  1. Okay, when you get confirmation that they are under other licensed jurisdiction for payback and internal software, let me now.
  2. While CLIA isn't law, you don't think there is any contract in place that members of CLIA have to adhere? Every line under CLIA has regulations. CLIA policy states that they follow Nevada gaming rules and regulations, so there is a lot more than one page.
  3. If he had said "gambling outside of the casino's operation," would that have satisfied your need for semantics (from the Brand Ambassador, who is not the legal team)? Maybe you should see if John Heald has a spot for you on the payroll... Who has done you so wrong that you find a "lie" in every sentence ever put together.
  4. Cruise ship casinos are not free from regulations, even in international waters.
  5. There are very few ways to fully ensure anything. The only thing they can do is state what is and isn't acceptable, per guidelines. People can choose to either follow or break the rules. Marijuana isn't allowed on ships, yet it still makes it there.
  6. This is no longer the case, this year they have started doing basically BOGO offers. If it does not say complimentary room for two, and instead says "1 COMPLIMENTARY GUEST IN DOUBLE OCCUPANCY" that means your fare is free, but you will have to pay the second fare, regardless if you take another guest or not. We try to avoid these offers, I definitely would not use one on a solo trip.
  7. We had Rudi's on Celebration, that's the only ship we've ever had it, and have heard from a few that it wasn't quite as good as other ships. So for our first and only experience, we don't have anything to compare it to. We both enjoyed it though, we both got the Lobster Imperial or something like that, which was quite good. I will say though, we got dinner comped by the casino, and I'm not sure that I would pay the upcharge, at least on Celebration, since there were SO many other food options on that ship. And I just prefer steak. 😄 No complaints about the dinner though.
  8. For a standard balcony, I would probably choose Celebration. Dining options are wonderful, new beautiful ship. We are on Horizon for ABC in a Havana room, if booking a Havana room, I would definitely choose Horizon. But I love both ships, and would be happy on either.
  9. Interesting idea, I'm actually in Virginia Beach, so about 15 minutes from Norfolk port.
  10. I got the same Greenland cruise on Pride, I'm assuming because it is supposed to be from Baltimore, and a lot of people probably cancelled or are hesitant to book and they have a of rooms to unload. I think this one is probably an outlier, so I wouldn't feel too bad.
  11. I understand, what I am saying is, if you Uber from your hotel to the port, the port is very congested, so it's not uncommon that drivers cancel. Instead, don't Uber to the port, but Uber to a location a block or so from the port and walk to the port. We Ubered from our house, we randomly picked the Hilton because we know the area and know it would be easy to get dropped off there and walk to the port.
  12. It helps if you Uber a block or two away from the port, and then walk a few blocks. The area by the terminal gets super congested, so a lot of drivers don't like it. The last time we Ubered to the Hilton right by the port, and just walked a few blocks. Super easy walk.
  13. Wow, surprised to read the comments about Grand Cayman. I love that port! I'd go there again and again. Tendering was a hindrance, but aside from that, one of my favorite ports!
  14. I got a cuban from the deli ON MAGIC in May. We can critique if it is really a cuban all we want, but all I can say is, man, that thing slapped at 10:45pm! I wasn't even drunk! I kept wanting to go back for another one, but was always full from all the other options.
  15. More patience than most. I applaud.
  16. Having sailed both RCI and Carnival several times recently, since the pandemic, I 100% think Carnival's food is several steps above Royal Caribbean. Food is subjective.
  17. Yes, I am so curious what explanation Carnival provided for this. Please let us know how you got this resolved.
  18. We were on Glory, which is the same class as Liberty, to Montego Bay February 2023. I love Conquest class ships, but of the ones you mentioned, I might like Horizon the best. We stuck with an excursion and rode ATVs, decently fun, but not the best ATV excursion we've done. It was at an excursion park though, so lots of people there for lots of different things, horseback riding, beach, etc. The beach there was beautiful. I agree that I wouldn't wonder out too much on my own. My brother actually had to disembark in Montego Bay due to a medical emergency. Carnival helped arrange transport to the airport. Apparently it was quite an experience in the taxi to the airport, with the driver talking about wanting to shoot his boss who lived in the mansion on the hill. He also kept offering to take them shopping, instead of the airport. After that report, I don't think I'd taxi anywhere on my own.
  19. Not trying to come at you, (or derail this thread), you often have good information and are quick to help answer questions, but I really don't understand why you struggle so much with accepting that people actually do enjoy cruising on Carnival. I get that it's not like the good ol' days, but dollar for dollar, I would book Carnival over Royal Caribbean everytime (I am using that here because RCI is currently the only other line I have experience with). My experience on Carnival has always been better than my experience on RCI. The fact that it is competitively priced is an added bonus. RCI wins in ships, hands down, but the ship doesn't make the experience for me. I know this board is flooded with posts complaining about the cruise line which you feel might validate your opinion, but so is RCI, and I'd wager to say it's not much different on NCL boards, or even Princess or Celebrity. You've mentioned Disney, and I really don't consider them a player in this game, but I'd be curious to know what other experience you have on other lines that are direct competitors that would backup such a broad statement.
  20. If you plan to do laundry, I would recommend bringing some detergent pods or such. I actually find it very convenient to do laundry onboard, but the detergent dispensers are horrendous, and often empty.
  21. Just about to post this. Not really an even comparison. If you schedule boarding for Carnival for 2p or later, you can generally go right to you room. VV just eliminates boarding before rooms are ready.
  22. At this time, Carnival isn't using a bid system for upgrades. As others have said, there is a possibility you'll receive an offer to "upgrade" for a cost. Sometimes good value, sometimes not. I don't mind interiors. I'd say if you really want to get on a ship, grab the interior. You might get better offers later.
  23. Do you have any offers? It looks like my "Play N' Chill" offers show as "Play My Way" in the description, but they are the same offer codes that I had before. I don't really keep track of the name, but more the offer code and terms.
  24. Great and thorough review - thank you for the time to share your experience!
