  1. I brought ducks dressed as sharks on the sky. I put 3 on the window ledge behind 3 kids that were acting up at dinner. Parents smiled as they kept them busy……. for 5 mins. Placed some by future cruise desk, plants, two shop workers raced to get one so I added another. They are fun within reason. Bring about 15 not 150.
  2. Mine is in May 2025 and this is the first time I had a flash sale attached to my sailing. Before it was either 5 or 10%.
  3. Thanks Everyone !!!!!!!!! That was easy. Cancelled, rebooked and all is confirmed.
  4. Noticed a Flash sale today, would save about 125.00 in total as there are three of us. Do I have to call Celebrity to cancel, don't see a way to do it online. Also how long do Flash sales last - only one day? Going to work but may have to try this when I get home tonight.
  5. Is there a time limit between drinks. In the evening on Princess I would get a double scotch. Guess I will order a single followed by another single
  6. Want to buy tickets on my own, worst case will be an excursion through the cruise line. The train is a must do. Cancelled an Alaskan cruise when there were issues with the Skagway train.
  7. Stayed at the park plaza Westminster last month. Great location.
  8. I’m on the May 10th cruise. Hubby had to have Flam for the train.
  9. Found the buffet very limited on the sky. Not blaming the staff but they seemed over worked. Many stations had no one there - maybe that is were the omelettes or eggs cooked to order would have been. Told to come back in 15 mins if I wanted pancakes so I took a waffle but had to ask for it. We weren’t there first thing or at closing. I did find things to eat …. Just not great not bad just meh…. Bright side bar drinks much more choice on Princess so was happy.
  10. This information is great! Marking the good, not so good and bad rooms on my deck 11 plan.
  11. That is great to know, I checked those rooms and the location would be perfect for me. A few cabins up would be good until I hit the pool area and a couple down as the Kid's Cafe won't be as noisy as the Garden Cafe. Even the other side of the ship in that location the top of the Splash Academy but way before hitting the Arcade and Teen Club. I searched this forum for what the white space was across from the Garden Cafe and said it was the Kitchen Galley. No mention of anyone staying in any of those rooms.
  12. Well found out that the blank space between the Teen Club and La Cucina on deck 12 is the buffet's galley - so again not a great place to be below on deck 11.
  13. Too bad Club Balcony Suites are only on deck 11. Can't do forward rooms due to the motion, I do better mid but that won't work as pools are on deck 12 mid ship. Only choice is to go further back maybe past where the teen club is and opposite side of the garden cafe. Although the cruise I am looking at is Boston to Bermuda two sea days and docked in Bermuda so might be able to do forward.
  14. Looking a several cruises on the Jewel, one on the Gem - seem to be the same layout. There are three adults in one room so looking at the Club Balcony Suite. Worried that all are on deck 11. Deck 12 has the pools, Garden Cafe, Youth center, Teen Club. How is the noise? Not thrilled to be under a teen club that goes till up to 1:00 am, or under the Garden Cafe that would open early in the morning. Pools - hear they start setting up deck chairs early. I like mid ship but that has all that on deck 12. Further back seems to be more open on opposite side of Garden Cafe. Upgrading to a suite is more than we can budget and like the room that the Club Balcony Suite would have for 3 adults. Comments on the noise?
  15. We purchased a 3 day London pass but you really have to plan your day to make it worth it. At Tower of London we were able to join the line for those with tickets. Never had a problem using the pass. Returning next year for another cruise from Southampton. May just buy a 4 item pass vs day passes as want to go to the British museum this year and not have such a packed itinerary. But back to the borough market for lunch - sausage rolls from the ginger pig are calling me back.
