  1. No problem. We got cards from AARP for Celebrity that were classified as premium and had a great deal on Black Friday 2021. Was able to only get 2 cards, but it was at a higher discount and even after factoring in the membership cost was still cheaper than 10% off. Seems like the HA cards are similar to Princess and Carnival in that you can use them for all purchases and are not restrictive like the Celebrity cards.
  2. You're correct, I was thinking transport chair, not rollator. But, I was correct about the price. Just did a quick Google search and 4 different options came up for around 50 bucks for a basic black transport chair probably from Drive. The light blue one you have pictured would be a Cadillac compared to the Ford Fiesta version from Drive.
  3. Where at? Not where the small infinity pool in the Loft 19 area is located.
  4. The cove balconies are even closer to the water on the 3 Vista Class ships compared to the Excel Class ships.
  5. Many people don't like change. There are those who cruise Carnival and either don't like or won't sail on the Excel Class ships because they think they're too big. The Vista Class is 133.5 K tons and the Excel is 180 K tons. These people obviously have not sailed on any of the recent builds over the past 10 years on NCL or RCI that are all bigger than the Vista Class The same is true for the new Prima on NCL. She is so different from the rest of their fleet that many NCL diehards hate her, but those who have sailed on various lines appreciate the upgrades that NCL has done with this new class of ship.
  6. Of course it's pure speculation at this point whether the cruises will be 7/14 or 10/20 in length once she begins embarking from Port Everglades in October of 2024.
  7. Get her a rollator. They can be bought for under 100.00 and you own it. The airlines do not charge you for transportation if you're flying to the port. This way she can be pushed all around the ship and the rollator is easier to maneuver than an wheelchair. The only difference is that a wheelchair can be self propelled whereas a rollator needs to be pushed.
  8. AARP also has Princess as well as Holland America cards. You also do not have to be a member of AARP to buy them. You do however need to be a member to purchase Carnival cards on their site since they are classified as premium cards. The limit is 5 cards per person per month, so you theoretically could get 5000 worth each month between you and your SO.
  9. Sorry, since you have not sailed on the Excel Class yet that assumption is incorrect. Have been on the Excel Class five times and have four more booked. The Serenity area is about three times the size of any of the others in the fleet. It doesn't have a waterfall, but it does have a pool, multiple hot tubs, a bar, a salad area, recessed seating and many loungers and beds to enjoy.
  10. Which cruise line has a drink package for 40 bucks a day? The Easy package on MSC is the only one that is close and it's a joke. Well liquors and draft beer? No thank you. Luckily we have the easy Plus packaged in on our upcoming Meraviglia cruise. Carnival, RCI, NCL, Princess, Holland America and Celebrity are all substantially higher. And I would never tell someone that they don't need to leave the ship to go on excursions, so please don't tell someone else that they don't need the drink package. Different people vacation in different ways. Having cruised the Caribbean over 40 times we primarily cruise on the newest ships that various lines offer and we stay on board. And with the exception of the dynamic pricing policy of RCI, we always get the drink package, whether it's included on MSC, NCL, Princess or Celebrity or a la carte on Carnival via Cheers.
  11. Certainly brings in more money to offset the billions bled. Every dollar helps
  12. Yes, but Sid has the upgraded drink package which includes unlimited Starbucks.
  13. Please show me when you can sail on the Wonder of the Seas for half the price of the Celebrity Beyond. If you take the all inclusive pricing of an Edge Class ship and compare it to one of the 25 year old RCI ships, you may have a point. But then, it's not an apple to apple comparison.
  14. Having close to 50 under my belt on various lines, have to agree about your opinion of Celebrity. Their new Edge Class raises the bar even a bit further than their M & S Class ships. We sailed on the Edge for 7 days prior to Covid and on the Apex for 12 post Covid. Had such a great time we deposited on board an 18 day B2B on their new Beyond for November. Another comparable line is Princess, which we had 14 days on the Discovery last April and will knock out a bucket list cruise this summer on the Majestic for 14 days to Alaska. Their plus package is now 60 a day and includes wifi, gratuities, drinks package and upgraded desserts. Carnival and MSC will continue to be the value lines, but Celebrity and Princess are a nice upgrade without rambunctious children, immature groups of teenagers and large groups that enjoy taking over venues.
  15. Even though your palate may not appreciate the difference between Jose Cuevo and Don Julio, your head of course will be thanking you the following morning since you have less of a chance of a hangover if you drink the higher end stuff responsibly. 🥃
  16. Crew karaoke bar. Open from 8:00 pm to 3:00 am.
  17. That's where we watched the World Series back in November. 🥲
  18. Don't forget the chocolate covered strawberries you got. 😉
  19. If you're going to be enjoying any vodka based drinks, Rommel turned me on to Avorza. It's a organic vodka from Poland that the ship had gotten back in the fall. Had many a spicy Bloody Mary in Vibe with it.
  20. The only on tap Margarita is the Smoked Peach one that a few of the bars have on tap.
  21. Sid, that's not the buffet. I believe it could be the Commodore Room, which is the smaller MDR. It's purely speculative since we ate all of our MDR meals in the Hudson, which was the most beautiful looking MDR we have seen in almost 50 cruises.
  22. As usual there are two different ways to attempt to add to the bottom line. Carnival and Royal are keeping passengers happy by continuing to use the emuster method and thus keeping the money flowing by having those happy customers decide to continue sailing on their cruise line of choice even though there is a higher cost involved with the number of employees needed to administer the e-method. On the other hand, NCL has decided to save money by going back to the old method and eliminate the higher cost involved with the number of employees needed to administer the e-method. Of course this is in conjunction with other ways of adding to the bottom line such as another price increase of the DSC up to 20 bucks a day, the elimination of two a day cleaning of cabins, the elimination of many of the entertainment options and the increase in the number of entrees now being surcharged in the specialty restaurants such as 10.00 now being added for the filet in Le Bistro.
