems I've finally finished one Shutterfly photo book, the one for the shortest cruise we took this past year. It was the 7 day Caribbean/Mexico cruise we took in February on Sky Princess. I decided I didn't want to start on the longest one, last summer's Covid cruise. I'm working my way up. Took me all week, especially since we had no internet for part of that time which delayed me a lot. I'll keep it in my account ready to order when Shutterfly sends me a good deal, like a free 20 page photo book. The past 3 years they've sent me daily emails with all kinds of good deals but I had no books to order. I'm waiting, Shutterfly!! In the meantime I need to get started on another cruise photo book.
  18. Good morning friends! It is 68F with a high of 83 and rain sometime today. My three weather apps are arguing about not only the precipitation but are wildly different on the current temperature. Thank you Rich @richwmn for the Daily and Fleet Report information for all of us. Also thanks for noting this special day in history - V-E Day in 1945. What a brutal war in Europe that was! Let us never forget it. Today we shall celebrate Iris Day, Reward Yourself Day, and Truman Day. The iris is a popular flower with our Gardening Club. I expect to see some photos of yours today. And how about Reward Yourself Day? I'm sure most of us deserve a little reward for things we have been dealing with so try to figure out some way to reward yourself. And today is also Truman Day. It is President Harry S Truman's birthday and he was residing in the White House when the surrender with Germany was signed due to the unfortunate passing of President Roosevelt less than one month earlier in Warm Springs, Georgia. So let's all honor our President from Missouri!🏛️ Fun fact on President Truman is he had no middle name, just the letter S therefore technically there should be no period after the letter S in his name. The statement made in the quote is oh so true! Debbie @dfish will have a wonderful recipe and photos of our meal suggestion, white chicken chili. Yum! The drink is called Sunrise 🍹and the wine is a Sauvignon Blanc. Sounds good to me! I hope Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard had no problem with researching them. Thanks to you three ladies for that work you put forth. Thank you in advance Eva @superoma for the Care and Celebration Report. We shall send our prayers and/or best wishes to those in need of them and still healing from those recent surgeries. 🙏 For everyone on the Celebration list, a salute to each and every one of you. 🎉 Hoping for good things to happen for all of us. So cheers!🥂 The port of the day is Fort-De-France, Martinique. We saw it here once before on November 4, 2021 so I have the link below for those who need it to retrieve their photos. I haven't journeyed to Martinique before so have none to offer. Thank you in advance for your photos though! Ren's Jaguars beat the Wolves yesterday 3 to 1. Ren facilitated 2 assists to his teammates who then scored. One was supposedly pretty spectacular so I hope DS has a video for DH and I. Next weekend is the big tournament in Maryland. Games Friday, Saturday and Tuesday so they will be there a while. Wishing all of you a super Monday. Stay safe!

