  1. If we said "it is what it is" to everything, nothing would ever improve or change. And it's that simple.
  2. You know what they call someone who is happy with everything, all the time. A simpleton.
  3. All I was trying to do was offer advice based on my experience.
  4. Aqua show 37 min before start time. No seats left. No reservation seats, given away. No stand by, given away. Exactly 37 min in advance. We vowed then and there to by 45 min early for reservations. 20 to 30 min for stand by. That happened day one. Our new rule served us well. Again, I actually lived it. Just saying.
  5. I know what happened on my sailing since I was there and you weren't.
  6. There is also a stand by line. We had shows booked in May for every night. Half the time we didn't show till 20 minutes before they start and they had already started letting stand by in. So we never really were using our reservations, just walking in with the stand by people. The other half of the time we missed our reservation all together and went stand by for the next show. Never had a problem. The trick is if you have a reservation you have to show 30 to 45min in advance or they might give away to stand by. And if you don't have a reservation, you have to show 30 to 45 min in advance to be at the front of the stand by line. Just to play it safe. Lol. Understand, not everyone shows up for everything. Busy eating and drinking. Lots of last min availability. Reservations are free. No motivation to absolutely not miss.
  7. They can't afford to go back. Did any other travel or vacation product ever go back down in volume over the years and decades? No. Demand will never go down. More come away saying we have to do this again, then don't. It's all gone mainstream now. No going back.
  8. That won't change what has happened. People here think cruising will eventually go back to being a vacation secret. A deal with food and entertainment included in the price. A niche market will eventually return when the current fad runs its course. The cruise lines didn't build these new mega ships to go backwards. And more and more people are discovering this option for their holidays. This is it folks. Cats out of the bag. Cruising is an option when people start to plan their next vacation. It's becoming a travel norm.
  9. People will not stop paying. People will not stop cruising. I understand supply and demand just fine without an idiot's guide. I also understand delusional wishful thinking. Cruising is becoming more main stream. The big ships with slides etc are being pushed by cruise lines to compete with theme parks etc. And it's 100% working. The ship has sailed. It's not going back to old levels of demand and pricing.
  10. That's so not going to happen. Ridiculous. Laughable. These rates are here to stay. Deal with it. Lol.
  11. You 100% don't have to dress up for specialty or MDR. No wet bathing attire is the only bottom line. Everything else is up to individual choice.
  12. Currently $15 to $18 per person each way. The difference between $15 & $18 depends on which port your ship is docks at. You can Google the website for St Thomas taxi rates chart. It's all there. The rates are pre fixed for every taxi.
  13. I literally don't understand. Not ever being allowed to say anything negative about RC saves you money?
  14. This was one example of a bigger picture. Everyone keeps harping on the specifics.
  15. I would wait. They are still fine for use under 6 months if you needed to jump on a plane and fly home for emergencies etc. Especially for that itinerary. Send them off the minute you get back.
  16. These little things (cut backs) and the sleezy way they are handled add up. Then they leave a bad taste. I totally get it. And now for the crazy folks who don't allow negative RC opinions.
  17. Exactly. No travel expenses and free food. Clubs can pay as little as $50 a night. Cruise ship is a better deal. Doesn't mean they are any better or worse.
  18. On Wonder in May they had chicken parm and lasagna in the Windjammer on Italian night, just like in the MDR. They had turkey the last day but ran out by 1pm. I'd say there was one or two of the theme meal items each night in the Windjammer, but not more than that.
  19. Captains cocktail reception w/free champagne. More variety in the MDR and the Windjammer. Twice a day cabin service.
