Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. i ended up making a reservation because it doesnt cost anything....looks like its there. Check out the reviews on google maps. Looks like its best to call as you approach https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hertz+Car+Rental/@17.1231879,-61.8556175,15z/data=!4m10!1m2!2m1!1sHertz+Rent-a+Car!3m6!1s0x8c1293b3f273249f:0xc4452f69a0d4b358!8m2!3d17.118458!4d-61.844852!15sChBIZXJ0eiBSZW50LWEgQ2FyIgOIAQGSARFjYXJfcmVudGFsX2FnZW5jeeABAA!16s%2Fg%2F11h7pcnd_v?entry=ttu now to see if there is a self guided audio tour app like shaka guide for this island 🙂
  2. cruise ship congestion sounds like poor planning on the boats and port, sucks that consumers have to deal with those poor planners. Not like they dont plan these ports out years in advance.
  3. of course, the only prevention is to limit the amount of places that get that info. i mean no point in just owning the stock if not using the OBC. The main issue is that majority of people NEVER push back on these things. If enough people pushed back in teh beginning you know what would happen? Carnival corp would build something in house instead of contracting out the work. Wouldnt that be better? That would only happen if people by default push back instead of accepting because they feel they have no choice. If they dont get enough push back during trial and implementation they assume all is good. Hell Carnival couldve just partnered up with the leading stock brokers and setup a portal for validation in the same place you get your account statement. But without push back they went the cheapest way possible that involves selling your data. StockPerks is getting something out of this and its either money from CCL (which is a joke because they wont pay per user) or your data. They are not doing this for free. Its not like CCL cant share data to them via just the booking number. The booking number in CCL system has lots of data.
  4. thats the issue right there, the fact that you think its ok to give a 3rd party this info says a lot already. You may not think its not a lot but its too much.
  5. to be honest its totally valid for people not to want to sign up for another app to give all their info to just to be sold to another 3rd party. We as users should not condone companies to keep selling our data like this. Its just simply wrong and all of us should push back on it.
  6. I wouldn't want it to be an easy process, if it were easy then everyone would do it and ships and hotels would make better attempts to block stuff....not many people even know about the concept of a travel fire stick. When the masses come, good things come to an end.
  7. even if not listed they can stlll tell you no The Ship Security Officer and Staff Captain are authorized to make a professional judgment as to the legality of any item, declared, detected or discovered.
  8. only a norm while everyone gets the travel kick done....probably a few years until things settle more.
  9. not easy to walk someone through this but best to go on youtube and watch videos like this may say royal caribbean but same thing applies anywhere.
  10. does the OceanNow app allow you to order the free drinks like water and iced tea? Havent been able to tell if the app lets you do that 🙂
  11. Today I got a booking confirmation email from my cruise....OBC now totals what I expect to see with the shareholder benefit so the stockperk app was not needed. I did not expect the generic response I got as a way to tell me they gave me the credit but hey ill take it lol.
  12. I also responded to them saying I dont want to use another app and others reported tehy can still email them directly, lets see what they say. My sailing isnt until May, but still sucks that they try and force you to use an app that will just sell your data to the highest bidder.
  13. yea thats what I did and I got the following generic response back Thank you for contacting Princess Cruises! Carnival Corporation has engaged Stockperks to implement a more automated and streamlined process for the processing of shareholder benefits. During the ongoing transition phase, shareholders may be redirected to Stockperks to engage with our updated redemption process. The Stockperks service is governed by Stockperks’ Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and may be subject to other Stockperks policies and terms. For information regarding Stockperks’ use and processing of your information, technical support, account setup, and all other questions regarding the use of Stockperks, please contact Stockperks at carnivalcorp@stockperks.com.
  14. easy sure but now we are forced to give our data to another app who can then sell that data to another 3rd party, really dislike having to use another app if we are all forced to do so.
