I am doing this cruise September 17th so I am enjoying this thread. I hope you all have a good time. What is the best way to get to Cape Liberty from Newark airport? I have never been to that airport or cruise terminal and RC did not seem to offer me a transfer. I think my plane lands at 1045am.

The bartender has a tablet with faces of everyone nearby he can tap. A lot of the service on Regal still asked your stateroom to verify they have the right person or whatever reason. Some service didn't ask my stateroom so they either remembered me or saw my face on their tablet. I ordered a water once sitting around a busy bar and the service person gave it to a different person that kind of looked like me. I had the drink package so I just got another one. A couple times in the casino I ordered from my phone sitting at a game and they came and found me, but other times struggled and I noticed a server walking around looking for me, so it is not super accurate for them, specially in a busy area. I did like ordering drinks to my room from the phone app. That was handy, like when I wanted a water before bed.

5k to go solo, aft balcony on 14 I think it was. 2nd voyage the ship taking from Miami. I booked about three weeks ago. That was only room available as solo.

I might go on this cruise in September so I will be following your post. Waiting until 90 days out to see what the pricing is. Flights are cheap. I'm not too concerned about the itinerary, more want to see this ship.

I booked a couple solo cruises. Never done solo before. Can I get my own two top table solo in the MDR or will they make me sit with other people? Normally I wouldn't mind sitting with other people too much, but It might be odd to be a third wheel at a couple's table or something.

Just do your embarkation documents so it turns green in the app. Then I wouldn't fuss with app at all until you get on the ship. I don't think there is anything to do. Also i see no point in getting the medallion mailed to you early. When you check in at the port they have the medallion organized by stateroom. Besides being a cute magnet, I do not think you can do anything with it.

I went on the regal princess in April and the medallion app worked fine for me. I can see how some people struggle with it. For embarkation I had to upload a face picture and passport. If you are not phone savy it could be frustrating. On the ship the app is really nice. You can locate your shipmates on map. Order drinks. Look at activities. When you walk up to your stateroom the door automatically unlocks.

Ahh okay. I will have to keep that in mind. First time solo (and first rc since 1999) . The symphony cruise may not be looking to be fully booked (week before Thanksgiving week) so they lowered solo cost. Seems like princess does the same 200%. Shopping for Alaska next summer.

Looking forward to Icon of the Seas. I just booked February, I think it's the second or third voyage. Balcony looking off the aft which will be different. That was only thing available. They really hammer you on going solo on this ship. I booked a symphony recently as well and didn't have to pay double.
