  1. The OP inquired about what was everyone's favorite nights. You're inferring that it has to do with past cruises. The past is the past. Wanting to know about people's choices could influence the OP as to when they will make FUTURE choices regarding which night to try to get reservations at the 120 day mark. Since I currently have 3 out of my 4 future NCL bookings on the Prima, then the new policy would come into play. I also gave the link in case others were not aware of the change, which I'm sure there are many. Just like those who are not in the know regarding early reservations with Vibe could be disappointed when they show up early for the running of the passes and they find out they are sold out.
  2. They usually save a small percentage for reservations once onboard. But you need to make these reservations ASAP, like before lunch as soon as you get on board. You can book at any of the kiosks on board or at the box office.
  3. Depending upon which ship you're on, it really won't matter regarding looking at the MDR menu. Starting with the Prima and then expanding throughout the rest of the fleet in 2023, the MDR menu will be standardized and the same each and every night. https://thepointsguy.com/news/norwegian-cruise-line-prima-dining-changes/
  4. Not complicated at all. I can get a regular plastic straw at my local eating establishment by simply asking for one and the alternative I recently used on the Oasis OTS with my iced coffee was substantially better than the sugar ones that they have on Carnival. The Strawfish alternative on RCI might not be the best solution out there, but IMHO it's better than what they have on the Carnival ships at this time.
  5. I would save the 289 pp. The Vibe is good for the Caribbean or a Bermuda cruise. Canada and Alaska cruises are too cold and European cruises are too port intensive.
  6. I count five.....but 5 nights of specialty dining is now 202.80 pp after gratuity. Between the raise in price and the reduction of included nights, it's more profits for the line. If you're in a solo, inside or OV, you only get 1 night up to an 11 night cruise. We're getting 4 on our 11 night Prima because we booked it so long ago, but those booking today get 1 night. And it would cost them 142.80 for those extra 3 nights of specialty meals pp.
  7. The clientele on Celebrity and the clientele on Carnival are two entirely different beasts. A smoke free casino can and does survive on X, it would never fly on Carnival. There was a major uproar over the removal of the casino bar on at least one of the ships in the fleet, there would be mutiny if the casino became 100% smoke free.
  8. No, but there is a hell of a lot more space in the Vibe than on your balcony and the Vibe comes with a bartender.
  9. Canada/New England and Alaska cruises will be colder and thus the Vibe area needs to be at a cheaper price point to spur sales as opposed to a Bermuda cruise.
  10. NCL is taking a page out of RCI's playbook. Seems like the newer ships are more expensive for Vibe. We have 7 days booked on the Encore and the Prima and both are 229, and our 11 day on the Prima is 289 pp.
  11. And that was such a great innovation the bean counters decided to do away with it since the casino on board was not making enough profits since gamblers like to smoke.
  12. It's substantially cheaper to book an inside cabin with Vibe passes than be in a balcony cabin. That's why they make vanilla and chocolate.
  13. There was a chart posted on another thread that did mention 209, but all three of my future 7 night sailings Jan 23 Encore, Feb 23 Prima Mar 23 Prima are all 229 pp. Our 11 day Prima over Halloween is 289 pp, a much better value so that is what we booked.
  14. Besides having the first cruise ship over 100 K tons with the Destiny and having the first cruise ships with a self propelled bike and a roller coaster, can you name anything else that Carnival has been innovative about? Their competitors always come up with new and innovative things and Carnival just clings to the fact that they are the "Fun Ships" that are family oriented. It gets old after awhile. The Excel Class has been a game changer for them, so I will give them that. But it's very frustrating that the cruise line I have over 50% of my cruises taken on is usually a follower and rarely a leader.
  15. Unless you are able to get a sailaway rate on NCl, you will be paying more for the option that includes their perks. RCI of course does no bundling and you'll pay dearly for the extras because of their Dynamic Pricing policy when it comes to the peripheral stuff like drink packages, specialty meals, wifi and excursions. Unlike other lines, the price always fluctuates depending upon the ship you're on and when you sail. This really frustrates me about RCI, but the Loyal Royals will always defend their asinine policy. Used to fly on SW back in the day when they had non stops to FLL, but since they don't offer it any more, we usually stick to AA. I would do your research on one of the many travel agent websites that specialize in cruising. Can't give names because of CC rules, but a Google search should pull up a few choices. Once you have your choice there is also another website that you can Google search that will allow different agencies to give you quotes on a particular cruise. Once again, can't give any more information. Best of luck with your search.
  16. You're looking at ships going out of Galveston, New Orleans and Fort Lauderdale. Since you're from Philly, I would lean towards Florida departure ports such as MIA, FLL or PC. They airfare there is much cheaper out of Philly than Galveston or NO. Plus the shuttle from either of the Houston airports to Galveston is expensive compared to FLA. I would look at the NCL Escape out of PC(2015), the NCL Encore out of MIA(2019), The Harmony OTS out of MIA(2016) and the Odyssey OTS out of FLL(2020). The Escape is the oldest of the four choices and it's only 7 years old. Compare itineraries and prices and make an educated decision. If you decide on one of the last three ships, you always have the option to fly into MIA or FLL, non stop via AA is usually your best bet from PHL.
  17. Costa, Aida and P&O UK are the European contingent in Carnival Corp. That's why they only send one ship across the pond from CCL. No need to compete against themselves.
  18. At least you picked a new ship with the Seashore for next month. The buffet food is not as good as Carnival, the pizza is better and the entertainment is European skewed. But the price point with the drinks package is substantially cheaper than Carnival after you add Cheers.
  19. Grilled chicken and waffles for brunch. What's your cabin number?
  20. Might as well pack one of Ron Popeil's Pocket Fisherman so you can catch your dinner off of your balcony. 😂
  21. There was a post stating that someone was upset about visiting Norway for the umpteenth time. That is where the comparison to Cozumel comes in because those that primarily cruise the Caribbean can make the same statement about Cozumel since so many cruises go there. I hope this further clarification clears up that I was not comparing Cozumel to Norway.
  22. So, you've laid the gauntlet down, now it's time to back it up. How many cruises have you taken and give a breakdown per cruise line please. And when did you cruise on the "boring" Celebrity Edge?
  23. Usually thrown around primarily by Loyal Royals who have never cruised on Carnival and they just regurgitate second hand information. To educate you, more often than not, MSC is even cheaper when you compare an apple to an apple.
  24. I became aware of 1942 a few years ago when it was featured on Bravo's Below Deck. Do you prefer it neat or with a cube?
  25. Thanks for the heads up. Was able to get 3 nights @ Hudson, 3 @ Commodore, 2 @ Cagney's and 2 @ Onda. First night was jammed so we'll probably do the prime rib buffet. Very frustrating since I like to get our entertainment choices locked in first and then work dinner around it.
