  1. To be noted, in that same thread someone else stated they had been in 7073 and did not hear a peep. Not sure if anything could have been done to address this issue when the Riviera was retrofitted or not.
  2. Following is a post I found from several years back with regard to 7069 on Marina, which has same layout as Riviera 493 September 20, 2005 Belton, TX #17 Posted May 21, 2012 There is no obstruction and a clear view. It is the best possible "oceanview" arrangement that I have ever seen. The rooms are identical to the balcony rooms, but without the balcony. We have been on the 7th floor on Marina twice. Be sure to check the location of your proposed cabin. Earlier this month we were in 7069 on Marina. Turns out it is above Martini's. In the evenings, the noise penetrates significantly from the sound system just below. They have an amplified sound system throughout Martinis, with speakers mounted in the cieling. When they have a band, a singer or even some of the piano performances, it is rather loud in 7069, and maybe others. A call to the front desk was met with .....nothing. Best to avoid areas over loud entertainment, if that type of thing bothers you. We had a singer one night who started at 10:45pm and went on until about midnight. It was very loud. My mistake, I should have been alert to a possible issue. Next time!!
  3. From what I have been able to pick up from looking at some of the 27 pages and growing fast is that they have made it back on the ship and thus far NCL has agreed to pay their expenses from getting to Gambia to Senegal only since they had to cancel Gambia. It also appears per a post that the 80 year old suffered a stroke and per family is now hospitalized at the University of Stanford.
  4. Leather would be the go to choice.
  5. And as you noted, expectations going in is the key. A positive outlook also helps and unfortunately I see so many that just seem to latch upon any negative and focus totally on the negative. We’ve also seen them onboard and pray we never get a sharing table with them…or….part of reason we never request sharing.
  6. If you book with SM you get the House Select. So to upgrade to the Prestige you pay the difference which is $30 per day (or $330 total) as looks like you have an 11 day cruise based upon the amounts indicated.
  7. Yes…allowed. They request no casual jeans in evening, which is a bit discretionary. Basically no holes, whitewashed, etc. those thas I’ve seen worn were fine. A dark wash with the lighter weight material which look a bit more dressier. This is for GDR and specialty restaurants. Terrace much more casual with shorts, etc.
  8. I agree. And on a cruise for me they really do very little if I’m being honest. I know what I want and know what rooms are available when I call them. I book my excursions directly with O. And in other instances I book on board and transfer and their involvement basically is facilitating final payment or changing rooms if that should arise. And I must say they are still rather cheap on their incentives when they have done very little to have earned the commission. My personal experience. And yea, perhaps time to find someone else.
  9. Unfortunately when I’m on a cruise I have at least 3 Eater services per day…..and it shows!!!! 🙂
  10. Not a problem yet, now if you tell us this 199 more times…….
  11. Agree. Just did a look for the Med next year…..cheapest I saw for an OT1 was 3880 pp for 7 days. Most OT3 were 4200 pp plus for 7 nights. I have been following them closely as interested in their product. I have not seen too many great deals. The prices indicated above were also under their The Total Luxury promo. My biggest issue is their overall lack of interesting itineraries for me and most are 7 nights. I’ll definitely keep watching though as it appears they have an excellent product.
  12. I don’t believe they even did USD for MX Pesos on our Caribbean cruise earlier this year.
  13. Good point on if booked cruises were under a sales promotion. Neither of ours were so the price increase I indicated was all due to 4/1 increase. I added a note to my prior post to include this information.
  14. I had saved a couple cruises yesterday included in this promo and just checked the prices and for a B1 on both, they went up $200 per person. As I noted in another thread with the new quarter two cruises we have booked went up $400 pp for an A2 and $200 pp for a PH and neither of these are included in the promo. So hard to say as some of the increases could just also be the 4/1 increase on many cruises. Neither of our booked cruises were previously under a sale promo.
  15. This is kind of me too….we were on a small group tour in Portugal (not cruise related). A woman on our first stop traveling alone took off, which was ok as it was during lunch and we were having free time. Now we are over 30 minutes past our meeting time and nothing. She had even given her cell number to someone else on the tour. This person kept on calling her and no answer. Everyone on tour out looking for her close to our meeting point. Finally the tour guide finds her wandering aimlessly. Of course her phone was dead….nice…she just gets in van, Not a word of feeling bad for the unnecessary delay, etc…next stop she goes to get off and tour guide said…only if I go with you since it was a short stop where we were on our own for a while. ….
  16. Oh……I see what you did there!!!! Bad, bad, bad. 😁
  17. There you go…..simply stating facts on what has actually happened to you!! Facts are really not appreciated too much on here.
  18. Not upset at all. I actually was in on the Extraordinary Sales event. I just have not felt the need to post about it all the time. And btw….I never mentioned you in my post, but good you at least realize you have posted 200 or more times about it. Carry on…..
  19. I don’t think most are saying they don’t like a good deal or are never checking prices on an ongoing basis. I think many of us do but we don’t all have an obsession and feel the need to have posted probably 200 times about a great deal we received at some point.
  20. Our TA does not charge a fee too book.
  21. Same here with our 2 booked cruises. We have a PH on Marina in October and price just went up by $200 this time (had already increased by $200 before also) I’m a bit surprised went up again as it has been completely Wait Listed for months….but I guess may start clearing that list and will now require the new price. Also have a cruise for June 2025 we booked while on board in February. An A2 on Vista. It just went up $400…. So now $600 more than what we got it at by booking while on board.
  22. Gambia is the cancelled port. Per a post due to unfavorable tidal issues.
  23. It seems they end up being on quite the adventure. Per some postings it sounds as if the next port where they may have been able to join has been cancelled. I saw that mentioned a couple of times in that thread. Next port I think it said was in Senegal.
  24. There is a thread on the NCL site here and a few people onboard have posted. They say 7 of 8 were on private excursions. The lone person on an NCL excursion was an 80 year old lady who was injured on her excursion and had to be hospitalized it would appear.
  25. You are probably right about the pricing and all, but perhaps we can wait until the actual promotion and pricing is out there for all to review. Then we can at least proclaim it to be an April Fools conspiracy and only a fool would bite on it. 🤷🏻‍♂️
