  1. If the newly selected CO cabin holds it, can another person be added to a CO booking?
  2. Delay sounds like you may hitting that bar after all.
  3. When using a TA, can they do a 3-way when adding CO call so you can get the cabin you want? Otherwise, what assurance is there of getting what you want?
  4. We considered booking Azamara pre-Covid but did not do it due to a work conflict. We have very recently (this week) begun looking at specific cruises due to very attractive offers and are browsing threads here on CC to educate ourselves on Azamara since the sale in hopes of making an educated decision. We do not have unlimited funds available - this is a splurge for us and we want to be sure we're acting responsibly as well as getting the best value for our investment. This conversation gives me pause. Thoughts, suggestions, recommendations? What would you do if you had an opportunity for a do over? I feel for everyone on this thread who has not received proper treatment from Azamara and am not looking to be the next in line, but don't want to miss out on a great experience if that could be my outcome.
  5. I don't believe she can board w/just a birth certificate. Even though she doesn't have a DL, she should be able to get a state issued ID which she could take. You definitely should call HAL and get confirmation of what's required for a minor.
  6. Nice to learn you got the cabin and even had a choice between 2 - hope you immediately bought a lottery ticket, lol. On Oosterdam deck 5 you will have the deepest balcony - yet another win! We love those true aft cabins due to having both Port & Starboard views. Also enjoy the extra sealife (we seem to always have whales or dolphins joining us in port) especially on AK itineraries. If you're prone to feel the movement, you may notice it a bit more back there. We have not experienced extra noise or soot as some write about. Congrats and enjoy!!
  7. @Denise T so excited for you and your siblings - it's going to be an awesome experience for all of you. I've been following since you started this thread and have enjoyed seeing your excitement build as your embarkation date approaches - am really looking forward to reading about your adventures and seeing your pictures!! Safe travels!
  8. He could have just sent his half back to cook a little more. Win - almost win.
  9. Aligned with this - my TA called that out to me about the phone number. But @mcrcruiser my experience is the paasenger needs to submit it, not the TA. Mine has me copy him or forward the email where I submitted it; that way they can follow-up.
  10. Are the regular deck chairs as hard, straight and uncomfortable as they look? They look like the extra stacking chairs in a conference room. Not meant for lounging...
  11. @oakridger I appreciate the info. I had 2 assignment returned by HAL last year because they has electronic signatures rather than "live" signatures. That caused me to find a way to print them so I could sign, then return them. Then HAL denied them because they were received late and I sent them the original email showing when I had initially submitted them. In that email exchange it was said the transfer had to be made within 30 days of booking. Yes, definitely before final payment. As with some other experiences, published policy may differ from experience (shouldn't happen but does), but I would defer to published policy. I am definitely a fan of being able to use electronic signatures. Hope it all works out.
  12. We book either of those on any ship anytime they're available - they truly are the hidden jackpot! And Portside so double the pot!! On some ships, there is an ice room next to one of them, but we didn't hear any noise. You can have the divider opened so you will have a massive balcony. And can have extra chair delivered if you want/need, as well as extra blankets so you can truly enjoy the Alaska scenery. We lived out there - cold/rain/fog/whatever - for Alaska and are quite envious!! Enjoy your trip.
  13. You will have the option of getting off just to clear customs then get right back on or spending time in port, returning at your leisure (just be mindful of All Aboard). If you decide to spend time in port, be sure you get your new key card early in the morning (I get mine before breakfast) and take it along with your In Transit card and passport. You will be given instructions on where to meet for Turnaround Day - please be sure no matter what you decide to do in regards to time in port, that you show up on time for that meeting. They can't do anything w/B2B passengers until they've accounted for all In Transit passengers. Every time it seems there's a manhunt for stragglers. 🙂
  14. Yes you can transfer to TA within 30 days of when you booked it. Your TA can complete the form and send it to you to sign and submit or you can fill it out yourself. They can't submit it for you and it has to be signed by you before submitting; HAL will not accept electronic signature. If I was responding via computer (rather than phone) I'd send you the form. Let me know if you want the form and I'll send it when I'm on my computer.
  15. We were on Eurodam April 29 - May 6 Seattle round-trip- Port Valet was offered and worked flawlessly. Flew Alaska air DFW.
  16. Same experience as others here and as recently as this month (May 6) on Eurodam - can be used for daily gratuities. Agree w/Kazu to check statement a couple days in and you'll likely see the non refundable amount decreasing by the amount of the gratuities. Enjoy your trip!
  17. No menus - this was 7 day Seattle round-trip April 29 - May 6. I broke them out in my live review; don't have that handy, but you can get the attire by looking at these programs. Enjoy your trip!!
  18. You should be able to do that since there are no special rates tied to either cabin.
  19. We had this same scenario Nieuw Amsterdam B2B Feb '23 and Koningsdam B2B Nov/Dec '22. Both times we had to book 1 cabin each using the person who had the offer as Guest 1 to get the rate. Then once onboard, just go to Guest Services and tell them you want to swap cabins (who you want in which cabin). They'll fix it on the spot and give new keys. Both times, they told us "we don't care who sleeps where, but we need accurate names per cabin for proper billing." We tried at time of booking to do do it differently as well as call in after booking to get it changed, but they wouldn't do it b/c the rate offers are tied to Mariner number.
  20. The option to cancel with refund had a deadline before the cabin assignments were made. Why would I cancel before I knew what cabin they were giving me?
  21. We did B2B on Koningsdam in San Diego Nov 26 - Dec 10 2022 w/a cabin change. Cabin stewards will move all your stuff and even pack it; although, I prefer to do that myself and let them move it. You do need to do the safe, of course, since they can't get in it. Just tell them if you have anything in the fridge that needs to move and they'll move it. When you leave for breakfast, let them know so they know they can pack/move your stuff. We picked up our new card before breakfast on turnaround day (they're open 24/7 so no issues getting a key at 6am) - your old one will be scanned for you to leave and new one will be scanned to get back on. You can probably get your new card when you get back, but this makes for smoothest transition. We do this for all B2B when we change cabins. You will have the option of doing the "kindergarten walk" (all in transit passengers meet, line up single file (lol) and get off, go through customs & get back on together) or getting off and reboarding later on your own. If you do the latter, you'll need the "in transit" card you got and your new key card. Very easy peasy.
  22. Thanks for doing this. I do keep every HAL deck plan on my phone and find myself referencing on every cruise, so this will be a nice replacement.
  23. Agree - we did that on Nieuw Amsterdam in Feb w/no issues. Just went straight to Guest Services as soon as we boarded.
  24. That's what Dr Will (Kirby) who won season 2 Big Brother did - removes tattoos.
  25. Or grab a margarita and look for hidden duck. Want to see that picture - surely it won't be a plain yellow 🐤🦆...
