  1. We purchased a 3 day London pass but you really have to plan your day to make it worth it. At Tower of London we were able to join the line for those with tickets. Never had a problem using the pass. Returning next year for another cruise from Southampton. May just buy a 4 item pass vs day passes as want to go to the British museum this year and not have such a packed itinerary. But back to the borough market for lunch - sausage rolls from the ginger pig are calling me back.
  2. Have a really good idea of where you are walking. Using google maps still confusing when it would tell me to turn left but that was just to cross the street - not turn left onto the street. I printed google maps at home as a backup. We stayed at the Park Plaza Westminster bridge and used the Westminster tube station alot. We landed and luckily they had a room for us - if not they would have held the luggage. Walked to Westminster Abby and did that, walked to Buckingham palace and saw the outside and did the Queen's Gallery, walked to Picadilly circus and then back to the hotel - 22,000 steps on no sleep. Next day - tube to Tower of London, Tower Bridge engine room, London Bridge Experience, lunch at borough market. Walked to White Chapel area for early dinner at a pub and did a Jack the Ripper Tour. Next day - tube to Kensington Palace, tube to Westminster and on the Thames river cruise, lunch/early dinner at a pub, up the shard and back to the hotel. Next day - train to Southampton - walked around had dinner at White Star Tavern. Next day on the ship and was glad the next day was a Sea Day to relax
  3. Sorry - my post that mentioned Celebrity not having real balconies was for the Edge Class ships. My Norway cruise for next year is on the Apex. Would prefer Princess Sky that I was just on that was a mini-suite with a balcony as there are three of us in the cabin
  4. Princess - Love that they have mini suites and real balconies, Drink package - many drinks in the Plus are covered but we went with Premium for the wine choices. Was able to get doubles of scotch to bring back to the room to sip on the balcony. No issue getting a drink and also bottles of water/cans of coke. Specialty restaurants were a good price and loved the Catch by Rudy. Did not Love - The Premium package included Ocean Terrace sushi for lunch on sea days but there was only one person making the sushi resulting in long lines and waits once you did get a table, same with premium desserts - opens at 2 pm, had one person making them and long lines starting prior to 2 pm. Found the Premium package not worth it except for the drinks. While 15 drink limit sounds like a lot there is an issue when they charged both mine and my husbands to his account all the time, had to really watch the count on the app as if one goes over you get charged and have to go to guest services to have it refunded. Hate hate hate the call center - they made mistakes and had wrong information when upgrading the drink package. Celebrity - Haven't sailed post Covid but found their buffet for breakfast and much better than Princess. Also found the MDR food much better on Celebrity - again this may have changed. Booked next cruise with Celebrity due to the better itinerary for Norway. Excellent call center - speak English and any requests handled correctly. Specialty restaurants very good but too pricey now. Drink package - while no daily limit did not allow doubles and also would not allow both a drink and water or soda. Had to wait to get bottled water to bring back to the room, not sure if it is still that way. Nothing included in basic package - need to upgrade for cocktails/martinis and still some over the premium package. Hate their pricing - having to pay more for refundable fares. For this reason alone would pick Princess as I like to book far out and when I see something I like I put down a deposit. I had two booked on Princess and decided later (way before the 90 days) which one I wanted as I researched ports/dates. Did not like that tips no longer in the somewhat all included price.
  5. I'm booked on the Apex for May 2025 sailing from Southampton. Its a 7 day that includes Flam and Geirangerfjord - two that I definitely wanted to see as they will be limiting access to these in 2026. Flam - railway was a must for hubby. Flying over to London for 3 nights, then 1 night in Southampton and 1 more night in London at the end so 7 day cruise works out best for us. Did the same this year for a Spain/France cruise out of Southampton with Princess. Like that there is a sea day the first day as we were extremely busy in London so was nice to rest for a couple of days on the ship.
  6. Didn't hate the breakfast and lunch buffet just didn't compare to Celebrity. Breakfast had the standard scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit...etc. Only put out a few pancakes or waffles and was always told to come back. Lunch had fish and chips daily (we sailed out of Southampton) did have some things change like roast pork or beef. It was just Ok. Did like that we could go to Alfredo's for lunch but it did get busy later in the cruise but if you expected to wait 1 hour it was still good.
  7. Agreed with the Medallion, it was my husband's birthday and was a nice touch with the display when we walked by. Wasn't happy with the Princess breakfast or lunch buffet, usually made a salad for lunch. Did love the Catch by Rudy for specialty dinners.
  8. Just back from Princess and was surprised by the number of kids. Was definitely a problem in the dining rooms with kids screaming. Nothing against kids as we brought our daughter with us when she was young but surprised at the number in the specialty restaurants that were running around. I had cruise ducks and gave the kids at one table a couple of them….. it helped for a couple of mins.
  9. Just returned from my first Princess cruise and in my survey (not that it will do any good) stated that I will be booking the next cruise on celebrity due to the Princess call center. When I needed to call I was given wrong information 3 times and had to hang up and call again. I feel sorry for anyone who would have thought that the wrong information was correct. Not only is it a pain to have to keep calling, it can be dangerous. My cruise was almost cancelled as the rep put in the wrong amount for a package upgrade and resulted in my cruise not being fully paid prior to the final payment date. I caught it but if wouldn't have been constantly checking could have resulted in my cruise being cancelled. They said it was a special, celebrity must have caught it and corrected the price to a higher amount (without notifying me) resulting in the cruise not being paid in full.
