  1. I can highly recommend these backpacks for travel. https://orilondon.com/collections/canfield-backpacks I have the small that I use. They are made from recycled plastics so environmentally friendly. My daughter was so impressed with mine that she’s bought two (one large and one small). The small easily carries my iPad and the large holds a 15” laptop. Catherine
  2. My husband also loves an after dinner Rum Cake (or 2). Roll on 45 days 🍸🍸 Catherine
  3. I’m having the same issues today with both the app and website - not recognising my password. I’ve got 2 more attempts but will leave it for now. Catherine
  4. People who are rhesus negative cannot receive Rh+ve blood, therefore O negative is the universal donor. O positive is the most common blood group. Catherine
  5. Not so. Additionally O neg is considered a universal blood type as it is used in emergency situations and is therefore in high demand. Catherine
  6. We really enjoyed Murano on the Eclipse, which I chose for my 60th in January. My husband had the lobster and I had Dover sole both of which are prepared table side. After desserts they brought me a cake and sang “Happy Birthday”. I was too stuffed to eat the cake and asked for it to be wrapped up to go. When we got back to our cabin, it had been decorated with balloons and a banner, plus we had another cake and sparkling wine. We had too much cake on this trip as it is my daughter’s birthday two days after mine and she too got a small cake at the end of her meal from our waiter in Luminae and a bigger cake in our suite. Murano was our favourite specialty meal of that trip and the staff were excellent. Catherine
  7. It is a serious data breach and at least in the UK, would need to be referred to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Catherine
  8. According to this article the Star is no longer sailing from Portsmouth. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/lifestyle/cruise-ship-norwegian-star-not-visiting-portsmouth-4564347 Presumably it will now sail from Southampton. Has anyone had this confirmed by NCL? Catherine
  9. My Scottish mother used to say ‘ne’er cast a clout, ‘til May be out’. This is good advice for the UK and Ireland in May. Carry a waterproof jacket and have a cosy fleece/sweater to hand. Catherine
  10. Depends what you like. If you prefer cities, the Best of Scandinavian will be a better fit. If you like scenery and natural environments then the former will be better. Catherine
  11. Their interpretation could be 1-5 days prior to embarkation day meaning that the day of embarkation is excluded (day 0). This is what happened in KimPossible’s scenario. You could notify them on day 0 but the positive test would need to have been between the day before embarkation or up to date 5 prior. Catherine
  12. Sorry you had to cancel. From looking at the T&Cs, it looks as though you fulfilled the requirements for a refund. Did you send evidence you phoned prior to 12 noon? Catherine
  13. The UK does not define a city based on population, although many large centres of population are cities. City status is granted by the British monarch, and Bath does have city status. St. David’s, a city in Wales, has a population of less than 2,000 people. Most, but not all, cities have a cathedral. Catherine
  14. I’d also second Portchester. It’s quite well preserved and lovely on a fine day. The recommendation for lunch in The Cormorant is a good one. Catherine
  15. We each had a carry on bag and small backpack. I must admit it wasn’t the most comfortable flight I’ve been on, as although the middle seat (of 3) is not assigned, the arms were fixed so there was no benefit from this arrangement. What is your flight number. We were on LA2381. Catherine