  20. Mary Kay @cruzn single I hope you heal quickly and are on your way to a complete recovery quickly. Please rest up but be sure to let us know how you are doing. Graham @grapau27 I hadn't heard the number of lives lost in Texas yesterday. They didn't say before I went to bed. Prayers for all there on their loss of life due to stupid, crazy people.😢
  21. Good Morning friends! It's a nice (dark) morning here in Georgia. 57F currently with a high of 82 and mostly sunny skies expected. Hope the weather is nice where you are. Thank you Rich @richwmn for handling the Daily and Fleet Report. The days we will celebrate today are National Tourism Day, Homebrew Day, and World Laughter Day. Let's start with the last one. Boy, do we need laughter more than ever these days! We should try not to let everything get to us and have a good laugh. That's why we enjoy our memes so much and I'm looking forward to today's bunch. Next, tourism is an important part of the world's economy, and I know as cruisers we like to see the world and do our part for tourism. And how about our home brewers? I will salute my next door neighbor Ray who has his own brewery set up in his basement. I saw it once, and DH has tasted his brews several times. He does a good job of it. For a living he was a pharmacist so he is talented at following "recipes". Next we want to thank Rich for his Day in History addition. Very interesting how far back the concept of integrated circuits goes. So 1952 is the birth of the modern computer. 🖥️ I know I've heard Jerry Seinfeld's quote before and strange how that works out, isn't it? 😁 The menu suggestion today is Pesto Shrimp and Artichoke Linguine. Sounds like an interesting concoction so thanks in advance to Debbie @dfish for her recipes. Hope you enjoyed the soccer game you went to yesterday Debbie. Did she win? Next up, the Hot Buttery Barrel drink. This ought to be an interesting one. The wine is a Pinot Noir so a red. 🍷 Thank you Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for any input on these two. Prayers will be said by many for those still on the Care list. So far everyone seems to be recovering okay from their recent surgeries. (I haven't finished reading the posts from last night after I signed off on CC). Hope all are feeling just a bit better today. 🙏 Our cruising list will have many disembarking in the next week but we still have some cruisers out there. I hope Annie @marshhawk, Chuck and BFF are successful in embarking in Vancouver in less than 2 hours. Actually, let's hope it takes less than 1 hour while we're wishing for something! Vanessa @JazzyV will disembark the Celebrity Apex today and continue on her adventures in Germany so I wish her a great time seeing the sights! 🥂🎉 The port of the day is Weymouth, Isle of Portland, England, a recent stop on Rich's world cruise. And as Graham @grapau27 said he was just there too. I know I certainly enjoyed visiting there! We have seen that port listed here by Rich on April 11, 2022 and July 28, 2022 so I will copy and paste the links here for your convenience. Then I will post my photos for everyone. Hope you enjoy them! My photos for Weymouth, Isle of Portland. We stopped at Portland, England on the Prinsendam's "Irish, Scottish and European River Cruise" on Sept. 13, 2018. What a lovely cruise that was! The skies were clear as we headed off the ship and boarded a bus provided for us to get over to Weymouth. We were dropped off a couple blocks from the small harbor. We passed this nice little restaurant/bar while we walked. First sight of the harbor which was very scenic. We were told this harbor was used in filming the movie "Dunkirk" which I've never seen. Behind you when looking at the harbor is this lovely downtown area. Ah, I see a fish and chips restaurant right there. We noticed a bridge to walk (or drive) across to get to the opposite shore so headed there. Here's a photo I took of a sign showing it raising, not knowing I'd see it raising later as we left. While standing on the bridge We headed down this main street, and went in a grocery store to pick up something. Toothpaste? We had been cruising a month and a half already on two cruise lines so I was getting low. At the end of the main street was the beach! Looks like saddles on these donkeys. People ride them? Perhaps only children. Good to see the man taking care of their hooves. A view as we returned back to the bridge. This area at the harbor was my favorite part of town. You can see the clouds were rolling in. All of a sudden I could see the drawbridge raising back where we had recently crossed. Zooming in We walked back to the bus pick up point for our ride back to Portland and the Prinsendam. Scenery as we neared the ship, photos taken through the bus windows of course so not the best. And a blurry photo showing the Prinsendam We drove right by Portland Castle. When time to leave we were treated to a band and some cannon fire. The view out my window as we sailed away. Shortly thereafter these shores with the sun's rays shining on them. An enjoyable stop on our Prinsendam cruise. DGS Ren has a big game at 5 pm Eastern time against a local rival, the Wolves so I hope the Jaguars are successful today. No offense Wolves! In fact a few of Ren's friends are on the Wolves team! Anyway hope everyone here has a great Sunday!

  23. Bruce, it looks like you will have a wonderful, memorable experience. Enjoy it to the fullest! Please don't cease posting memes! We love them and we know they are meant to be humorous. Please don't let one intolerant person stop what the rest of us enjoy. ❤️ Very well said Brenda! I agree. Thank you to Jacqui, and thank YOU for your input here as well.