  10. We took the train the night before and stayed at the room2 hotel. Our ship was at the ocean terminal berth 46 so walked from the hotel across the street to the terminal. Our train on the Sunday was 1:40 some were 1:25 just depends on the stops. Took a cab from the station to the hotel there were cabs lined up
  11. Just noticed an earlier post that some have to change their passwords. Will give that a try.
  12. Haven't logged in for a few weeks. Went to log in today and keep getting password error - tried a couple times using Chrome and once using Edge. I am entering the correct password. If others are having issues I will wait a day or two before attempting again.
  13. Just back and the train from Waterloo Station to Southampton central couldn’t have been easier. Walked from the park plaza Westminster to Waterloo station with luggage in about 10 mins or so. Boards show all departures and what platform the train will arrive on. We got to the station early to find our way around but was very easy. Luckily our Sunday train not impacted by any strikes occurring before and after Sunday. Took a cab to the room2 hotel and the next morning walked over to the cruise terminal. Cab ride was 10 pounds (for three of us with luggage). Cab was more than the train ticket. Easiest embarkation ever. Was on the ship and eating lunch by 11:30
  14. We did drive near Windsor castle but could only see the top of it in the distance. The guide mentioned that they usually go closer but there wasn’t time

    London Day Pass

Just returned from a cruise where we spent 3 nights in London prior to our cruise. You do need to do a lot of planning and make sure you group what you want to do to cut down on travel time. We saved a bundle but we hit the ground running upon our arrival. Left Toronto Wednesday night and arrived in London 10:30 am. Took the Elizabeth line and jubilee tube line to the hotel. Luckily a room was available if not they would have held our luggage. Headed to Westminster Abby waited in a small line to get in. Walked to Buckingham palace to enter the Queens Gallery. Next morning went to the Tower Of London then London Bridge experience (informative and fun but we love haunted houses so the trip to the dungeons was great) then to tower bridge and the engine room quick lunch at borough market at 6:00 pm did the Jack the Ripper tour. Last day Kensington Palace rode the Uber boat on the Thames from one end to the other then up the Shard. Was well with it for us was glad our first day on the cruise was a sea day
  16. Just back from a cruise and stayed in London for 3 nights. Walked to the Waterloo train station was very easy. Booked when the tickets became available for a great discount. Believe I paid 14 pounds per ticket. Took a taxi for 10 pounds to our hotel - room2. In the morning waked to the terminal. On board and eating in Alfredo’s by 11:30. Easiest embarkation ever. It helped that 95% of the passengers were from The UK and had to wait to get their medallions
  17. Just returned from a cruise and took this excursion. We were dropped off at terminal 2 Hilton Gardens before 2. Stayed one night before flying home. It must be popular as there were three groups ours we had to meet in the theatre at 7:15 and two others at 7:45. I don’t know why were were picked for the earlier one as we weren’t flying home till the next day. I received a letter stating which group we were in and had to fill in our flight times. I’m sure I could have changed it at guest services but didn’t want t mess things up. We were a bit delayed as on the way back from Stonehenge a tree had just fallen in front of us blocking the road and were stuck for about 30 mins
  18. Great idea, I'll order one and ask them to hold the candy, hold the brownie, hold the whipped cream, hold the sprinkles ..... and get gelato.
  19. Thanks !!! Tried it on my iPad that I am bringing and can log each one in with name booking number and birthdate
  20. We all have the premium package so wifi is no issue. Will get my daughter to download the app on her phone. Husband won’t bring his so will use one device for his login and one for mine. Will try creating accounts for them for our booking. Leave next week for our first Princess cruise and can’t wait
  21. There are three of us travelling, me, husband and adult daughter. I do all the bookings for trips and have the app on my phone and ipad, they do not and probably won't be bringing there phones. I can see my account and will be useful when checking number of drinks ordered. How do I see their accounts. Do I need to setup a login for each of them?
  22. Sounds good since if we don't go back on Princess, we can get the money back. We would be booking a 7 day cruise in a mini suite so for each 100.00 that we purchase would receive 50.00 OBC. Would probably buy 4 or 5 in total. I book online and in Canadian dollars and lately the deposit, well during a special, works out to be about 400.00 Canadian for the three of us. Since all three of us will be travelling but only me doing the booking, can I use the FCDs that are in my name and also my husband's name when booking? The OBC would be in US. Again I assume I can book online, but the wording in the post above states through your Travel Advisor or CVP.
  23. I read many posts but am still confused. We are sailing for the first time on princess next month, there are three adults in the room (me, husband and adult daughter). We already have a Norwegian Fjords cruise booked with Celebrity in May 2025 but am thinking of a Princess Caribbean cruise for 2026. How does the onboard cruise credit work - Assume (again only assuming from posts that I have read), we can purchase for 100.00 a future cruise credit and can use it to book a cruise within one year. Now is it that we book it within one year (so book by April 2025) but can be for a cruise in 2026? With this we get a 150.00 OBC? Since there are three of us we book a mini suite. Assume (lots of assumes here), we can only do one - so 100.00 that can be used for a future deposit and get one 150.00 OBC.
  24. Same question from me - looked at all drink menus online but no prices for Good Spirits. Does anyone know if they fall into the Plus or Premier package.
  25. Thanks!!!! Think I will purchase it now. Best case prices go down and I cancel and rebook. Prices could always go up before then so will be safe from that.