  16. Have a really good idea of where you are walking. Using google maps still confusing when it would tell me to turn left but that was just to cross the street - not turn left onto the street. I printed google maps at home as a backup. We stayed at the Park Plaza Westminster bridge and used the Westminster tube station alot. We landed and luckily they had a room for us - if not they would have held the luggage. Walked to Westminster Abby and did that, walked to Buckingham palace and saw the outside and did the Queen's Gallery, walked to Picadilly circus and then back to the hotel - 22,000 steps on no sleep. Next day - tube to Tower of London, Tower Bridge engine room, London Bridge Experience, lunch at borough market. Walked to White Chapel area for early dinner at a pub and did a Jack the Ripper Tour. Next day - tube to Kensington Palace, tube to Westminster and on the Thames river cruise, lunch/early dinner at a pub, up the shard and back to the hotel. Next day - train to Southampton - walked around had dinner at White Star Tavern. Next day on the ship and was glad the next day was a Sea Day to relax
  17. Sorry - my post that mentioned Celebrity not having real balconies was for the Edge Class ships. My Norway cruise for next year is on the Apex. Would prefer Princess Sky that I was just on that was a mini-suite with a balcony as there are three of us in the cabin
  18. Princess - Love that they have mini suites and real balconies, Drink package - many drinks in the Plus are covered but we went with Premium for the wine choices. Was able to get doubles of scotch to bring back to the room to sip on the balcony. No issue getting a drink and also bottles of water/cans of coke. Specialty restaurants were a good price and loved the Catch by Rudy. Did not Love - The Premium package included Ocean Terrace sushi for lunch on sea days but there was only one person making the sushi resulting in long lines and waits once you did get a table, same with premium desserts - opens at 2 pm, had one person making them and long lines starting prior to 2 pm. Found the Premium package not worth it except for the drinks. While 15 drink limit sounds like a lot there is an issue when they charged both mine and my husbands to his account all the time, had to really watch the count on the app as if one goes over you get charged and have to go to guest services to have it refunded. Hate hate hate the call center - they made mistakes and had wrong information when upgrading the drink package. Celebrity - Haven't sailed post Covid but found their buffet for breakfast and much better than Princess. Also found the MDR food much better on Celebrity - again this may have changed. Booked next cruise with Celebrity due to the better itinerary for Norway. Excellent call center - speak English and any requests handled correctly. Specialty restaurants very good but too pricey now. Drink package - while no daily limit did not allow doubles and also would not allow both a drink and water or soda. Had to wait to get bottled water to bring back to the room, not sure if it is still that way. Nothing included in basic package - need to upgrade for cocktails/martinis and still some over the premium package. Hate their pricing - having to pay more for refundable fares. For this reason alone would pick Princess as I like to book far out and when I see something I like I put down a deposit. I had two booked on Princess and decided later (way before the 90 days) which one I wanted as I researched ports/dates. Did not like that tips no longer in the somewhat all included price.
  19. I'm booked on the Apex for May 2025 sailing from Southampton. Its a 7 day that includes Flam and Geirangerfjord - two that I definitely wanted to see as they will be limiting access to these in 2026. Flam - railway was a must for hubby. Flying over to London for 3 nights, then 1 night in Southampton and 1 more night in London at the end so 7 day cruise works out best for us. Did the same this year for a Spain/France cruise out of Southampton with Princess. Like that there is a sea day the first day as we were extremely busy in London so was nice to rest for a couple of days on the ship.
  20. Didn't hate the breakfast and lunch buffet just didn't compare to Celebrity. Breakfast had the standard scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit...etc. Only put out a few pancakes or waffles and was always told to come back. Lunch had fish and chips daily (we sailed out of Southampton) did have some things change like roast pork or beef. It was just Ok. Did like that we could go to Alfredo's for lunch but it did get busy later in the cruise but if you expected to wait 1 hour it was still good.
  21. Agreed with the Medallion, it was my husband's birthday and was a nice touch with the display when we walked by. Wasn't happy with the Princess breakfast or lunch buffet, usually made a salad for lunch. Did love the Catch by Rudy for specialty dinners.
  22. Just back from Princess and was surprised by the number of kids. Was definitely a problem in the dining rooms with kids screaming. Nothing against kids as we brought our daughter with us when she was young but surprised at the number in the specialty restaurants that were running around. I had cruise ducks and gave the kids at one table a couple of them….. it helped for a couple of mins.
  23. Just returned from my first Princess cruise and in my survey (not that it will do any good) stated that I will be booking the next cruise on celebrity due to the Princess call center. When I needed to call I was given wrong information 3 times and had to hang up and call again. I feel sorry for anyone who would have thought that the wrong information was correct. Not only is it a pain to have to keep calling, it can be dangerous. My cruise was almost cancelled as the rep put in the wrong amount for a package upgrade and resulted in my cruise not being fully paid prior to the final payment date. I caught it but if wouldn't have been constantly checking could have resulted in my cruise being cancelled. They said it was a special, celebrity must have caught it and corrected the price to a higher amount (without notifying me) resulting in the cruise not being paid in full.
  24. We took the train the night before and stayed at the room2 hotel. Our ship was at the ocean terminal berth 46 so walked from the hotel across the street to the terminal. Our train on the Sunday was 1:40 some were 1:25 just depends on the stops. Took a cab from the station to the hotel there were cabs lined up
  25. Just noticed an earlier post that some have to change their passwords. Will give that a try.
