  1. Some people wait a couple days after boarding to make sure they really want to upgrade. Can save as then you only pay for the day you decide to upgrade moving forward.
  2. Also, keep in mind that both people in the stateroom, if applicable, are not required to upgrade.
  3. Have had two post covid cruises and all fine.
  4. I guess I better stick to shorter cruises. If I had to come back to my stateroom with the walls covered with stuff and clothes hanging from the ceiling not sure I would find this to be a calm or relaxing experience, which for me is what it is ultimately all about. So now I guess I need to figure out the maximum days before this would all come into play. More planning!!
  5. Yes they did the same on our recent cruise. Again as noted, doing as something helpful for packing.
  6. Also I believe another reason is the longer segment is also being marketed as a Grand voyage. Both of the segments making up the grand voyage both have availability. Same thing for us at this time. We have a Grand voyage for October. It shows as completely Wait Listed but there is availability for both segments making up our Grand voyage. I’m sure something to do with their scheduling software in juggling the staterooms so they may limit more the availability for the longer cruise as in our case the two separate voyages cost more than the one longer version until they get a better feel for sales on all segments.
  7. We had a cruise we had booked back in 2020 for a sail date in July, 2021. Of course it never happened because of Covid. But, before it was ever canceled because of Covid it ended up getting canceled due to being chartered. The way ours worked on the website is that all of the categories all of a sudden showed up as CLOSED. It showed that way for a couple of weeks before being notified by Oceania that it was canceled due to being chartered. Assume they were working on finalizing everything before notification. We received this information roughly 11-12 months prior to the scheduled sail date. They offered a FCC for 10% of the cost of the cancelled cruise.
  8. Not experienced this decline. Perfect, nah…but a wonderful experience.
  9. It seems most are complaining of tv noises, with a few talking about loud voices from occupants. If from tv, would placing the diverters I’ve seen mentioned take care of a high percentage of the issues?? If so, how quickly could that be done? Seems like if it is systemic they would want to try to address prior to rolling her out for the ATW. Also, what other options would be available to address it? Time frame needed? I’m looking at the schedule for Vista it appears only down time is early January 2025 for about 5 days in Miami.
  10. But this type of advertising could come in handy for some. I was chatting with a man in the neighborhood several months back and he knows we are cruisers. He told me they are finally going on a cruise because his wife had found this great 2 for 1 deal!!! I was like, uhh……well…maybe….so I just kept quiet and thought good for you Linda!!!
  11. On our recent cruise, we did it the morning prior to disembarkation day.
  12. In our case there is a b2b, but it was also sailing as a Grand Voyage. The one segment was on sale when we were looking at the cruise. However, even with the one segment being on sale it was still significantly cheaper to book as a Grand Voyage. The biggest downside is the only getting credit for one booking in the loyalty program. The number of specialty reservations was the same regardless as a 20 day voyage in PH.
  13. On the Eargasm ear plugs…..the high fidelity ones or the squishables? Gosh, that doesn’t even feel right typing that out! 🤣
  14. As you know it is quite expensive. We have only done it once and that was because the tours we wanted were not available and this was in Istanbul. I will add now before the SM choir chimes in that this was pre SM so that had nothing to do with the availability. Upon boarding we were advised to meet with Destination Services and provide them with a priority list of places to see, which we did. They advised they would send this list to the tour operator to get sign off on our list. We waited about 7 days with no word. Spoke to them on day before our tour and they advised they would reach out once again. Later that day they called and advised the tour operator advised it was fine. Day of tour we met our guide and her first comment to us was…..so, what would you like to see today?!?!! 🤷🏻‍♂️. The tour ended up being ok…and we did end up seeing all but one place. Some of this was due to the chaotic day it turned out to be in Istanbul as they ended up having their presidential runoff election on this day which made it an unexpected holiday so downtown was full of tourist and locals who then had the day off also. Again, tour was ok but process was very frustrating. Also, keep in mind if more than 2 in your party you have to do the van version instead of car version at a higher cost. So….just keep in mind above. Also, this is just an example of ONE experience, I’m sure there is a good chance others have had a completely different experience.
  15. I enjoy the TC in the evening also, but definitely not all the time. One thing I see mentioned on here some is that the TC has everything that is also on the GDR menu. I have not noticed this to be the case, it may have a few items also available in the GDR, I would agree. But I don’t believe it is accurate to say that it has everything, at least not in my experiences.
  16. We were in Stateroom 8071 and had no issues with noise. This was the case even with those in the next stateroom seemingly in quarantine nearly the entire cruise.
  17. Have to call. Typically quite easy and quick.
  18. That is a good description of the tour but I personally do not think you would be able to actually tour into the ruins. See from a distance? Yes. Enter and scooter or push a wheelchair through the ruins? No. With regard to House of Virgin Mary, that is at a different site with a bus ride to get there after the ruins. Honestly I do not recall what the access to the house entailed. It was uphill but I do not recall if on even paved pathway or if included steps or not.
  19. Unfortunately it is really hard to know what actually happened. The first post was simply it did not work and they gave us a fan. Then a subsequent post added the tidbit well of course we asked for a new room and there were none. Then it became they did offer us a new stateroom but with only three days left, which to me would probably be the most insulting but never mentioned until now…..when I see stories changing let’s just say I personally become a bit skeptical.
  20. I think what they may be referring to is there is a path that would take you by the theatre at the beginning which would take you to the main ruins area. So yes, you could see the ruins but not actually take the part of tour which actually goes into the ruins and theatre which is where the actual guide will be and telling you about what you are actually seeing. It really was a great tour overall.
  21. With the exception of the Terrace cafe I believe. At least that was the case on our recent cruise on Serena.
  22. We were there this past May and I would not say that the ruins are very accessible for people with moderate to severe walking difficulties and even more so if any light rain as would then be downright treacherous. Steps and uneven paths, etc. We had two relatively ‘younger, well you know relative to typical Oceania cruisers’ people in our group fall while going through the ruins on a bright sunny day.
  23. Terminal J just a month ago required the Boarding Pass prior to allowing you to go to the second floor for check in.
  24. In fairness I actually do picture a lot of these posters as you indicated. Welll…I block out the naked part, but miserable…..very much so.
