  1. Hi - can anyone confirm definitively that needing a paper boarding pass as @shof515reported has been rectified? Will be B2B in Sept on Venezia out of NY and need to be prepared. Goodness knows I won't be looking to stand in yet another special line to print one out.
  2. Anything that gets me eating more bacon 🥓 (well cooked, not soggy) is a win. 😊🤗🥳 just skip the pickle and 🍋
  3. For sure!! And when you get enough (undisclosed quantity) credits, they convert to OBC with no expiration date. 🤭🙄
  4. Great info! The link was, of course, specific to that deck on that ship. When I tried to get to what I wanted on another ship, shows to be for TAs only. Do you have another link for the "public" or can you send me the one for Venezia deck 7?
  5. As some have said, it's usually best to book a guarantee only if you're willing to accept the worst possible cabin in your category. That way, if that's where you end up, you're not disappointed and if you get the best one, you're ecstatic.
  6. Correct - If you want to get the lower rate you saw when you added them to your cart, you'll have to pay that by time final payment is due and cannot use OBC to pay it. If you remove it and pay w/OBC onboard, the rate will be at the higher current rate. So, no, you cannot have it both ways. And if you have them removed then decide you do want to pre-pay and add them back, they'll be at the higher rate.
  7. Perhaps someone currently on a cruise can share the room service menu so we can see.
  8. Correct. Safe travels and enjoy your cruise! Curious where FIL plans on sleeping as he seems to be the odd one out. I just flashed on him crashed on a lounger at 2am, lol.
  9. Carnival made a change to liquor pre-sale program a few months back. They gave passengers a hard date to pre-purchase after which time the option would be to buy onboard from a pared down list. Not sure if your brands made the cut. Might be worth asking current passengers if those are available on the room service menu. I don't see either on Carnival website: https://www.carnival.com/in-room-food-beverages/liquor
  10. Welcome to Carnival! I miss the days of really free room service.
  11. Hope you get it resolved. Kindly update us on the outcome as I think several of us are confused and aligned with @kdr69as to where the FXC come from.
  12. And, therefore, likely to be prepared when you travel by supplying your own.
  13. I know how to identify adjoining cabins on deckplan - is there a way to identify which balconies do/do not connect? I thought they all opened up (guess I never had one that didn't), but have read where people had balconies that could not be opened to an adjacent one.
  14. What does laundry cost per bag and per week? I saw the paper bag you posted @Saint Greg but I don't recall the rates. We're doing B2B on Venezia in Sept and I will definitely need laundry (not packing my whole closet, lol).
  15. Valid question. We eat in port but do drink bottled water.
  16. Looks like you're above the Teppanyaki restaurant. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise! mardi-gras-deck-plan-pdf.pdf
  17. Agree you don't put your luggage out the night before; stewards will move it for you morning of turnaround day. I frequently do B2B w/cabin change, but have not done one in Japan. I have never had my new keys brought to me, I've always gone to Passenger Services early morning turnaround day and picked them up. They'llgive you all of them, so only 1 person in the cabin needs to get them. Since they're open 24x7, it's easy to get them before heading to breakfast around 7am. As @oakridgersaid, you will use your old card to scan off the ship and the new one to scan on. You'll get instructions for meeting up on turnaround morning with all the other passengers continuing on. Be sure to check in w/the crew there so they check you off the list - very important as they cannot begin the process of processing the "turnaround" passengers until all of them are accounted for. Once approved, they'll escort you off the ship as a group and back on. At that time, you're free to do as you please. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  18. Thanks @Heartgrove Doesn't seem like it should be so difficult to change something one never asked for to begin with (I was assigned my current PCC), but it's been challenging. And when you ask for one that doesn't work out, you should be able to get that changed w/o an investigation. Glad it's worked for you and definitely appreciate the insight.
  19. https://www.hollandamerica.com/blog/recent-articles/whats-new/candied-maple-bacon-recipe/ Here's the "real deal" it does not have the heat @dobiemom recipe has.
  20. Hope it works out for you. Definitely have to watch them regarding or changing the rate code as that could cause you to lose OBC and/or be required to pay additional deposit even though all you should be doing is upgrading. Have them send your updated invoice while you're still on the call so you can review before they hang up. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  21. Last cruise on Carnival was right at the restart, Christmas cruise. We did not watch anything on our phones or have anything scanned on our phones. We went to our muster station and they scanned our key card. Sounds like that's changed? We will be on Carnival again in Sept and want to be prepared for whatever the current process is. BTW - HAL has you watch a safety video on the cabin TV then go to your station to get your key card scanned. The TV will not change channels until the safety video is played. And pre-Covid, they had everyone go to their assigned station and line up packed like sardines at their lifeboat so you knew where it was. Got a tutorial on how to put on flotation gear while there. They didn't start until everyone assigned to that muster station was there and had their card scanned - it was brutal but we did learn where our lifeboat was. Now whether you remembered it if needed is entirely another thing.
  22. Haven't used laundry service on Carnival, but planned on it during an upcoming B2B so this is good to know.
