  1. That's great. But, if they have, I haven't seen them and I've been on two cruises post-COVID, Ovation and Independence. And, I sat at a lot of bars and they had nothing salty to make you thirsty and want to drink more. So, I hope you are talking about a new, relatively, way of doing things.
  2. I'm usually hypercritical of removing things. Especially that are/were customary, like nuts and pretzels on a bar. BUT, I was never a big fan of reaching into a bowl of nuts, chips, pretzels, or popcorn that just about everybody else reaches into with their bare hands just after leaving the restroom, picking their nose, scratching, never mind. I say, "good riddance". Individual packets would be fine and appreciated, though.
  3. Well, I think you'll find that there is a lot of differences, yes they are the same Class ship but still different in many ways. Symphony is my favorite ship, so far. We really enjoyed "Hooked" seafood restaurant, which Oasis doesn't have. Give it a try, it's a great ship. Oh, and Symphony is much newer, too.
  4. I sure hope RCCL doesn't die of a thousand cuts.
  5. Our water here in Oxford, AL is supposed to be pretty good. Just ask them. However, after distilling 6 gallons of tap water, you'd be surprised at the amount of crap is in the bottom and sides of the distiller. It ain't purdy. It's like a white talcum powder. We only use the tap water to wash dishes and clothing with. Other than that, we use the Zero Water filter system for drinking and cooking. Distilled for the CPAP machines. We do keep a very health supply of bottled water, too. EDITED IN: I forgot to mention, I've been told and read by many sources that the ships water is fairly good. However, I don't care for the taste of it. If I can taste something, it ain't pure. Not that any I've described above is pure. Maybe taking a sample of the ships water and take it to a water filtration company, most will test it for free, we find out just how good the ships water is, at least that ship's water.
  6. I make my own. Takes all day to make 6 gallons. But, well worth the effort. https://www.amazon.com/CO-Z-Distiller-Countertop-Distilling-Distillers/dp/B09CTRMXSR/ref=sr_1_6?crid=UCQCN4XSQDKS&keywords=water%2Bdistiller&qid=1674252433&sprefix=water%2Bdistiller%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-6&th=1
  7. Figures. Like I said, the cruise industry is notorious for not enforcing their own rules. Well, unless it interferes with their profit margin. But, if it is a customer related issue that doesn't involve money, your own your own.
  8. Just a friendly piece of advice. I know that not all Enterprise Offices are the same. Some have great management and some don't. I don't recall seeing the Enterprise Office in Port Canaveral so I can't comment specifically about THAT location. However, make sure you check the entire vehicle out, glove compartment, under seats, above the sun visors, trunk, spare tire compartment, any place that something could be hidden. My dad rented a car from Enterprise in Ft. Lauderdale and much to my surprise, I opened the glove compartment and a large, I mean a large/full gallon baggie of MJ. Looked a little further and found a few very small pills under the driver's seat. On other occasions we've found items in the cars, things like gloves and sun glasses and so on. I think a lot of Enterprise locations just use the local car wash that cleans what they can see and that's it. I know a local Enterprise in a town I lived in just two years ago was so busy, they would give you a car that was just brought back in without washing/vacuuming, nothing. They were that busy and if you didn't like it, you could go somewhere else. We had to wait for over 2 hours for a car to show up, we weren't leaving without a car. Not to mention we didn't have a car to leave with. This is not intended to talk anybody away from Enterprise, they generally have good deals. Just, do a good job looking around and if you find something give it to an employee of the business. Let them deal with it. And this advice isn't limited to Enterprise, BTW.
  9. It's not to often that a good deed doesn't go unpunished in here.
  10. LOL, I just call him/her the maitre d'.
  11. I think Royal IT, FAA and Southwest use the same IT contractors and their software was developed by the same people about 30 years ago AND they are trying to stuff 50 pounds of stuff into a 20 pound bag. If I were the CEO, which is a good thing I'm not, I'd fire the top level IT VP's, Directors, hire the best of the best and have then methodically replace the entire system that isn't working. I may not be right. But, perception is reality, period. Just my opinion, of course.
  12. When you went to Guest Services, did they offer a reason for the noise? If not, it makes me wonder if it might have been the crew cleaning the spa/hot tub. But, as much as the cruise industry doesn't enforce their own rules, yes it probably was guests using the spa.
  13. Yep, pre-paid gratuities are already part of the invoice, if you elect to pre-pay them. But, it is separated from the fare. Also, if someone elects not to pre-pay the gratuities, they are added to the onboard account, daily. So, if someone doesn't like the service received today, he/she can go to customer service and have them remove the gratuity fee for the/that day. Not that anyone would notice, especially the offending crew member(s).
  14. It would be great if there was a program/algorithm that these social media sites can purchase or develop themselves that take subjects like this and points the posters to that thread, no matter how old the OP was. It would just reduce the redundancy. On the other hand, this forum along with others is a commodity that can be put up for sale. I would imagine that the number of posts within the forum is part of it's overall value, not just the number of active participants. And to be clear, I don't have a problem with the repeated subject(s). Each brings out something new and of value, usually.
  15. I'd be interested in hearing your review of the Lobster night.
  16. BTW, we have us, well, formally me, Canadians for Peameal Bacon. Looooooooove the stuff. Every time we visit Canada we bring back several pounds of the stuff.
  17. I haven't experienced the negative experiences that have been reported concerning the Port of Miami. I don't like Miami, the city, so if I was going to fly in, I'd go to FLL a day early, get a hotel room in Dania Beach, which is actually what city FLL is partially in. Then drive or Uber to the Port of Miami. I have never cruised out of the Port of Miami in other than the newest RCCL terminal and a couple times from the/a Rustbucket Cruise Line Terminal. I've found that the new RCCL terminal is completely organized, clean, and inviting. If you drive in and park at the new terminal, you drive to the up ramp in the parking garage and the porters are there to take your luggage, so easy peasy. If you are Star Class, the purple banner is right out in front of the entrance to the terminal, drop off you luggage curbside with party member, park and it's an easy walk, after parking, to get back to the terminal, it's all connected and all protected from the elements. Traffic issues in a port can be so subject to so many conditions. It's unfair to judge a port because of ongoing construction, accidents, weather, people not knowing what they are doing and so on. Don't get me wrong, I like the new terminal(s) at the Port of Canaveral, too, it's one of my favorites. But, I think Miami's is sooooo much better. This is my opinion and experience(s). YMMV!
