  1. So she will have shiny new areas for our 14 day repositioning cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Brooklyn in August of 2024. 👍
  2. The exact same sentiments are posted on the boards of Celebrity, Royal, NCL and Carnival.
  3. The reasoning about what? Standing in line to wait for a good seat?
  4. Chair hogs are not right, just like 5 people showing up for a show a few minutes before doors open while a single family member waiting in line. There is nothing written, but it's common courtesy to do the right thing and far too many people don't do it often enough. Especially in the buffet when non handicapped people occupy handicapped seats.
  5. We don't keep all of our eggs in one basket, instead we prefer to primarily sail on the newest ships that various lines offer. This way we tend to have less problems occur. 25 nights on the NCL Prima, 14 nights on the Discovery Princess, 28 nights on the Carnival Mardi Gras, 5 nights on the Carnival Celebration, 12 nights on the Celebrity Apex, all occurred over the past 14 months. And of the 13 future cruises currently booked, the oldest ship is the 6 year old Majestic Princess which we'll spend 14 days on in Alaska in a few months. Bottom line. All of the lines are doing cutbacks and as a consumer we're receiving less value for our vacation dollar, but it doesn't feel as bad if you're cruising on a shinier toy instead of a possible rust bucket.
  6. Don't know if you're traveling solo or with a group, but solo @ 37.50 for the shuttle would be the only way I would possibly consider it, but there are many shared shuttles that will get you there for around 25.00. And would be in a van instead of a bus and as mentioned cheaper. If there are two of you, Uber or Lyft would be a great choice and if 3 or more, Uber XL or Lyft XL.
  7. Words were exchanged by a gentleman who was in line a few in front of us to the group of 6 that expanded to 12 after the second couple came up and then again after the third couple came up. Is it the right thing to have 1 person stand in line and then have 5 others join a few minutes prior to the doors opening....no, far from it. Can people do it since there is one lone female employee doing crowd control, of course. Luckily this was the only instance over the course of the 10 shows that we saw. I was just glad that on the Prima the Haven occupants did not get escorted in before those staying in steerage did.
  8. 15 per day per person, but there are ways around it for those that need to consume more.
  9. Would we be considered low-life and be possibly ejected from our seats if we went to Vines and ordered a glass of Mad Dog 20/20?
  10. That exact scenario happened on the first night we were on board and words were exchanged. There was a family of about 6 waiting and over the course of about an hour, an additional 6 showed up to join them in 3 groups of two. Had a brief conversation with my DH and we decided that we would show up 2 hours before the show started on subsequent evenings, resulting in a 90 minute wait before the doors opened up 30 minutes prior to showtime. That first night we had gotten there 90 minutes prior. The family of about 12 wanted to be seated in the same area so the table we wanted was available since we were about 20th in line that night. The best show of the week was the Rumours show, which was held at 730 and 1000. The second best show was the show on night 1. They played on nights 1 and 3 at 900, Rumours was night 4 and nights 6 & 7 the shows were at 1000. The lowest attended shows both weeks were on night 7, the Prom.
  11. Emeril's has never been free. No reason at all to pass on the beignets for five dollars.
  12. I assumed they were sailing on the Fantasy.
  13. Your statement is falling on deaf ears. Those who choose to leave their scooters in the hallway are card carrying members of the me society who only think about themselves and have no empathy towards others with regards to the implications of their actions.
  14. We spent 14 days on the Discovery last April and Gigi's was always very busy for lunch. If you get on the ship early, I would recommend it for embarkation day.
  15. Different people like different things. We didn't mind putting in the time since they were the best entertainment on the ship by a long run. You can only eat so much and drink so much so standing for 90 minutes to obtain the best seats was OK for us. Light Balance, Press Your Luck, Supermarket Sweep and Beat the Clock were all entertainment choices mentioned by NCL that never came to fruition and Noise Boys is also already gone with no replacement. The other musical choices on board were ok, but nothing compared to the 4 singers and 4 musicians at Syd's.
  16. Stuffed with butter poached lobster 🦞 tail.
  17. This is the way to go. Take your time getting off the ship and get a 100-300 flight home if possible.
  18. 🤬🤬🤬 Get a HC cabin and then you won't have to illegally park the scooter in the hallway during the day, you can just leave it in your cabin.
  19. It wasn't a concern to the powers that be on those sailings because 90% of the time rules that are broken are allowed by Carnival. But it was a concern to anyone else on that hall that was in a scooter and had to squeeze by the illegally parked scooter of your M-I-L.
