  1. Oh, I so have DDIY (Don't-Do-It-Yourself) Laundry envy... Consolation is I will be finding hard, pokey little colored tags for a while as I sent EVERYTHING out before they kicked me off the ship. Enjoy!!
  2. From the pictures I've seen, the chairs in CO on the Rotterdam are different from the ones on NS. Yes, better and comfortable. 🤔 I have not been on Rotterdam, so my experience is on NS last cruise - hard, wooden and do not lend themselves to a 2 hr+ dinner.😪
  3. Did you feel Falmouth was a satisfactory substitute for Key West? Key West has been removed from every cruise I've had since right before the restart, so I'm hesitant to try again.
  4. Hello again - I found it, so no need to send. But thanks, I know you would have. Happy Holidays!
  5. Grand Dutch Cafe; coffees, not cocktails, but lightening in a bottle is still lightening and they do have a proper bar...
  6. Hey @QuattroRomeo was the Spiked Eggnog on a special drink menu (maybe holiday menu) at Grand Dutch or other bar? Do you have a picture showing it available? Thanks!!
  7. Welcome to HAL! Be sure to check out Grand Dutch Cafe and enjoy your cruise!!
  8. @kermie1963 if you don't smoke or have an aversion to the smell of cig smoke, you may want to reconsider a mid-ship deck 7 cabin (of any type) on Venezia. We had an aft wrap deck 7 in Sept and really thought someone was smoking near the mid-ship elevators. Cabin Steward said it's from the casino - he has allergies and struggled w/it his entire contract. Just another point you may want to consider. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  9. Hey @cruising sister (and/or anyone who uses LF) - question on LF service: is luggage delivered to the ship and ultimately your stateroom? Or do you have to claim it somewhere and turn over to a porter? I use Luggage Direct for return in SEA & FLL, but have not used LF on the front end and am considering it for a couple of my upcoming cruises. On their website, it shows recommended date to be the day before your cruise leaves, which caused me to 2nd guess my idea of how the service works. I thought once they picked them up, I would next see my bags in my cabin, but maybe not?🤔
  10. @marshhawk yes, you can freeze ham. You can also use it to make ham & beans (yummy w/cornbread) and soup. Since you are so accommodating to dinner guests requests, I love enchiladas - what time is dinner, lol.
  11. Correct - pre cruise refund goes back to the gift card. During a cruise (ie while onboard) refund goes to the onboard statement and ultimately if not used is refunded to the CC on file. Or you can collect it in cash, if you prefer.
  12. Sadly, we had a disappointing CO experience on the cruise before this one (Nov 26 - Dec 10) - temperature was unbelievably cold and service ridiculously slow. Net result was only 1 breakfast & 2 dinners in there the entire cruise. The food was good, though, but not worth enduring the uncomfortable chairs on top of the cold temp & long service time. I hope @LAFFNVEGASis able to get an improved experience and that yours is great
  13. Good days; interesting quote; pass on the meal, would try the drink & wine; not been to the port; important days in history. Cabinmate got roasted chestnuts during a portstop in Spain on our recent NS cruise - she enjoyed them; they looked burnt to me.🤔 Dr pleased w/progress on the frozen shoulder & showed me an exercise to help w/backward movement. Says it's the last to regain and even though I continuously mention it to PT, she has not been working on it; I will now, though. He gave me a shot & ordered an MRI for the other shoulder, still saying it is secondary to the frozen one. I am glad we have a plan. Today is PT again and work. Currently 46° headed to 64° with rain tomorrow. Happy Anniversary @Sharon in AZ @Petunia1950 saw pictures of the new library on NS - it looks very nice; enjoy your cruise! Prayers and positive thoughts for all.
  14. Thank you - it's beautiful! We rarely ate lunch in the Lido and expected to see them as part of the Cake Me Away event, so we likely missed them. Glad you were able to snag one.😊
  15. Skip the starter unless they can rustle me up a green salad of some kind w/basalmic vinaigrette, roasted chicken w/gnocchi, chocolate puff pastry & cappuccino, please.
  16. Oh my!! You have brought the best Christmas gift ever - Santa gets a holiday!! See, this is why we submit official requests to the Institute 🤭
  17. Ritz Cocktail (never had one, so a bit anxious), candied 🥓 (to share), iceberg wedge no cheese w/1000 island, small portion ribeye med w/bordelaise, special request sides green beans & sautéed onions, finish w/chocolate souffle and cappuccino. Appreciate you handling the wine - I cannot make another decision. Oh yummy!!
  18. I seem to remember (maybe it was a foggy dream) on Eurodam in May, reading somewhere that it was open 24/7 once it was beyond it's grand unveiling.
  19. Thanks for sharing the Fun Times, squooshed and non-squooshed, lol. Seeing them a couple months after getting off a ship (Sept Venezia) gives me a good visual reminder of how much there is to do each day. 😊
  20. Thank you!! And that's a really nice, detailed piece for a first installment. Stellar work, as usual.
