  1. Your order was wrong. Attendant, no action. Sea Bar, drinks, smokes Guest services. Once you were refunded, the cabana was filled and ship staff moved on. The only choice to make it right were unacceptable alternatives.
  2. Here is an old school technique that works really well in certain situations, like a nice hotel. Tip valet when he takes the car Tip the bellman when he takes your bags Tip the doorman when he opens the door Tip the receptionist that gives you your key and escorts you to room Tip the steward that delivers your bag I will have to adapt it for encounters during embarkation. $20 for each of those initial services goes a long ways.
  3. LMAO. I booked in about 30 minutes after she deciding cruise would be a nice break (free to book for 5 days), then researched a bit more and bought it. We will have a lot of fun and relaxation. Celebrity was double the price, my wife likes HAL, we don't know Celebrity, its her 60th bday. She gets HAL!
  4. Ah. Nope. United, Marriott, Hilton, Westin, Hyatt non of them have screwed up even a penny. All accounted for ten years (as far back as I keep records). likely longer. Double checked by me, wife, boss and CFO. All travel venders supply me a formal itinerary in PDF that comes from their computer system listing all services provided, not some hand typed mumbo jumbo that any human could mistype.
  5. $100 Lima to port (RT). $200ppx for the flight to Cuzco. $699ppx for the train. $200 hotel in Lima, $100 hotel in Cuzco. Under 50% of what HAL is asking for 2. Flying to Lima to Cuzco is the only way to do it in this amount of time and you will likely take one day to deal with Lima, one day to get to MP and back to Cuzco. Next AM, fly back to Lima, on a bus and you are back on the ship. If you are overweight, physical disabilities, need O2, be prepared. Cuzco is 12k' and MP is 8k'. Those O2 bottles at Walmart would work well. Most average flat landers have problems just walking around Cuzco. If you have a chance, warm up walking to Sacsahuamán (above). I don't find rushed trips like that enjoyable. I walked the Inca Trail to MP, would like to do it again, but it was a booger. I had a flight delay so landed late and had to start hiking 15k' passes the next day.
  6. I had about 4 days to research and wife was strongly for HAL. You know the saying about a happy wife. It's her 60th and its only a pile of money. We will have fun.
  7. Can't be robbed until my cruise as I purchased and paid in full the same day. I have 30 days to go!!! Reading about canceled exc, cabana and removing OBC, I have set my expectations appropriately low.
  8. If HAL does not mark up excursions , they lose money. Thus they are overpriced. My first statement. This is a universal business model, i.e. make a profit. Generally most people do not think a mass market tour, that is a greyhound bus to a location where they dump you off, hand you snorkel gear is worthy of a gratuity (example). If you don't agree then you are a exception to the generalization. Have a good night!
  9. LMAO. Got me there. Lucky man to be able to entertain yourself and guests. Good on you dude. I have never gambled in 60 years, other than a few mega millions tickets recently. My wife will get some money on her 60th cruise, just to blow. I am certain will will share your luck.
  10. Not me. Asked numerous times. Only formal invoice was my main itinerary. Only thing on cabana is a manual email typed by a human. Nothing on anything else, just online or navigator.
  11. I just spent $10k on a week in a n.s. Why do you get a free room and 10k free play?
  12. What is wrong with HAL? I have no "paper" from HAL. They can't even provide me an invoice for my exc or cabana. Just a manual email. Stuff mystically disappears and reappears from web and navigator. Hard to believe they have a loyal customer base. HAL won't be my next cruise at this rate. Completely unprofessional.
  13. Why? Is HAL really that horrific that you can't just trust them to deliver to your order? I spend about $150k/year in travel. Never dream of taking a hard copy somewhere.
  14. Never bothered reading it as I trust thousands of user comments befor HAL, thus I asked. Thanks. Not applicable if you are using HIA credits. Not applicable if it is not beneficial to HAL. Not applicable if time, itinerary, or any word changes. Corp lip service and marketing
  15. Thanks. Looked at it. Looks like a lot of stuff going on there. Even today.
  16. It must be a pre cruise thing. No way MP can be done as an port excursion.
  17. The only reason to book an excursion with the cruise line is because, they are then liable to get you back to port on time or hold the ship.
