  1. Holy Schnikes! After about a week away (Christmas VAC and I avoid the computer as much as possible when not working lol!) - I come back to this news, albeit a little late to the show and 4 pages deep. Merry Christmas to me!
  2. Rush rush rush seems by choice. You could opt to sit an a lounger all day long if you chose to do so.
  3. As someone who has done both, I will take a cruise over camping 1000 times over. But TBH, I dislike camping quite a bit lol.
  4. And this is why food is subjective. I actually quite like the Reuben at the Carnival deli, and think Carnival's buffet is hands down better than RCI. Was on the Wonder in November, and the buffet, while set up well, had mostly cold, flavorless food. And that's RCI's newest ship right now.
  5. Hence, the cost-saving measures, or "cutbacks" as everyone likes to say.
  6. I do mind the price increases. I like that there are price-points for everyone, me included. I haven't experienced any "rougher customers," and I appreciate having an affordable option. And if I'm being truthful, I find the crowd on Carnival to be much more fun than other lines I've sailed. I agree prices have increased, but this isn't specific to Carnival, or even cruising. But, if you feel the value isn't appropriate to the cost, you did the logical thing and adapted by looking at other options.
  7. The prices on the first picture are per person. The second picture is total for 2 guests with taxes and port fees. Looks correct. The only difference is some categories are sold out.
  8. Well, I mean, if the target market finds the current product acceptable, why wouldn't Carnival put that product out? I think it's being overlooked that Carnival is BILLIONS of dollars in debt. What they were once capable of doesn't mean the are currently capable. I took my first cruise in 2018. I had a better time on every one of my cruises than any previous vacation I can remember, and will continue to sail with Carnival. I have no problem defending the product.
  9. I'll be honest, I never knew it was even a thing. lol. I guess I don't get the omelette hype. I also never understood why anyone waits in that long line on the lido for an omelette. I can make one at home in 5 minutes.
  10. Yeah, we've won a couple of $10 dollars here or there. Never the second chance.
  11. I've done the steakhouse on Magic and Glory and had a fantastic meal every time. Of course, there are variances from ship to ship, and haven't been on Mardi Gras, but we plan to visit it on every ship. 100% the experiences so far have been worth it.
  12. I know this has been explained a few times, but how difficult is it to have gift card applied as OBC? Does this have to be done at customer service, or kiosk onboard, or can it be done ahead of time on the website?
  13. I think the Facebook posts have been passive aggressive too. Here's a hot take: He wanted the Cruise Fleet Director position, but was passed for Chris Williams. Probably had a bad day or something rubbed the wrong way and he said Peace Out, Bees.
  14. Next up is Celebration in February. I like any ship though really, but I'm interested to check out Venezia.
  15. It's easiest if you just put the credit card info for each account beforehand. Then you can just get extra room keys, that only function as a room key. Everything else will be tied to the Sign and Sale card, which doesn't change.
  16. They aren't really deals. They send the same "sale" for pretty much every occasion you can think of, if you have a cruise booked. Halloween? Black Friday? 30 days until your cruise? It's Wednesday? Here, have a sale! It's generally very similar pricing on any sale.
  17. The more formal experience still exists. I think it's time to accept that it is no longer the experience on Carnival.
  18. Yes, the opinion of many, it seems, is that the idea of pajamas at breakfast in a public area is offensive. Did you read the comments?
  19. There's a lot to consider here. First, I hope we aren't naive enough to believe that everyone's TCH content is correctly labeled. This is to say, I can take some high-as-a-kite gummies and put them in a container labeled CBD, and no one is going to be testing them at the port. Scissors aren't illegal.
  20. Why, though? Just curious how someone in their pajamas impacts your daily activities.
  21. Curious what the "upgrade" offered is, from an Aft Balcony. I'd only see a suite as being an upgrade.
  22. My only concern here is: Just off an RCI cruise, where there is a lot of discussion surrounding this. There are of course stories of people being denied jackpots because they (the person pressing the button) weren't the name printed on the card. The point was raised though, you can play without using a card at all, so how could you be denied. The answer is - the policy states that misuse or abuse of the card voids winnings. In this case, if you are using someone else's card to accumulate points, that could probably be considered misuse. My partner and I played a lot together, on one card, and we were both seated together the whole time, so I felt confident that we weren't misusing the card, and if we won a jackpot, we would receive it. I would feel less confident if we were not seated together. Again, this is RCI policy, I haven't taken the time to read the Carnival TOS specific to this, but I'd assume it is similar. I don't have any personal experience either way, and most of the accounts and stories are hearsay. But I, myself, probably won't risk it if there were even the slightest chance. I want that money!
  23. Don't waste your time, Elaine will never concede to this, even though there are countless examples otherwise.
  24. I just don't understand why people are so offended by this thought. Part of me can see the uproar if it were dinner in the MDR (although I couldn't care less about what someone else is wearing, I understand the whole formal dining experience that people expect and enjoy). But OP asking about breakfast. I mean, come on. This is breakfast. I don't think anyone is planning on showing up in a teddy or negligee, what difference does it make if someone comes to breakfast in pants made out of flannel or made out of denim. Why my outfit would impact anyone's breakfast dining experience just baffles me. And then why it would be acceptable for a "special event" but otherwise unacceptable. It's the same clothing. The gifts though, I'd probably leave those in the room.
