  1. 730am T&CD Kristen says we've been cleared and called for self assist. We're starting to clear out.
  2. I did set it outside - this morning is the first time I've seen him and I didn't mention it, but it's ok. I was just a little odd.
  3. I have 2 more chapettes ( 😏) re the dogs and a few more spa pictures to post, so I hope you'll stick around. Thanks for joining me again - I hope to travel w/you one day. 😊
  4. Yay for my very own coffee pot! No sharing today since I may need to shoot out of here. Server says breakfast specials are only on sea days. Dining room & CO are fairly empty this morning. Service in MDR is slow - I've only received ☕ no juice yet, but maybe my guy likes to bring it all together. T&CD Kristen announced at 7am that we had not yet been cleared and to not congregate; prefers people wait in their cabins or lounge areas. I'm doing my waiting in MDR. Brought my bag with me and told Steward I was turning my cabin over to him.😪
  5. Nice collection of days - I've been a mentor and have had good mentors. Like the quote, pass on the meal (squash), possibly try the drink and wine, not been to the port. Today's sunrise over San Diego as seen from my balcony on the K'dam Weather Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  6. Good morning, San Diego! We are here with something (seal?) swimming along side of us. It moved so quickly, I wasn't able to get good pictures. Bow Cam view Aft Cam view Weather Location Going to breakfast while I can still get a table then will post the other sunrise pictures.
  7. Hmm - it's been about 90 minutes since we left and we're either moving really slowly or not at all. I'm seeing the same structures in the same places even though some time has passed. TV says we're doing 12 knots, so I guess we're moving. Never been to Ensenada before - is it so close to San Diego that we would just casually creepy crawl, Sunday stroll?
  8. There was actually a lot done - ship was brought fully ADA compliant, so a LOT of changes were made throughout the ship. The bar at Explorations Central was redone (larger, rectangle w/a lower counter in a part of it). Family friendly game room built into a revamped Kids Club. Library installed. Spa completely redone w/new hydro pool installed. Accessible cabins received buttons & eyes to open doors as well as the bathrooms in them. We were on the last cruise before it went into drydock and the first cruise coming out of drydock so we were able to see the changes.
  9. My recent experience on prepaid grats is different. On the NS Rome roundtrip Oct 26 - Nov 10 2023, grats never showed on our statement. I asked if it was an error or would we be seeing a daily charge then credit as @Blackduck59 and @aussiedisneyfan reported and was told "neither - not an error and no charge coming since it's prepaid you just never see them."
  10. Isn't Emeril's MDR menu on Carnival? 🤔
  11. Must have extra food to dump to make room for provisions: I ordered half club sandwich - got a whole one. And received both slaw and chips (L🧡VE those chips) Ordered small cobb 🥗 - got a full large one.
  12. There was a San Diego Zoo + airport transfer listed, but the only one showing now is a city highlight tour ending at the San Diego Airport. Says it's for flights leaving after 430pm. Allows you to not mess w/luggage once on the bus until you get to the airport. There's also the regular airport transfer which would allow you to drop your luggage at the airport and then you could go back out on your own w/o worry of luggage.
  13. Here is the full collection of Dailies; I think I got each of them posted for y'all, but if there's one you didn't see, let me know and I'll go through my pictures. Also thought I'd show you how I use the space below the TV - it makes great storage for all the papers & cards you get throughout the cruise as well as those pesky slippery satin bed runners. And while I was posting, I felt the familiar swaying of a boat in motion. Sure enough, we've left. Bye bye, Ensenada! Good job pax for making it back on time. And most excellent job Captain Arno for leaving early!! No fan fare, no horns, no announcement - just GO!!
  14. Your assessment of the Navigator App that it would allow you and your mom to text w/o paying for internet is correct. So you'll be fine once you find and install a version that works. If it gets wonky while you're on the ship, just reboot your phone and keep using it - don't let them uninstall it as you'll be back to the same place you are now. That's what happened to me - ugh. So now, I keep the link of previous versions handy until I get a new phone. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise! BTW, the Navigator App is also great for reading the menus and checking what's on the schedule. Plus it shows "ships time" and has your boarding pass 😊
  15. https://www.9apps.com/android-apps/Holland-America-Line-Navigator/version-history-1/ Hey @JackyPants all you need to know is either A) the last date the Navigator App worked for you or B) what version of Android you're running. Then from the link above, you can download the version that will work for your phone. The Android version compatible w/the Nav App is shown as "Android+" followed by a number such as 11, 10, 5.1, etc My phone runs Android 10, so you can see the newest version of the Navigator App that is compatible is 4.30.0. I also know that's the version that will work because it worked fine until I tried to update it the end of Nov. It's not as difficult as it may appear. The Navigator App version number is 4.xx.x; the release date is shown directly under "Holland America" version 4.30.0 was released on 10-20-2023 - select the one you need then hit the download arrow on the right. From settings on my phone, you can see Navigator App version installed is 4.30.0 From settings on my phone, you can see my phone is running Android 10
  16. Hey look - your carpet is the same as the painting in the spa 😅
  17. Hey @JackyPants if you'll check the settings on your phone to see what version of Android you're running, I can probably help you when I get back to the ship.
  18. There's some pretty architecture and artwork, like these ceilings, but guide is not telling us what we're seeing and there are no signs.
  19. No idea where I am or why I'm here, but here I am. We are protected - wherever we are. Update - this was a casino which became a hotel when casinos were banned.
  20. Hey - let me get off this excursion bus and back to the ship and I'll tell you what I do. Although fairly new, my phone is no longer compatible w/the current version of Navigator.
