  1. Please make sure the scooter you're renting will fit through the cabin door of your non HC cabin.
  2. If your spa suite is not a HC cabin, the doorway could be too narrow to accommodate the wheelchair rental. It would behoove you to contact Scootaround for the dimensions of the scooter you'll be renting and make sure that it will fit in your cabin. Also, just because you're in a suite doesn't mean you'll have a ton of extra space to park and charge the scooter since you can't park it in the hallway. Unless you have a foldable scooter that will fit under your bed, it's always nice to have the extra room that a HC cabin provides for your scooter.
  3. For the price of what they charge for the rental, if you travel a lot it's better to go and buy your own scooter. Golden Technologies Buzzaround was specifically built for the cruise market and folds down to 13". Can even fit in a non HC cabin since it's 18.5" wide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGWHQHfltII
  4. This would be a better forum to ask that question. Obviously most people reading this forum have a member of their family with mobility issues and this would be the better place to get specific HC information instead of the generic Alaska board.
  5. Thanks. The only PM nonstop flight isn't until 1030. There's a 600 PM that connects through PHX, so it would only be worth it if that flight is substantially cheaper than the two options we have out of YVR.
  6. That's the perfect work around in order to get two towers of onion rings per day. If you need more than that.....SMH.
  7. The best workaround is if you happen to be on a B2B and have the UDP lined up for the back end. We were on the Oasis for a five day to Canada and a seven day to the Bahamas recently and had the UDP for week two as well as a voucher from my TA. Not only did they take the voucher and let us eat in Chop's during week one, the hostess told me to come back on the last sea day at lunch time and she would input all of our dining requests for the following week for the specialties. We had 7 dinners as well as two lunches at Chops reserved through her.
  8. Should be good, but only on embarkation and sea days since the UDP is only good for dinners on port days.
  9. We were on a B2B on the Oasis and had regular dining our first half and the UDP as well as a voucher for the two of us from my TA on the second week. RCI allowed us to use the voucher at Chop's Grill during our first week. If you're not on a B2B, which I assume, two other possibilities would be to book the Taste of Royal for lunch or to use it to cover the 10.00 pp upgrade for Teppanyaki. The taste of Royal would eliminate one of your sea day lunches with the UDP, so maybe just getting 20.00 for the Teppanyaki upgrade would be better, that's up to you. I'm sure a supervisor on board would have to approve it, but I can't see why not.
  10. You can get it at the Vitality Spa Cafe all day long. Enjoyed AM and PM servings on a recent Oasis cruise.
  11. In the specialty restaurants, you'll be able to get cappuccino or espresso, bottles of San Pellegrino and canned sodas with no problem. If you want fresh squeezed OJ, besides the MDR and buffet in the AM, you can go to the Vitality Spa cafe and get it as well. It's the place to get smoothies and all different combinations of fresh squeezed juices. Smoothies obtained at a bar will be made with cartoned product, whereas you can get them made with fresh fruit at the cafe, a real big difference.
  12. Going to be sailing on the Majestic next year for a 14 day cruise RT out of Vancouver and was wondering if Princess offers transfers to Seattle or not. Airfares for the back end of our trip open up in 10 days and being able to get nonstop flights out of Seattle is much better than connecting flights out of Vancouver. If not it's either a short layover in DFW (1.5 hrs) or a much longer one in LAX (6.5 hrs). Thanks
  13. At this point the closest you would find out of Vancouver are all one way cruises to either LA or SD. The Majestic has a 5 day on 10/3/23, the Celebrity Eclipse has a 7 day on 9/24/23 and the RCI Radiance OTS has an 8 day on 9/29/23.
  14. Since we're going to be booking wheelchair accessible excursions for our Alaska cruise for next year, by any chance do you know how many days prior to your cruise do bookings open up? Since there possibly are a limited number of participants that can utilize these tours I don't want to be shut out of any we wish to go on.
  15. YMMV regarding bringing on additional 12 packs from a port stop such as the CVS located near the San Juan port or the grocery store in St Thomas in the Havensight Mall.
  16. The Carnival cards can be used for everything associated with your cruise, either before the cruise or during the cruise. The Celebrity cards can only be used for 500 pp when you initially book your cruise. The RCI cards have even more restrictions so I don't use them. Have not cruised HAL yet, so I am not familiar with their restrictions. The Princess cards can be used for deposits, payments and to pay sail n sign bill. They can't be used for excursions and it's a gray matter regarding EZAir, technically not allowed, but some have reported being able to use them.
  17. I'm currently sitting on about 8100 in cards and was disappointed to hear that you can't use it on EZAir or more importantly, excursions. Need to wait till bookings open up for spring 2024 as well as the Sphere Class to make future reservations and use up the balance after paying off our 14 day Alaskan cruise for 2023. Edit....Just got off the phone with Princess. Front end air bookings for our Majestic cruise out of Vancouver are open, but not on EZAir yet. Air Canada, which we won't use has been open for a few weeks while American and United have opened up within the past week. I don't want to risk not being able to book the flights I want so I will book the front end on my own and when the back end opens in two weeks, I will get a price quote through EZAir and hopefully get a discount. Looking for first class tickets. Even if EZAir doesn't provide a discount, if I can book them immediately and use my gift cards, the 10% savings will be over 100.00.
  18. If you're getting five 500.00 cards pp via AARP, that's 10,000.00 worth of cards for June and July.
  19. I lost more than that in the last week, LOL. I'm in it for the long haul. Will continue to obtain OBC from Princess and Carnival sailings, 1050.00 worth over the next 19 months.
  20. If you think the entire cruise industry is going to go bankrupt, then why are you wasting your time posting on a cruise board? Why not go post on TripAdvisor regarding some land based vacation you have gone on previously.
  21. I was just rebuffing your assumption regarding the limited experience that you had pertained to everyone. The experience that we had, which I'll reiterate was not limited at all, also was not pigeonholed to just Princess or another single line since we have sailed on four different lines with various cruiser percentages on board. Wasn't bragging at all, just presenting the facts. We sailed on all mass market lines, with two of them being more family oriented with Royal and Carnival and two of them being a bit more upscale with Celebrity and Princess.
