  1. Enjoy your sea day. Hope the Eurodam is up to your expectations, and they treat you right. I expect you will be doing some laps around the promenade deck. Yesterday's turn around was rough on the crew, so I am guessing there may have been some snafus.
  2. Nicole has come closer to the Tampa Bay area than originally predicted. Center is about 25 NE of Tampa at 10:30 am, and we are getting rain training in off the Gulf. Winds have been gusty up to 50mph. The Skyway Bridge was closed due to the winds. Rotterdam and Eurodam should be docking soon at Port Everglades. Yeah!
  3. The port camera view looks good. Hopefully both ships will dock soon.
  4. Sorry for you about your storm delay. I have friends aboard the Eurodam who have been enjoying their cruise, at least up to now. Looks like she is doing 8 knots off the north coast of Cuba.
  5. I've been catching up on your posts, but I wish you all the best as one of our favorite Daily posters. I know of your many recent setbacks. You need a great cruise! Thanks for sharing the Oosterdam's TA with us.
  6. I feel like a lurker lately as I haven't been able to sign in. We had an invite to visit friends in Carmel, California that we met on a Holland America cruise. They had a beautiful Neptune suite and we upgraded to verandah with obstructed vision. Guess they felt sorry for us!
  7. When I was on the Wind Surf in May, one of the officers on the bridge told me he came from the Prinsendam. Wind Star was a part of Holland America.
  8. Very familiar pictures as I was there on the Rotterdam, October 2014, as we did the Africa circumnavigation cruise. I agree, along with Petra and Egypt, it was a highlight!
  9. Nieuw Statendam returns to its winter home. Yeah! It is at #19 rather than #26. Wonder why? Celebrity Infinity is in port with NS. Happy Saturday everyone.
  10. Slowly, cruising is returning to normal. No Mariner lunch so far, and test kitchen, and computer classes are gone. We have had welcome aboard cocktails, medallion awards, Orange Party and shared tables return. The first World Cruise since 2020 starts in a couple of months.
  11. Seems to change with the surrounding markets. Canada liquor prices are high.
  12. I wear my Prinsendam pin on Gala nights and always get the nicest comments, from guests and crew who were on her.
  13. The fruit crisps and creme brulee are available, but you have to ask.
  14. Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian family! Our condo neighbor from Hamilton returns soon. Lots of good memories of Canada adventures: Quebec
  15. A Regent ship has pulled in and will have to tender I'm sure.
  16. Good morning all. St Petersburg has had a delightful weather week since Ian passed to our south. It pulled cooler dryer air down giving us highs in the low 80's and lows in the mid 60's.The condo turned the pool heater on as the water temperature fell to 78! Our fall cruise season is quickly approaching, sadly without a Holland America ship in Tampa again. We maybe tempted to drive or Amtrak to Ft. Lauderdale fairly soon. Several good cruises leaving in the next few days: The repositioning ones from Alaska, Canada and Europe to Ft Lauderdale. Heard Bill Miller, author and marine buff who narrated the Holland America origin story, will be on the Rotterdam for the 150th anniversary cruise to NYC. I would love to see and here him. Met him many years ago aboard as a guest lecturer. Pic taken from Carnival Paradise returning to Tampa. Paradise bars are named after Ocean Liners: Queen Mary Lounge, Rotterdam, Rex, Normandie.
